Both versions are great bit always preferred the lyrics and tempo to this. This quality is so great
What a gift - to hear this version. Precious work of a songwriter balancing the personal with the professional...and Lou was professional to the core. This my friends, despite moi being with the VU since the Max's days, and many versions of Sweet Jane, is my fav version. Candy Says and many other aspects of emotional intelligence, are all wrapped up in this work in progress. Beatles did the same thing - etc etc etc. Hey Lou! God bless you buddy! You make songwriters proud for you being you!

Hey Buddy, this is popular for decades - decades - - - really! You can hear it all across the north of Canada in diners, bars, and cultural centers/clubs...in part because of a Canadian band Lou liked - forget the name right now ....singer named Margo - anyway - this is a treasure like you know it is. Whoever is maybe dissing love for this song is an unfortunate idiot. They are not in touch with there soul and suffer this, who they are istheir own worse enemy. :) Best to you!
