    Another awesome video Josh!
    Unfortunately in Canada, it’s completely outlawed to hunt at night, even for predator control. I’m pretty much apolitical, but this is what happens when a country swings too far to the left.

      Your government is allowed to hunt at night - hunt you that is. Shame how gummint is so farked up over there. Getting that way here in Oz too, but not that bad yet.

      @@intothenight1993 The pigs & dogs near the mine might have been habituated by the noises. Shooting those furthest away/closest to escape route first can get them to run your way, away from the smack of the bullet hitting, but pigs are often like quail. With deer a couple of incompetents doing runs makes survivors super twitchy (dead ones don't tell tales, one principle behind better pest control), really noticeable with more dickheads getting thermal. Does the same to farmers with all the problems said dickheads cause.

    • @intothenight1993

    • @intothenight1993
      @intothenight1993  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes I did do a tally up for the last few years but I had it on a note in my old phone and lost most of it when it died. But I n on now I got 55 cats last year.
      But this year to date I’m up to
      43 pigs
      12 cats
      18 foxes
      20 dogs.

    • @johnmead8437
      @johnmead8437 ปีที่แล้ว

      For control purposes, the impact is measured in what residual population is left, not the tally. A technicality many overlook. Often what some call control is simply shifting them around a bit & making them wary. If it shifts them off the crop long enough for it to be harvested etc , or repeat visits keep numbers below the problem threshold like acceptable calf survival, that is some control. It's not all absolutes. It's not often such a good percentage of pigs encountered are shot as is shown here.

    Thích thế ước gì đất nước mình cũng có nhiều thú rừng mà săn bắn tiếc thay ở nước mình do nạn săn bắn trái phép rồi không có y thưc bảo vệ môi trường nên giờ không còn loài vật nào sinh sống cả, rồi pháp luật cũng không cho người dân sở hữu súng đạn họ sẽ bắt hết nếu ai sở hưu súng săn hoặc súng hơi, nên thấy nước bạn cho sở hữu súng đạn các loại mình chỉ ao ước được 1 lần sở hữu 1 khẩu súng săn hoặc súng hơi bởi vì mình rất đam mê súng

      That’s a shame you can’t own guns. I hope it doesn’t get that bad over here.

    Those emus were a bit of a surprise.
    Yep, the downside of shooting out a paddock full of pigs is going around and finding the buggers later. lol
    Yeah it's "cheating" maybe, if you're out there for 'sport'. but when it comes to pest control, it's simply a better tool for the job at hand. That's where a lot of people get hung up. The difference between hunting and pets extermination is a very big change in mindset for some.
    Good nights effort all told.

      I agree totally mate. One thing I’ll add though so many people that I know will only go for the big boars in a mob and leave the little ones to grow up so they have more to shoot later. But when it comes to feral pest control you shoot as many as possible especially the sows.

    Great shooting, man. It looks like feral hog is a pest all over the world.
    Was that a very short barrel rifle {21:44}, or the cat was very big ?

      @intothenight1993  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I think they are a world wide problem. It is a short barrel. It is a Ruger American ranch rifle in 223 with a 16” barrel

      @@intothenight1993 For action shooting most people prefer the 16" barrel.
      I wonder if you have used the 6.5 mm Grendel.
