    I've got a telecaster affinity by squire. It was a little rough in the beginning. I realize it has ceramic pickups. But I paid a little bit of money to have it set up it plays really nice and the body's already routed out for a humbucker if I want to put it in on the neck position. And the satin finish the guitar literally feels good in your hand.

  • @OldStreetDoc
    @OldStreetDoc ปีที่แล้ว +8

    That’s a PRIMO candidate for modding. Go to say though, that’s one of the more janky looking control cavities I’ve seen in a good while on a fresh out of the factory guitar. Some of those solder joints looked a bit sketchy. But nothing a little tinkering can’t address. Modding can be a LOT of fun. And if it weren’t for Squires being an affordable test-bed option to learn and work on, I likely would never have had the nerve to give it a try. Now… I’m more than a little bit hooked.
    To be completely honest, I hadn’t noticed that Squire had a HB ‘Esquire’ out. I’m thinking I may need to give one a try!
    Enjoy, Landon! 👍🏼

    Kind of silly they missed off the pickup selector. Even the original Esquire had a pickup selector wired up to give 3 different sounds from the one pickup.
    On this they could have used the switch to give you series, parallel and split sounds from the one pickup.

Sonic is something like light speed away from Bullet. I learned today ... from another TH-cam video ... that Basswood is actually an amazing wood. That is, the select Basswood. The crap basswood is what the Bullet Tele bodies are made of. Thanks a lot Fender. Poplar is a far better choice than crap level heavy basswood. Now they tell me ... Anyway, Sonic seems like a good buy. Good bye

    It amazes me how people jump on the bandwagon when someone does a video on a guitar or laptop computer or cell phone or BBQ grill. Everyone starts downing the bullet squires and some say yeah I took all the junk out and put new pick ups and pots, switches. Why buy a squire and spend 400 hundred or more dollars on it and start bragging. It is what it is and for someone learning or someone wants to get a guitar that they can afford just to go back to their youth day's and pretend again like a lot of us done when we got our first guitar and some like me still have one of my guitars from the 60's and it still a good guitar slim hollow body electric with vibrato and all original nothing changed but strings it's a 1966 Guild my daddy bought it for himself because he played live on the radio in the 50's but he wanted to see if I would pick it up and I did joined a band in 68 and played until 1972 made one record which done OK in Europe but not at all here at home as usual the Americans wanted British and the British wanted American. But I hadn't really played in all most 50 years. So buy the guitar you want and let everyone enjoy whatever guitar they want and can afford.

    If Squire are made by Fender, why not include a Fender decal and squire written with ih it? Gretsch did so with their Streamline Gretsch guitrars , so at least the buyer gets Gretscch on the headstock.

    Can you please make a video about japanese guitars, about their quality, how they compare to mexican and usa made guitars, cheap japanese fenders and expensive ones. Its unexplored world for me, and for some other people too i think. I read a lot about them but never have ability to play or hold one.

    i can’t wait to mod my esquire and put a tele bridge in the neck… ? the guitar sounds great, i just fundamentally have a problem with the concept of a one pickup guitar. is the bridge pickup literally in the same place as a conventional tele?

    Just picked up the affinity telecaster deluxe from 2022 they are making great guitars right now my first ever telecaster and I love it pretty on par with my Gibson and my Japanese 60's strat. It's awesome stock but I'm considering putting a Gibson 57 in bridge and a tele deluxe cunife in neck orange drop cap only because I've always liked the idea of a Gibson fender hybrid.

    Edit: Also have a fender champion 40 which has seen better days but still rocking on

    Wasnt happy with the quality on the one i bought the other day. Mine was pretty close to a lemon. If i didnt do repairs and setups for a living i would have returned it. The worst part was a ridge of wood in the back of the neck almost 2mm tall that hadnt been noticed before the put on the sealer coat. Must have been made on a Friday at 4:45...

    Video breakdown: Pros--Good jam. Cons--Bad toe jam... It's like when someone shares a pic of their new guitar, but all you can look at is their not-attractive feet that are in the frame. It's the Train wreck syndrome, but with feet. Um, anyway, thanks again Mr. Bailey for another thoughtful review, but you can leave out the footnotes in future videos. Please... 🦶😉
