i'm irish. brilliant game both sides. dont even have a problem with the booing of the kick at the end. its pretty much tradition to boo any kick in 7's. the crowd are drinking all day just wanna see running rugby. well played both teams.
Ireland...a class outfit, consistently
Well done Ireland 🇮🇪 👏
Well done Ireland. Wonderful to hear the GB supporters booing the final kick knowing they had lost.
Not an uncommon tactic with a lot of supporters. Don't take it too seriously.😂
It would have been the same at the other end. Irish supporters no different
@@user-hn1dq7jr2g Tell me you've never been to a rugby game in Ireland with out telling me you've never been to a rugby game in Ireland.
ah its pretty much tradition in 7's to boo a kick at goal. i'm irish and have no problem people just wanna see running rugby, however obvioulsly it was the right decision to take the points. anything else would have been madness. these are professional athletes in a professional competition. love it.
Well done ireland for stamping your authority on GB
What is core status?
Down under commentator didn’t seem to be cheering for Ireland😂
Would be great to have some neutral commentators
Ireland defeat 3 countries in one game
Lets be real here. They're only "countries" because Westminster call them that. German states like Bavaria have more autonomy than Scotland and Wales. That's why they can't compete separately in the Olympics since the Olympics charter doesn't pretend non-sovereign regions are countries.
@@Stevenbfgbut by definition they are called nations/countries so it’s not pretending that they are
@@daireoreilly2548 Define a country for me please? If you were to ask most people outside the UK, they would say a sovereign state with a seat at the UN. There is no real criteria as to why we class Wales as a country but not say Hawaii. As for a nation, that just refers to a group with a collective identity so I don't dispute they're nations. There are plenty of nations that don't have a nation state (country). The Kurds for example.
Disbanding England, Scotland and Wales on the 7s Series was catastrophic for the game in the British Isles. So many players have lost out on a career in the sport as a result. Keep the nations, then just have a GB team for the Olympics
Good point. The well organised Irish Isles are really throwing down the gauntlet to all now in world rugby in both 7’s and 15’s.
All Rugby Sevens tournaments tie into the Olympics now though due to qualification so they didn't have much of a choice.
Being Welsh I cannot support GB Sevens ,because Wales is a nation. UK is not one nation.
@@aluntudur1976 U.K. is a nation. Just look at your passport.
@@Driver2616 is Wales a nation?
Shade of bias from pommie co commentator?
How come its GB now not England Scotland wales like in real rugby?
I don't know. Maybe to match the olympics? But they will have lost a lot of supporters in Wales and Scotland, also cut 2/3rds of their pro player capacity in the same move. So opportunities for players and fans all lost in one move.
did no1 see that forward pass for the second try?
Classic GB supporters on Ireland's last kick.
The British side with half their team with Irish names. ☘️
Only 100 or so years separate them from being the same country... so its not surprising. Also only recently has Ireland become the economic power it is lots of Irish people moved to northern England for opportunity.
Not sure that stands any great scrutiny - Barretto,Kerr etc very Irish -- NOT
@@rhyswilliams4893Never the same country bubba. Gaelic Ireland's word for "English" is Sasanach or German Saxons who ruled England for almost 800 years post 4AD called it, Anglesland. The Hanoverian House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha Windsors concur.
@gerardodwyer5908 they didnt have war for independence over just the name did they though? Its was part of the Empire, just like a stack of other places
Not sure if you've noticed but part of Ireland is British
Great Britain, not so great.
There was nothing in the game, ref missed a couple of things as usual maybe didn't affect result but we'll never know
Wtf. Team GB. Why isn't there Scotland, England and Wales teams?
they aren't competitive individually
@@tighesimon And neither as a group now.
It's all about the Olympics now, have you not noticed there's no cup, bowl and plate. It's gold, silver and bronze...
@@tighesimon England were pre-covid. The change to GB has been disastrous.
Money
Not so great😂
Brits had a couple of chances to win that but bottled it.
It's a mess as it should be Team GB & NI. However NI play for Ireland at Rugby so no idea how NI players choose which Olympic 7's team they play for.
It's the same for the Olympics. Northern Irish athletes have the choice of representing Ireland or GB. Hardly a mess
Under the Olympic Charter, it's Ireland, not Republic of Ireland, just Ireland. NI athletes can choose to represent GB if they wish. But as most Olympic standard athletes from NI have usually already competed for Ireland as juniors, they tend not to change. So rugby isn't an outlier. Plus, with a far smaller population than Britain, it's a lot easier to make an Irish Olympic squad.
So, to change and choose to represent GB would be interpreted by most people in Ireland as taking a political stance, and most athletes simply don't want the hassle.
@@JGrowl-er9md thanks for explanation
Ireland every time mate
Commentator completely biased for Britain to win that
We dislike GB button
It's a poor show if the ref has to help Ireland straight from the start.
