For reference there's a section towards the end where I most likely misspoke about Ed Boon having a friend pass and the community harassing him with Mileena comments. When I figure out if I was misinformed I'll make sure to update here. For now take that part with a grain of salt. I'm referencing the segment between 10:27-10:31.
Most of these posts that you refer to are from either deleted/banned accounts. Going back to eds posts you can see the deletions/low quality getting filtered out. Only people who say this doesn't happen are gaslighting lol
People that say things like that have a complete disillusion with what real life is. They look at these developers and their accounts as if that’s all they are-a person who only works for that company, eats, sleeps, and does everything within that space with zero personal/real life. And I think that’s a reflection on their life-immaturity, ignorance, or all of those. I’m glad you posted this because I know a lot of us feel the same way. We see those types of messages, shake our heads, and say these people have some issues. Maybe we should point it out and speak on it more. Even though whatever we say won’t change the way those people behave, at least it was shown that not everyone within the community is like that.
The majority of us aren't like that and I think it's important for those of us who can amass any bit of a following (I'm no one but you know what I mean) to at least once in a while let some of them who like us know that we don't support that behavior and that there is a better path towards their end goals.
Im totally with you on this. People are so sensitive about a video games its very weird. The whole thing has a huge incel vibe and it doesn’t do the fighting game community any favours
It's definitely incredibly weird behavior for sure. I do what I can to point it out but it'll never go away completely. All we can do is note it and avoid it honestly.
