Offside is when the attacker/the opposing side is way in-front or way ahead of the defenders from the other team meaning Kai can’t score there cuz he was ahead of the defenders. I tried to explain it to my best ability hope this helps 😅
It doesn’t have to be that far ahead. Offsides on pro levels are given for mere centimeters and millimeters. Any part of the body is past the defenders and it’s offside. But yeah when you’re 5 yards past the defenders it’s blatantly offside.
Question? So whats stopping the defenders from just always playing up close to mid field then?
@@nathanfogel4608 it’s risky because of how fast players are they’ll just get in behind too easy and often, and a player will always be onside if in their own half. So even if the defensive line is entirely in your half, you can still be onside and behind them as long as you are still in your half when the ball is played through. That’s why most teams don’t play what you’re referring to as a high line, or a Very high line in your case.
@@nathanfogel4608as long as a player is behind or on the same line as the defense when the ball is played to them, they aren't offside. Since the defence is playing with their face to the ball a pass behind them is often easier to get for the attacker. You seee this with Simon his goal. Secondly if the attacker is on their own half when the ball gets played, they are never offside. So as a defender you can't go to far forward because quick attackers will destroy you.

Offside is in simple terms, just when the striker who scores recieves the ball from his teammate, striker must be behind the line of defenders of the opposing team at the moment when his teammate passes it to him.

Harry needed that score since he hasn’t ever scored in a charity match before because he always had to play in defence
When the video pauses on the replay of Kai's offside goal it's showing why it was offside, Kai was way ahead of any of the other teams defenders when Theo passed the ball to him. Kai was the closest player to the goal (other than the goalkeeper) when the ball was kicked to him so he's offside. At least one of the other teams defenders need to be in front of him (closer to the goal) when a player kicks the ball to him. Once the ball is already coming to him he can run out in front of the defenders.
Look at the pause on Simon's goal replay for comparison, Simon hangs back behind the last defender and as soon as the ball leaves the other players foot he runs out in front.
draw a line at last set of defenders if your past the line before ball is kicked your off sides

A player is offside when any body part they can play the ball with legally is behind the second to last defender when a pass is played to them. The goalkeeper is usually the furthest back so most times the offside line is behind the last outfield player. And a player cannot be offside in their own half. And when the player playing the pass is behind the second to last defender the receiver has to be behind the ball.
offside is basiclly the anti cherry picking rule so players don't just go miles ahead of the defense and score an easy goal
2:29 You just cant in front the opposing team... that's it, simple if you pause at 2:29 you can see Kai is about 20 yards in front of the other players, if that was legal than everyone would just be running towards the end...
To be specific offside is when the attacker (1) is on the opposing half, (2) and is closer to the opposing goal than both the ball and 2nd last defender (last defender is usually keeper but not always). Basically dnt be infront of the ball when u get it. But if u do, make sure 2 opposition players (minimum) are infront of you. Idk the reason why the rule been introduced wayyy back but personally from my understanding one of the perks is it eliminates cherry picking and teams just putting one player on the goal beside the opposition’s keeper lol😂
Offside rule: The attacking player can not receive the ball from his team if he starts behind the defenders of the opposing team. Kai for example. All the sidemen team were sort of in a line in the defence and Kai started the run/got the ball way behind them, making him offside. Hope that helps haha.
The Allstars need better players. Almost all on the sidemen are decent ballers
after theo got hurt it was so unfair. xqc vs ksi is unfair since they are both on the opposite sides of the athletic spectrum, despite jj having a few mistakes. but xqc had no defenders and sidemen has guys like simon and manny. I think if they bring back jidion, xqc, kai, and duke put them on team sidemen

Cherry picking is illegal in soccer/football so you can't be past the last defender otherwise players will just camp by the goalie. So you have the be line with the last defender when the ball is kicked to you

i like how everyone was very on the supportive side we'll the sidemen at least. While the guest of the YAS specially the guest was selfish didn't pass the ball like the guy name speed. Also RIP the goalie for the youtube all stars i like the other guy better. But overall this was a fun event. Also is it weird to say i didn't know who speed was till the updates on the charity match and i guess cause he was trying to clown JJ all week before hand to.
