Hey Robbie, With the diffrent color of yabbies “ from dark to light brownish” is that to do with water conditions? More debris in still water causes the color change? As dams that I have seen have less debris have lighter color yabbies and does it change the flavor at all do you think?

Hi mate, the flesh varies from ape ies to species and rinsing the meat is fine as far as I am aware. It's hard to imagine water being bad for any food.
I'm a bit of a fan of a feed of crays. We used to hit the lakes north west of Brisbane (Somerset, North Pine, Wivenhoe etc) and fill a few buckets with redclaw. Haven't been out for a bit due to different reasons. Seen a few vids recently of guys in FNQ using full-sized crab pots with mesh liners getting 100-200 redclaw per trap! Madness!!
Sorry to go off topic Robbie , but I was wondering if trout magnet jig heads I think they are 1/64 will be any good for thoses Black/gold Nyphs from Strike tiger and also thoses 1.8 Mudeye lures ? Or what size jig heads do I need to match them up with theses products. I won't receive them till February where I live in Canada. Haha that would be a dream come true. I did play a small part in the recent taxonomy for the swamp yabby "Cherax Latimanus". These are common yabbies, Cherax Destructor. They larger models do get blue claws.

OK I promise not to laugh. No crocs here mate. We get Tiger snakes and brown snakes instead. The crocks are 2000km north of where I live. My issue was that I may not be able ro get back out as it was quite steep and deep. Probably only waste deep, but very soft mud and very steep sided.

Hahaha thanks mate. Murray crayfish rules are complex and vary in each state. In Vic (and I think NSW) the season is June, July and August.
