Patrick Brown Sad that these birds and most other classics are gone from our skies. Future Avgeeks are only going to know this sound from videos, never to hear it themselves
Double Daniels Thanks! I'm going to be flying this route again next month and hope to grab a window seat for some more video, and am hoping to catch a 733 again.
Kpoole35 Same here, at least once or twice as it's a common connection point between the Bay Area and Oklahoma. I'll be flying this route next month in August, but PHX-OKC, and then OKC-LAS on the return.
That's so weird they would take the gear out of the plane midflight... Just giving you a hard time, I think the word you are looking for is *extension.
No worries. I used to work in the industry for the now non-existant Continental Airlines, and I would often get the two codes mixed up at times. This particular flight's routing was HOU-OKC-PHX-SFO. I was on the OKC-PHX-SFO portion as I was returning home after a family visit in Oklahoma.
Ok, I find that strange that u made an El Paso landing into Phoenix. Ive never seen a plane or been on a plane that landed into Phoenix El Paso style, when all the flaps and the wheels all go down at the same time, then u go steep all the way down. Usually in big cities, the flaps go first, then the plane flies, then after a few minutes, they go down again little by little, then the wheels. This flight must have been delayed.
bestpilot98 But still, Ive never seen an El Paso landing made anywhere else. I dont get why they land so strange in El Paso compared to other places. Like before the runway, everything goes down all at once and the plane goes steep down really fast and then lands.
love the classic 73's flap sounds!
Holy nostalgia!! A WN -300, into Sky Harbor. I can practically smell this video
Love that sound. Miss the -300s
6:07 best part the old flaps music

Brian Webb yup miss that old bird and it’s unique flaps music
@@BrianWebb0222Oh i’ve heard this multiple times on this airline, but I wasn’t an avgeek at the time.
The whine of a 737 flap =0)
Music to my ears.
Miss that sound so much! The 737 NGs are so dull.
6:40 That the Immigrant Song by Led Zepplin?! XD
love those flaps!

Good footage

Brian Webb haha nice my Home port is PDX and i fly to OKC often, so PHX, LAS and DEN are my common layovers.
This video was uploaded on my birthday also 6:12 for gear extraction!

love the flaps !!!!!
Nice Vid!
Ok, I am sorry about the first comment. I looked up the OKC Airport code and it is actually Oklahoma City, not Oakland. Sorry about that.

Sometimes ATC tells ya to get down and slow down at the same time, so ya gotta let it all hang out to be able to comply

is it just me or it short landing?
Love those loud whiny training edge triple slotted flaps! The new planes are so boring and dull.
It’s still entertaining to hear the flaps of a max or ng, but I miss the classics.
Was that seat 15 or 16?
I was two rows behind the exit row, so I'm thinking 16 maybe?
Look at all these comments blabbering about flaps, i get it its cool
Wich runway? 26??
Jose Gamboa Not too sure actually as I'm not all too familiar with the layout at PHX
Yes it is!
Yeah, runway 26, and the plane exited off taxiway B8.
It makes me laugh
