It's the best decision we ever made for our family. Did sink toilet and shower combo. Have had it for 3 years. No issues at all and can handle Charmin toilet paper.
does this need city permits to install and tie into the existing plumbing? can i be used on the same floor and pump from a different room vs up from basement?
What happens if there is an issue with the macerator system? I’ve seen reviews that toilet paper gets stuck or they need to replace. If it’s behind the wall and drywalled in, how are you able to access it?
I can actually answer that for you, what I did was NOT drywall the section in front of the pump which is directly behind the toilet. I left a hinged panel painted the same as the room and when I need to access the pump simply unhook and remove the toilet lift up the hinged panel and I full access to the pump.
Looks like have a shower and sink attached to your system...could you share any additional info specific to how you set up the venting system for each.
As someone with part of their job is to maintain buildings… please do not put this behind a wall. The company I work for has quite a few of these behind a wall and it’s so much more of a pain in the neck when these things are behind a wall so if something goes wrong with them expect a increase in your bill because you have to cut into the wall, or if the pump fails and leaks well self explanatory.. leave it behind the toilet but not inside a wall.
How tall did you make the base for the shower? Also is there a video of you installing the shower pan? Also can you tap into a 3/4” line instead of a main sewer line?
Have you come up with a fix for the 38700 ser. unit ? the reverse flow seal not seating causing the pump to surg on and off ???????????????????????????
I live in Florida (no basements). I am looking into installing one of these outside for an outdoor toilet near the pool deck so people dont have to run inside. Do you know if I can hook the discharge into the 2" cleanout cap that will be right next to the toilet? That is the only option I can think of without destroying the foundation of the house. Thanks
You can hook the discharge up to any sewer line that is properly sloped and plumbed to code (just don't turn a dry vent stack into a wet one if that's not allowed). If you do use a sani-T clean out then you will lose the a ility to use that clean out to unplug things. I would probably add another sani-T on top so I could break things up if needed.
I wonder if the macerator unit could be positioned lower. By that I mean cut or break up a small amount of concrete and put the unit say 8 to 10 inches down thus eliminating the need for a raised shower or bath. The toilet connection would then need to be elbowed down to reach the inlet port of the macerator..
...mine has been installed since 2008..I am on my 3rd macerator...they are about $400. My recent problem is that my toilet seems to be leaking at the bottom of the toilet...more like "seeping". I tightened the screws, but one of them either stripped, or broke...any suggestions?
What happens when the pump breaks? How do you get there? Knock the wall down no service access up against the blind wall. Could you put it on another wall? That's not blind but against the bricks. You and get to the pomp where it breaks
I have a question, how does this works with toilet paper put into the toilet? Does the macerator takes cares of it, or the toilet paper needs to be disposed in a trash can...also, whats the minimun space clearance to have it installed
*Then you didn't do everything right. What is it with people nowadays. Have you forgotten how words work? Lying doesn't alter reality, if you do a plumbing job and have a leak, you absolutely did not do everything right.*
My only concern with this is longevity of the macerator. Like anything mechanical, it wears down and breaks. If it’s behind a fully finished wall, it’s a pain to replace. Doable, but wondering if it’s worth saving busting up the concrete.
That all fine and good but make sure that you get a parts manual .. and that the reverse flow valve is a variable for replacement .. it is the first item to fail on the unite .. and the pump will keep surging .
Hello we have one of these toilet in our basement and I’m doing some research on it and when I plugged it in it made a really loud loud, grinding kind of noise. Is That caused by the reverse valve?
bad decision for placing that unit in the back of a wall that you will finish making it inaccessible for repair down the line. Just make a finished box behind the toilet BEFORE having the pipes go into the wall and this way you will have peace of mind for the future.
Make sure that that reverse flow valve is replaceable and that it is availably .. it's the first thing to go !!! ..other wise your stuck with a $ 800 dollar ..peace of crap !

Do you have your sink and shower going into the pump on one side or are they on their own?
Hi. I may go this route for my garage suite Reno. Does the toilet make much noise when it slices and dices and pumps?
@@mikecabral7436 they are all together on the other side of the wall where the macerator is located.
@@loopholelifestyle it makes just as much noise as a regular toilet. It's a different sound but same noise level.
Well that’s a relief it can handle charmin toilet paper. Can it handle cashmere?
That is a nice video ! Thank you for installing our product ! Sorry it took us so long to see it !
You need a ball valve I believe just outside of the discharge though for possible maintenance. Other than that you covered it all real fast. Thanks!
Thanks for the vid! Going to be installing one of these here right away. Good to come across videos that aren’t filled with 45 minutes of fluff 🔥
If you install one of these don't put it in the wall behind the toilet. Put it some where that you can easily service it or replace it if needs be.
Maybe an access panel like they do in Europe? Or on the backside of the wall...
Behind the wall is nicer looking and much more quiet. As long as you have an access panel you will be OK for future repairs.
Fantastic video. Covers all the basics and answers a couple questions that I had about my upcoming install.
Great instruction. Thank you for the time and effort you took to make this video and share it with us. Greetings from Croatia.

3:39 that’s all it took to cover everything you need to know! Great video! Thanks!
Any chance you have a pic of the finished shower? I'm doing the same build in my basement but the toilet and sink are swapped.
Just wondering how loud the pump is? Is it intrusive at all?
Can I connect the Saniflo waste line to an existing sink drain? I am moving the next over and will have this drain unused. Thanks

@@suuupretty Currently just under 2 years it's been active. Roughly about 1800 all in for pump, toilet, tank and pipes.
@@bkkcanuckExcellent idea, going to do that for mine when I install

The specs are based on your shower pan. Your pan will determine the specs.

the tub is tricky bc it has too have a 6 inch fall correct. would a clawfoot tub work ?
For the shower could you have dug into the concrete to put the p trap in the ground instead of building that platform?
How do you secure the toilet over a heated tile floor without damaging the heating system? Thanks

That discharge tube seems to narrow. I am thinking the tank will grind the waste.
Is there a check valve built into the unit?
So what do you do if/when you have to service the Saniflo due to a malfunction? Do you have to rip the wall down to get at it?

I was actually thinking of building the whole floor in the bathroom on a raised platform and that way you don’t have the step up shower issue.

Hi what if I don’t have a place for the discharge pipe to go dump all the stuff out ? I’m in my garage plz help !
I have a question, how does this works with toilet paper put into the toilet? Does the macerator takes cares of it, or the toilet paper needs to be disposed in a trash can...also, whats the minimun space clearance to have it installed
Its rated for toilet paper. NO PAPER TOWELS OR TAMPONS. I decided no to put toilet paper in mine just to be sure.
How do you finish out the wall behind the toilet so the macerator is accessible for service?
My guess would be a guillotine door that fit into a U track. Slide vertically up to reveal opening
What happens when you flush and the power goes out?
It's not going to work ha.. you would need a generator until the power comes back on
I don’t fully understand the venting process any input on that
Can you use a Bidet with this?
I don't see why not... It's just more water
Could you share the specs you used to build your shower base?
How do I know/find the existing vent system/pipe? Thanks.
This needs a full ball valve on the discharge line from the pump
What if the shower goes on the left
How does putting the outlet facing the inside of room when the pump is on the outside of the wall 🤭
I am currently on this type of project in my bsmt, what size discharge line is recommended?
In the UK we call hose clamps, jubilee clips for some strange reason
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Would you have any recommendations for size and location of access panel?
Merci beaucoup ✅
Anyone use this in a tiny house / mobile set up?
I’ve always thought this would be the best way to achieve “real” mobile plumbing toilet wise
Ty
Thanks
Isn't the Y upside down??? 😮
slightly, primer all over and an upside down fitting... handy andy!
What about if you did everything right but for some odd reason behind the toilet base it's very small drips of water coming out. Any suggestions

to service the pump i guess you need to destroy your wall ?
Does the pump hold a shitty scent?
Great system but toilet water is too low. Shit stains the bowl and it is 😝
There is so much wrong with this

Lol $1400
Thank you for the education
