The old school, no practice events is what made MLF absolutely AMAZING!!!!! That’s the real stuff that relates to the weekend club angler. You got a win coming in 2025 my man. Rest up with the fam and hit’em hard next year.
I watch a lot of old tournaments on TH-cam and I agree, those old Mlf tournaments where they didn’t know the lake and had 30 minutes to graph were the best. Those events showed who really could catch ‘em.
Great video Mark, as usual. Best of the house in my opinion. That’s no shade on the other three guys I just like your approach and delivery. Always interesting. Looking forward to watching you on tour next season. Good luck to you!
Mark with this time off enjoy your family, get on your knees and talk to God and have Him guide your way. Gather your thoughts think of a plan that suits you best and go get it done next year. You'll kill it at Rayburn and you won't look back!! You and your family have an excellent Thanksgiving!! Tight Lines.
I'm late to watching this video, but I got watch my man MDJ, the 1 word that best describes you is class #1, the team series this year's I liked it more than the 3 team individual boats, and it was live which was a plus, but my favorite was the old cup series where you had 8 guys qualifying 3 times & the sudden death derbies, I believe that's everyone's favorite! I knew you were going to say the wacky & the raddle trap, but not chatterbait, but I thought you loved the swim jig over the chatterbait my bad, your fortunate to have a buyer for your boat every year some these anglers aren't as fortunate! Hope 2025 will be your winning yr!👍🎣
I love watching team series. It’s a lot of fun watching you anglers interact with one another opposite of what we see in the regular season when the interaction’s are mostly negative protecting areas. And the trap and chatter bait MDJ have become some major players for me. Always love the content.
Now that's a great and realistic view of F F S! I've always liked your down to earth assessments. I'm ready go smack em, and I'm ready to see the 2d make it back.
I like the one-period-only FFS format. It gets the Pros back into instinctive fishing and using their fish-hunting skills to catch bass, which will help with fishing pressure. I understand what you're saying about FFS, but you can't deny that FFS has had a significant effect on catching more bass than it did previously when you weren't using FFS. The stats are out there, and FFS has been helpful for pros using this system who has used this tool as their primary means to catch bass.
@18:19 thank you for everything. You just said last week I had a conversation with my mentor about tournament fishing cuz he used to be a pro way back in the day and is still sponsored. Mr. James Buchanan anyways he was explaining everything and for a little bit I got discouraged but that's not what he was telling me, he was more saying something along the lines of what you were saying and I really do appreciate it.
I don’t care for forward facing sonar to me. They’re letting the locator do all the work. I really appreciate Mark what you doing and what you say I’m right behind you. Keep it up.
@markdanielsjr We as viewers really enjoyed the cup events. Watching guys figure it out on the fly without days of practice or outside info. I think MLF got away from what made them popular. I also really enjoyed the Circuit Breaker series FLW did. Been a fan of yours since then. Good luck in 25' bro!!
Hey Mark, happy holidays to you guys. I saw you with George Poveramo and you went to the bahamas. Can't believe that was your first saltwater experience. My question and suggestion is when are you guys going to do a trip with Adrian? That would be very cool. Just a thought.
Hey Keith, thanks for watching bro. I grew up on the Ocean and have been fishing the salt my whole life. That was my first time fishing the Bahamas. Big thanks to my buddy GP 💪🏾
I would love to see NO FFS ON THE BOAT FOR PRACTICE & FIRST ROUND I think it will be enough to cull the ones solely depending on FFS helping the guys who can fish. And also help up the amount watching live and watching after. By helping everyone feel like they got something they wanted and feel better
I miss the old School, no practice events, I loved those with MLF. I prefer that vs what is there today. I do like the team tournaments those are fun to watch. Also the team events with each one in a different boat...those are fun too. I wish MLF would bring back the no practice events.
1 it will definitely change the lure industry. 2. if there is camera they will focus on those guys who head to banks because that what viewers want so if you want coverage there you go.
I think I still like the way BASS is doing it. Restrict to one FFS transducer, only one trolling motor, none mounted to the power poles, and limited screens.
No sense in having more than one FFS transducer. Have one screen up front for FFS and 2 at the console, one for mapping and one for side scan/down scan/2D. If you can't catch fish with all that, you don't need to be fishing, especially for a living.
Has MLF told you how they will enforce the FFS for one period rule ? Will your referee have to step up and look at your graphs during each period ? That is a beautiful boat too. I might have taken it with the wrap left on it and just covered your name on it.
I have a nitro 750 and it is handicap boat Big wide. Steps. Step downs. I put a hot foot in it power steering 150 EFI MC. I would like to show it to you. How do I
The only thing that would make some of the viewers happy is if everyone went down the bank. They relate to those kinds of fishing because it takes zero skills
I genuinely think that people have to adapt to New Technology to some Degree....I mean when are they gonna start putting you in Electric Boats....Maybe that should be the rule....if you drive an Electric Boat...you get FFS? Although I hate the idea myself....
I'm all for it. It's okay if that is what it "looks" like. We know that there are rules in place so that isn't what is happening. We can be told the guys are out there doing it old-school. Nothing the commentators can get over to the crowd. Thats all people want is to know they are out there doing it old-school. Live scope changed the game of fishing. I get that it is a skill but imagine being a viewer that can't afford such a thing. The heart of fishing IS and always was the poor mans sport. What does a kid think growing up poor think? I'll tell you what he thinks, that he could be a professional too if he could just see all the fish. HOW does that help in a survival situation? To me that actual sport of fishing is about what alpha of the herd can go out there with a pole and string and catch the most fish. It's primal. Theres a whole whole lot of money being put into it by big tech companies, many of which started small and became massive entities in the sport. A lot of them were just put in a situation where they need to remain competitive and they speak out against using it. There so much more advantage to forward facing sonar. Being able to see you bait, where you are in the water column... being able to SEE when something is looking at it so you can play with the cadence. I wont believe for one second that isn't a massive advantage. I mean if nothing is looking at your lure you can retrieve and cast again FAST and cover way way more water. Just take the sonar away and those same guys have no idea where in the column there bait is without lots of practice. OLD SCHOOL practice. No clue if anything is looking at it. Do you mess with the cadence? I mean I don't know, we'll see how it goes though. The way you describe it with ppl out there marking practice waypoints and stuff and triangulating, all that sounds way better. I fish in a small bass club with a bunch of old timers and nobody in my bass club uses that stuff.. thankfully. It's pretty well spoken against. A sonar system like that would cost more than every fishing related thing I own lol as a viewer, I will notice. The forward facing sonar problem was so bad that people would go out there and wouldn't even CAST if they didn't see something on the sonar. That is what people are going to notice. A split screen where there are just 2 guys out there flashlighting... like that IS the line being crossed as a viewer. You cant even explain how an underwater sonar works without using a flashlight as a reference... or w.e bullshit ur trying to come up with right now, isn't it much easier to just say "envision a flashlight." I mean, that's how you READ that damn thing. I have an some ULTRA down scan imaging shit because thats what I can afford. It's still a flashlight lol it's what I use it for... marking way points of structure in practice so I can hit it at the tournament. EVERYTHING you describe is what I CAN do with my cheap down imaging... lining up and triangulation shit.. THAT'S what I do bro Lol! If you guys go out there and WIN doing THAT.. THAT'S what the viewer cares about. Cause I like to think that MAYBE I could do it too... and I DO win sometimes. Just on a much smaller scale and on a much more even playing field lol This is my first time hearing about the change and I'm happy for it. I kind lost my love of competitive fishing there for a bit... but maybe this will be a resurgence for me. Over the past 3-4 years I went from falling in love with fishing to falling out of love with fishing quite rapidly. The change is big and it's a good one. A compromise. We'll see how it goes. Goodluck out there BigDawg
Most everyday anglers believe FFS is cheating like aluminum bats in base ball this way you will be able to see the true best anler no more chasing bass down it's good for the sport and I believe there definitely be less screen showing in my opinion but time will tell
No mark the most important reason pros use ffs is so they can see the fish and if there off shore and using there brain to triangulate how they set up on a piece of structure and they figure out how to catch them that’s called fishing not using a freaking video screen as far as people are still gonna complain I don’t ever remember anybody complaining about people like David Fritz who in my opinion was one of the greatest off shore crank bait fishermen in the world
I stopped your video at the 6:53 mark.....If I only had 1 period to use it....I will be marking fish like crazy to go back too for the next 2 periods. I'm just trying to think an angler with money on the line to make a living for there family.
I THINK THE 360* WILL BE UTILIZED ALOT MORE.....JUST LIKE I THOUGHT FFS WOULD BE ONLY ALLOWED FOR ONE PERIOD....GARMIN'S & HUMMINBIRD'S ON DECK!!!!!!!...IF THEY DON'T CONSIDER 360* AS FFS
its all the old timers complining, its gonna be the same guys kicking butt doing there thing, i feel like the lack of viewership is due to the leagues slacking on advertising, there websites are straight trash and so unorganized to
Appreciate the positivity, but I think you’re way off base with the “if I can do it, you can”. That’s like me telling a young person in their 20s “because I bought a property 15 years ago, you should be able to”. The math just doesn’t math anymore. It’s not debatable.
The old school, no practice events is what made MLF absolutely AMAZING!!!!! That’s the real stuff that relates to the weekend club angler. You got a win coming in 2025 my man. Rest up with the fam and hit’em hard next year.

Mark is salt of the earth! Still my favorite pro fisherman. We will be pulling fpr you next year!
I enjoy the team tournament! I think guys that fish Wednesday nighters can really relate. Thanks for the positivity great video!
Mark, I truly appreciate your transparency. Great video! Keep it up, big dog!
Love the old school no practice! Keep it 💯 and we will be here for you ! Can't wait to see you at redcrest in Alabama.
Team events have been great. The drama between teammates and the continued discussions have been awesome to watch and listen too.
Great video Mark, as usual. Best of the house in my opinion. That’s no shade on the other three guys I just like your approach and delivery. Always interesting. Looking forward to watching you on tour next season. Good luck to you!
Thanks bro! Appreciate the support. I’m going to do my best!

The team events were awesome to watch there kinda like when y’all meet up to fun fish but tournament style
Now that's a great and realistic view of F F S! I've always liked your down to earth assessments. I'm ready go smack em, and I'm ready to see the 2d make it back.

Man I wish my shop was that clean 😆
Boy, I love that boat you are sitting in. I love the colors. Really sharp rig.
I greatly appreciate you staying positive on here…..I appreciate the REAL….but I appreciate the positive!
Great video as always Mark
@18:19 thank you for everything. You just said last week I had a conversation with my mentor about tournament fishing cuz he used to be a pro way back in the day and is still sponsored. Rooting for you my Mark! 100th comment!
I agree the cups were the best to watch as a fan especially the sudden death day
I’m sure the team event is a lot of fun to fish
The rattle trap is my favorite. Great search bait. It can be fished deep or shallow.
Thanks you ! Have a great off season. See you next year 🎣
Ur a good dude man. I hope u win a tournament bud. I think the new format will help ya
7:30….working your bait huh?😂😂😂
I like the Team series. Was telling Sprague just a couple weeks back I think it gives viewers an inside we don’t get in regular events.
Rat L Traps from the homie bill 🔥🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
You need to send your boy Obedie a boat so he can replace rootbeer.
Good catching up at the Toyota Tournament bro!
Always bro 👊🏾
My favorite fisherman!
I was at the Toyota booth at the Redcrest in North Carolina when the young lady introed MDJ. I yelled “MDJ is the man”. Big fan then and still am.
🙏🏾🙏🏾
@markdanielsjr We as viewers really enjoyed the cup events. Watching guys figure it out on the fly without days of practice or outside info. I think MLF got away from what made them popular. I also really enjoyed the Circuit Breaker series FLW did. Been a fan of yours since then. Good luck in 25' bro!!
Mark and the boys will probably catch more with out ffs. These guys are fisherman, they get it. They still have waypoints, down ,side and 2 d
Thank you Mark for your views good luck next year.
I think for all MFL gets wrong they definitely got the life scope problem fixed ..I believe it works so well Bass we be next 🐠🐟 Fish On guy ❤
Indiana hit squad pulling for you on 2025, yee-ta-dee!!😂👍🏼🏆💯💪🏼

Man you better say floating worm man lol I watched you kill them on that
If you’re watching this and haven’t seen circuit breaker you’re blowing it!
Is it going to be live
How much would next years boat be at the end of the season? Love the vids bro!
85K. Thanks for watching
I miss the old School, no practice events, I loved those with MLF. I prefer that vs what is there today. I do like the team tournaments those are fun to watch. Also the team events with each one in a different boat...those are fun too. I wish MLF would bring back the no practice events.
Will be looking to get that 2025 boat from ya !
1 it will definitely change the lure industry. 2. if there is camera they will focus on those guys who head to banks because that what viewers want so if you want coverage there you go.
I got a feeling we will see the 360 make a huge comeback
What color boat are you going to pick this year, coming I think you should pick a boat that is purple read freak
It’s mostly Carbon Mist!! Stay tuned I’ll certainly be posting it here
I think I still like the way BASS is doing it. Restrict to one FFS transducer, only one trolling motor, none mounted to the power poles, and limited screens.

Yes our Boat officials will be definitely monitoring this
@@MarkDanielsJr Ok, Hey go win one this year for us.
I say it all the time. Live bass fishing is boring to most people! It isn’t FFS
They just make half the tournaments no screens 😂
I have a nitro 750 and it is handicap boat Big wide. Steps. Step downs. I put a hot foot in it power steering 150 EFI MC. I would like to show it to you. How do I
Why would he want to see your boat when he's sports $100k+ rigs every year.
I get it. I'd have a hard time standing up against something so wrong that paid me so much too. What a conundrum. 😢
😅🤣…if you started the video suddenly at 12:52…😲😐😵💫🤔🤔🤔
YOOOOOO!!!......
Favorite thing to watch on tv while sitting on the zero turn?
I just like listening to the mower work lol
I said it last year and I'll say it again going into this season : MDJ will win at LEAST 1 derb this year.
Do you all have a exercise when you’re on tournaments
Not really, but we certainly need to start. Running, push ups, etc
Did you say prime mates?
I don't care what the rules are. I'll be watching you and old dustin
Definitely appreciate ya buddy 👊🏾
How much is the deposit on one of your boat, brother. 😊
10K
We are ready to see you hold that blue trophy in 2025.....
😂😂😂. They’re red, but me too 🙏🏾
The only thing that would make some of the viewers happy is if everyone went down the bank. They relate to those kinds of fishing because it takes zero skills
So what’s the boat going to cost me?
85K
Damn! Who got money like that!
I watched part of one team event this year and didn’t watch another.
I genuinely think that people have to adapt to New Technology to some Degree....I mean when are they gonna start putting you in Electric Boats....Maybe that should be the rule....if you drive an Electric Boat...you get FFS? Although I hate the idea myself....
Come out here and pick up some stripers!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Rooming with dc
Always 💯
What's up mdj
