Today, langar was served to the devotees in plates made of tor leaves at the historic Taradevi temple located in Himachal's capital, Shimla. Giving information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap said that in order to preserve our culture and heritage and for a balanced environment, langar is being served in plates made of toor leaves at the Taradevi temple. The responsibility of making these plates has been given to Saksham Cluster Level Federation working in Sunni Khand under the National Rural Livelihood Mission under the District Rural Development Authority. They were given an order to make five thousand plates in the first phase. The district administration is making all efforts towards strengthening the rural economy and promoting employment opportunities to self-help groups.
