And rap is written by chanyeol
Korean Version is written by chen while lay wrote the Chinese ♥️
NO the song was originally written by ZHANG YIXING and chen and Chanyeol helped him to write the Korean version. I'm sick of exols discrediting Yixing

This is composed by Lay ..he put all his emotions into the song you can even feel that he was in pain composing it (at least I feel that as a fan who actually lived all the painful moments in 2014/2015 with EXO and I'm sure all EXO Ls feel that way this song is indeed a very special one to us) + Chen wrote the korean lyrics and Chanyeol his rap part /and Lay wrote the chinese ver.

It always takes me 10 reps of Chanyeol's rap in this to feel like I've watched it completely. Watching it again in 2020 makes me a bit sad with everything that has happened. Many won't understand why the level of dedication fans have in kpop is higher than for other musicians... It's hard to explain, but it's like you are part of a community that is working towards the same goal. It's also that many fans find support in the music itself, so there's like a mutual support system being built. When the members left, it felt like fans also lost friends that they were supporting. Even more, because you are a just a fan you don't really know the real reason why things happened. When they released Promise, it really comforted the fans because it made us feel like we were going through everything together.
Of course, it isn't an individual to individual relationship, which is why it would be easy for fans to leave if they no longer get any joy from the support they give the group. But I do think we'll get through this period of time again with all of the members, it just needs a bit more time and some toxic fans will again be pruned.

I don't understand why SM(their company) doesn't allow them to compose and write their own music its obvious they can Lay has done whole albums
They allow them to do it though lol. Lay, Chanyeol and Sehun have written, composed & produced their solo albums themselves and chen & suho have written the majority of their solo albums as well + There's a lot of group tracks written/produced by the members but at the end of the day SM choose if they like what the members have written or not (thats what the members said themselves)

Promise is very sentimental to EXO-Ls that is why reactors get a lot of requests from the fans. This song was composed with the fans in mind after the 3 chinese members left the group. It was the most painful time for the fandom and this song was just like a healing balm to the fans hearts.
