Ik some ppl didnt like how it skipped some things and was shortened...but man the quality because it was a movie was AMAZING. The sounds of them hitting the volleyball in the theater were crazyy
The animation throughout the whole movie felt like a normal episode BESIDES the last rally and kuro's serve rally (he starts laughing after receiving), also there were no original soundtracks for the movie which is a bummer. It was still good but did feel a little lackluster.
Just so you guys know: It is confirmed that there is another movie coming, possibly showing the rest of the nacional arc and maybe a little bit of the timeskip ❤ loved ur reaction guys!
OH YES THANK YOU FINALLY! THEY WON'T COMPRESS EVERYTHING INTO 1 MORE MOVIE. This just confirms what I've read from a commenter that the "Haikyuu: FINAL" just pertains to the final EVENTS of the Nationals arc, not the whole anime itself.
TBH I'm a bit concerned about the Kamomedai v Karasuno movie. This one flowed well and didn't feel too rushed mainly, IMO, because we have so much history with Nekoma that we came into it invested in the opponent. The only player on Kamomedai we have ever even seen is Hoshiumi, and all we really know about him is he's strong, he's short, and he's a bit touchy about the latter.
@25:00 "at this point, who cares?" Is so so true. It felt like Karasuno already won when Hinata beat Kenma in this moment--he admitted to having fun. And in general, this match, this movie, felt like a love letter to anyone who's played a sport, or exercises. This was as perfect of an adaptation we could have gotten in 90 minutes.
Haikyuu! was always about mini-rooting for the other team, but that Kenma POV pulled you in so deep that in the moment the set was missed you really felt that loss so much more than you otherwise would have. It was masterful film making.
I was smiling the whole 90 mins. The way they integrated the flashbacks of the previous season hitting us with the nostalgia, really was something else. Hands down the best sports anime series!!
As a volleyball player I can tell ya the POV was way too realistic! It is exactly how you feel in a intense match hearing those calls getting bumped by your own teammate only worrying about the ball and the match it was such a beautiful movie especially when Kuroo and Tsukki had their fight with the crazy animation. Loved the whole movie - still preferred a season tho- Haikyuu might become my first place Anime for the first time in 10 years of anime.
Oh, that’s why Nishinoya got yelled at by Kageyama. Honestly, if you hadn’t commented here, I would never have known what Nishinoya actually did wrong. All I understood was that Kageyama wasn’t using polite language with his senior😅
I know it's for the money but I really hate how they plan to do the rest in a single movie. I just feel like so much stuff is going to be cut out and that they should've done a new season even maybe a shorter one.
@@andrespinanez5327 *SPOILERS AHEAD* ova would be good, but the entire Kamomedai match, the entire Brazil training arc and final match all in one movie. I really liked this movie as a manga reader, but even I got to admit the pacing was a little fast so it’s only gonna be worse in a final movie. The least they could do is do a movie with the kamomedai match and maybe even the furokodani match and the final movie be the training and final match. Or even if you cut Furokodani’s match and made this next one the Kamomedai match with the training arc and the final movie just be the final match would be ok
I think Michelle’s the first reactor to notice nekomata watching the Hinata and Kenma exchange at the end. The nekoma Karasuno rivalry never fails to make me emo
While people are talking about skipped content...this was cinema. This is how it FEELS to play volleyball and sometimes you get stuck in a rut like Hinata and you just spiral over what you're doing wrong. But then you get a good hit in, serve or recieve and you dominate!!!
That first person view at the end of the game there really captured what it is like to be at the net playing volleyball. It was emotional for me since it's hard for me to enjoy the game anymore with health issues
This match wa WHOLESOME. Maybe not as exciting or intense like vs Seijo or vs Shiratorizawa..its just homies playing highschool level volleyball, and its great. No bad blood or hostility towards each other. Just respect and good vibes all around
11:44 Hinata always does this when he's "threatened", " Intimidated" or "Challenged". This is also his reaction back in the match against Ushijima (Shiratorizawa) when he and Ushijima had like Eye to eye contact. Pure instinct to get wary or something.
Ayooo I just now finished rewatching it...I watched it on theaters though...but when I was watching again it gave me the same chills....now you uploaded this❤
For me, the first rally felt nostalgic because they used music from seasons 1 and 2 instead of what they use for season 4. It really felt like another one of those practice games at the camp they went to with nekoma
Im so glad u like that Kenma POV because your reaction was the same as mine when I watched it in the theatre! That was my fave part of the movie! Just watching it from kenma's pov makes me admire these players more. Like dang I cud feel the pressure just watching it, how much more if you're really there? Also teared up a lot of times the whole movie. Screamed everytime my baby bokuto appears on the screen.😁😍 And I agree, this was more than just a volleyball. We're not watching just to see who will move on to the next match. It's their story and we feel because we have been a part of it.❤😭 Thank you for your reactions! Really awesome to watch people have the same reaction as I did.🙂
There is one more movie coming to finish up the anime (at least that's what we know as of now). However, this movie skipped a lot of important scenes and the next movie will have to cut even more content to have a proper ending, and even then the anime can't finish the manga content because the manga goes much further. It's truly a shame because the manga is absolutely outstanding. So to everybody even mildly interested in Haikyu!! I can HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend giving the manga a shot, it will absolutely not disappoint. And I can even recommend rereading the match against Nekoma as I think the manga did a much better job at setting everything up and fleshing out important moments. Btw, the next match, Karasuno vs Kamomedai, is EASILY my favorite match in the whole manga, I REALLY hope they can do it justice somehow lmao
There’s a reason why Haikyuu!! will NEVER move out of my top 3 🔥 shi too fire. AND, I’ve read and heard there is a season 5 supposed to be coming out. It’ll be a movie again, I believe.
as a volleyball player, its refrehing to watch this anime. although we all want to win sometimes the friends we make are the best part! I've made plenty of friends from playing the sport for so long
I want you guys to please remember that Kuroo wanted the Dumpster Battle to take place so badly because of Coach Nekomata. Here we find out that he was there the first time Kuroo & Kenma went to play volleyball and in fact spoke w/ them imparting the importance that is having fun and enjoying the game which will make you a better player. Its why he said to "lower the net" so that young Kuroo could practice spiking the ball. This is something which young Kenma knew Kuroo would never forget and it would leave a lasting impact on him. And thus the reason Kuroo taught Tsukki & Hinata how to block in S2 training camp. Tsukki even asks why he's helping a rival school and Kuroo answers (jokingly) that its cuz he's always been kind (this is very true, kuroo is incredibly kind despite his joke's) & adds that he wants to see to make the Dumpster Battle happen for his coach. AND HE DID!!!😭😭😭 KUROO IS JUST AWESOME.❤
There is still more to come, because there are a lot of manga chapters left after this. Enough for either 2 seasons, or 2 movies if they squeeze content together.
Literallly, THE best moment of the movie was Hinata's high jump spike and you guys chose that moment to be the one to be edited out? Lol, such a bad choice.
the movie was amazinggg, but you guys should read about this match in the manga too cuz theres alot of backstories and match parts thats been cut from the movie
I really love the movie, I do, it's amazing and beautiful but I hate how much they cut, in most matches we get to know something from at least two or three players from other teams and the rest get their moment, but in this match we already knew every single member so there were no need for introduction to their character, we got something from everyone every single character from both teams, I knew they had to cut when they turn it into a movie, and with the time they had they did a fantastic job, but while I knew when going to see it that they cut a lot, and I even knew that my favourite parts weren't there I was still amazed at just how much they cut. I'll give examples, but it will sound a bit to harsh and that I don't appreciate the movie, I do, and I don't fault those who worked on it, they did an amazing job with what they were give, I'm only faulting the ones that decided to make it a movie, if you don't want to read criticism then it's fine, as I said it's a great movie, I really liked it but I do wish we had the many awsome or emotional moments that were cut. Everyone had their own moment or more that weren't in, Daichi, Kageyama, anyone from either team, Inokua had a way larger part, hell, even Kenma had more amazing moments. I feel they rushed to much the first set, we rarely get to see a full set of Karasuno losing, especially animated, they usually rush through them (like the 3 set in shiratorizawa that was longer in the manga while in anime they almost didn't show a single point) so even though I knew Nekoma was going to win that set I felt Karasuno was scoring more, until they showed the score board and apparently Nekoma was in the lead, I didn't feel that. Karasuno also celebrated waaay more winning the second set, and with reason, it was the first time they took a single set from them!! Also, yes, the animation and direction was amazing but every time they did a rally my first thought wasn't about the quality, it was "Wait! we are already at that rally!? but what about x,y and z rally? they were important" they rushed through the sets in a match against a defense specialist, where the rallys were made to feel looooong and eternal What also hurt me was the subtle yet significant change in Kuroo's backstory, in the manga it was all about him actually being super shy, even more than Kenma, the complete opposite to movie Kenma's "he was always like that", I was like "NoO!? What do you mean he was always like that? he wasn't", the way it was presented in the manga made me cry, I don't know it hit different. And don't get me started on the libero moments that were cut!! They usually don't get as much attention, and they cut the most coolest moments from both of them! In a match with a defense specialist team!?? There were also scenes such as Tsukki telling Kuroo "thanks to everyone it's fun" that were just a tad longer but that made it more emotional to me. And also Daichi and Kuroo had a speach that ended with "that's why we hate this guys" showing both teams smiling at each other... It just was soooo emotional to me And Kenma!! I liked the first person pov, I really do, but the faces Kenma was making, especially at Lev, they were priceless!! I know it was impossible from the get go to have every single scene, unless it was like 3 hs long, I'm aware, I'm just a bit sad that some will never read the match at it's full potential, also, I'm scared since they did that with the most anticipated match I don't know how they'll handle what's left
Okay not to spoil it, They play against this team next and then fast forward a few years Hinata and Kageyama play pro volleyball on different teams and face each other.
