Hiromi Omura has given us the best version to date of Un bel di that I can imagine. I saw the Handa Opera live in 2013 on Sydney Harbour for a first time and was stunned and elated then. This month Handa will present another Mme Butterfly Opera again in this iconic outdoor setting.

Thank you. I watched this on TV a few years ago. My first time for Mme Butterfly. It was so incredibly moving that it stays with me to this day. This production captures the spirit so beautifully. It has real meaning for me and as art it represents a real attachment i still have for someone. A modern adaptation that works so well, it brings such a simplicity for a modern audience as myself. It reflects the simple afternoon i spent watching it on TV and enables me to feel emotions.
