ইসলাম আসার পর আরবের হাজার হাজার বছরের সংস্কৃতি পালনের ভেতর ব্যাপক পরিবর্তন এসেছিল, তেমনি পার্সী সভ্যতায়ও একই ভাবে পরিবর্তন এসেছিল সেখানে ইসলাম প্রতিষ্ঠিত হবার পর । ঠিক তেমনিভাবে এই অঞ্চলেও ইসলাম আশার পর মুসলিমদের বাঙালী কালচার পালনেও পরিবর্তন আসে । এভাবেই পুরো বিশ্বে ইসলাম প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছে এরকম প্রতিটি অঞ্চলে মুসলিমদের ভেতর সেই অঞ্চলের সংস্কৃতিক পরিবর্তন এসেছে। অর্থাৎ, ইসলাম এর সাথে সাংঘর্ষিক বিষয় গুলোকে বাদ দিয়ে অবশিষ্ট বিষয় গুলো নিয়ে প্রতিটি অঞ্চলের মুসলিমরা তাদের আঞ্চলিক সংস্কৃতিকে নতুন ভাবে গড়ে তোলে। একটা বিষয় বুঝতে হবে, রাজনৈতিক ব্যক্তিবর্গ ও রাজনৈতিক সিদ্ধান্ত বাদ দিয়ে পুরো বিশ্বে সাধারণ মুসলমানদের ভেতর ইসলামিক মূল্যবোধ প্রথম অগ্রাধিকার পায় এরপর যার যার নৃতাত্ত্বিক জাতীয়তা বা সংস্কৃতিক মূল্যবোধ লালন করে। এখন আসি বাঙালি জাতীয়তা নিয়ে, ধরুন পৃথিবীতে প্রাণের অস্তিত্ব বলতে যদি শুধু মানুষ ই থাকত তবে সেই ক্ষেত্রে প্রাণী বা মানুষ বলতে একি জিনিস ই বোঝা যেত । কিন্তু তার পর পর যদি আরো বেশ কয়েকটি ভিন্ন ভিন্ন প্রাণের অস্তিত্বের আবির্ভাব ঘটে তখন কি প্রাণী হিসেবে শুধু মানুষকেই বুঝানো হবে ? নিশ্চয়ই না , তখন মানুষ শুধু প্রাণী কুলের একটা অংশ হিসেবেই বিবেচিত হবে । মানুষ কে শুধু মানুষ বলেই ডাকতে হবে । ঠিক সেভাবেই, ইসলাম আশার পূর্বে এই অঞ্চলে বাঙালি বলতে শুধু হিন্দু ধর্মাবলম্বী রাই ছিলেন যার কারণ হিন্দু আর বাঙালি কালচার মাখামাখি করে গড়ে ওঠে । কিন্তু বাঙালির ভেতর ইসলাম প্রতিষ্ঠার পর এখন বাঙালি কালচার কে হিন্দুত্ব সাথে মিশিয়ে চিন্তা করা যাবেনা বরং হাজার বছরের বাঙালি সংস্কৃতি থেকে হিন্দুত্ব বাদ দিয়ে যেটা দাঁড়ায় সেটাই খাটি বাঙালি সংস্কৃতি যা মুসলমান এবং হিন্দু উভয় ধর্মাবলম্বী পালন করতে পারবে । ইসলাম আসার পর এই অঞ্চলের মুসলিমরা হিন্দুত্ব বাদ দিয়েছে বাঙালিত্ব নয়। পার্থক্য করতে গেলে খুব বেশি এতটুকু বলা যেতে পারে 'মুসলিম বাঙালি' আর 'হিন্দু বাঙালি' ।
আসসালামু আলাইকুম, ভাই আপনার বিতর্ক শুনেছি অনেকবার। বিশেষ করে শুক্রবার সকাল ১০টায় বিটিভিতে। এখন আপনার কথাগুলো শুনছি অন্য আরেক মাধ্যমে। আপনার কথাগুলোতে অনেক কিছুই শেখার আছে। তবে যারা আমাদের দেশের তথাকথিত এলিট! তারা তাদের সন্তানকে ইংরেজি মধ্যমে পড়ায় এরা আমাদের সংস্কৃতি কিছুই বুঝেনা। কিন্তু দেখুন আমরা যারা গ্রামে পড়াশোনা করেছি বিশেষ করে ২০০৫ সালের আগে যারা স্কুল কলেজ শেষ করছি তারা অনেক নৈতিক বিষয় জানি এবং পালন করি। উদাহরণ হিসেবে বলি, ফজরের নামাজ পড়ে পবিত্র কুরআন তেলায়ত শেষ করে নাস্তা তারপর প্রাইভেট পড়ে স্কুল কিংবা কলেজে যেতাম। শিক্ষদের পিতৃতুল্য মনে করতাম। কিন্তু এর পরের জেনারেশন? কিন্ডারগার্ডেন এদের ধর্ম কিংবা নৈতিক শিক্ষা কিছুই দিতে পারেনি। এখন তো শিক্ষা বলে কিছুই নেই শুধুই পাশ। আগে ছাত্র বললে বাস কিংবা ট্রেনে সব ফ্রী কিন্তু এখন ছাত্র বললে পিটুনি দেয়। আমার ইংরেজি জ্ঞান সীমিত তাই তিরিশ পেরিয়ে ইংরেজি ভাষা দক্ষতার জন্য (IELTS) এর জন্য বছর খানেক পড়াশোনা করি। সেখানে যারা শেখান তারা কতটুকু বাংগালী পোশক কিংবা সংস্কৃতি লালন করেন তা হয়তো সেখানে না গেলে জানতাম না। আমাদের সবচেয়ে বড় সমস্যা পরের কালচারা ধার করতে আমরা পছন্দ করি। হায়রে বাঙালি?

Ahmed Sofa's 'Bengal Musolmaner Mon' pretty concisely draws the long reared pathways of this east Bengal Muslim's psychology; the way it was influenced and shaped from the medieval age to the 90's and I could see some facets or interpretations which were drawn here in this video which have quite a bit of similitude akin to Sofa's essay.
I remotely don't have your intellectual caliber but I have thought about this for years. I remember the unspoken words during varsity days that in order to prove myself as a "oshamprodayik muslim" i was supposed to attend puja mondops around university halls and were supposed to attend "mongol shovajatra". I grew up in village in the first decade of my life. i can't remember any "mongol shovajatra" as some precondition to celebrate boishakh. but within 1 decade it became "hajar bochorer bangali oitijjho". even the boishakhi mela became secondary ingredient of boishakh. if it were named "anondo shovajatra" instead of "mongol" ; it could be a celebration for all. no it had to be "mongol" shovajatra which is directly contradicting to the first and foremost condition of Islam. And cultural elites will demand Muslims to compromise their base of the faith to achieve "purity" as Bangali. the dilemma and frustration an average bangali muslim has to go through -even a hindu person with sympathy would feel some pity for bangali muslims if they could realize
Here's a hypothesis: a person has successfully embraced their own moral code only when he can comfortably be somewhere with a conflicting moral code. For example, if the Hindu person happily attends his friend's eid celebration invitation (without eating meat there) or a muslim attends the 'mongol' shovajatra with his hindu friend, because deep down both of them know that supporting the other person or enjoying the moment will not damage their conviction in their own moral codes, without thinking that their moral code is superior than the others. (Of course people have their own personal choices and should not be judged based on what they decide to do or not do as long as it doesn’t harm others.)
But here's this thing, mongol Shovajatra was actually started by Muslims, based on the Bengali New Year celebration which was also found by Muslim ruler, Akbar! Which technically means you're following your own culture and religion while you're taking Hindus in your religous festivals yet you're not participating in their religous rituals at all

Dear Dr. Faham, Excellent video. But I couldn't share it with many of my contacts because of use of one word that is not compatible for a civic discourse. The use of that word was totally unnecessary and without it, the message wouldn't be at all compromised. মহাশয় শরৎচন্দ্র চট্টোপাধ্যায় "বাঙালি ও মুসলমান দের মধ্যে খেলা" প্রসঙ্গে যে কাহিনী টি লিখেছেন, স্থান কাল পাত্রের ব্যাপার টা মাথায় রাখতে হবে। কাহিনী টি ভারতের বিহার রাজ্যের ভাগলপুরে উৎস। বিহার রাজ্য টি হিন্দি ও উর্দু ভাষাভাষী অঞ্চল। একদা ভাগলপুরে প্রচুর বাংলা ভাষা ভাষী হিন্দু শ্রেণীর মানুষ বসবাস করতেন। বিকালে খেলার মাঠে বাংলা ভাষী দের সঙ্গে উর্দু ভাষী মুসলমান ছেলে দের মধ্যে খেলা হয়। ঘটনা ক্রমে খেলার একদিকে বাংলা ভাষী হিন্দু বাঙালি ছেলে আর অপরদিকে উর্দু ভাষী মুসলমান ছেলে দের মধ্যে খেলা টি হয়। কিন্তু শরৎচন্দ্র হিন্দু মুসলমান ছেলে দের মধ্যে খেলা হয়েছে এই বাক্য টি লেখেন নি। ওনার বলার বা লেখার প্রধান উদ্দেশ্য ছিল বাঙালি বনাম ওখানকার ভূমিপুত্র উর্দু ভাষী মুসলমান ছেলে দের মধ্যে খেলা। আর উনি সেটাই লিখেছেন। হিন্দিভাষী বিহারী হিন্দু দের সঙ্গে খেলা হলে উনি নিশ্চয় লিখতেন বাঙালি দের সঙ্গে বিহারী ছেলে দের খেলা। এখানে উনি কখনো লিখতেন না বাঙালি হিন্দু দের সঙ্গে বিহারী হিন্দু বা হিন্দি ভাষী হিন্দু দের মধ্যে খেলা হচ্ছে।

I really dont care if i am bangali or not first i am muslim. Some times i feel sorry for being bangali. We almost dont have anything to feel proud. ( apart from very tiny individual). Although bangali (nation wise) is the only so called independent nation in south asia

Christian Bengalis or Buddhist Bengalis in any part of the world dont have this problem,they sre proud Bengalis, thats why no country in Europe or USA has any problem also with Bengalis who follow Buddhism or Christianity. Something wrong somewhere. Because the Iranians or the Jordanians who follow Islam have nothing in common with muslims of Bangladesh. Just like we Indian Christians have nothing in common with the Christians of say,Austria or Poland.

ইসলাম আসার পর আরবের হাজার হাজার বছরের সংস্কৃতি পালনের ভেতর ব্যাপক পরিবর্তন এসেছিল, তেমনি পার্সী সভ্যতায়ও একই ভাবে পরিবর্তন এসেছিল সেখানে ইসলাম প্রতিষ্ঠিত হবার পর । ঠিক তেমনিভাবে এই অঞ্চলেও ইসলাম আশার পর মুসলিমদের বাঙালী কালচার পালনেও পরিবর্তন আসে । এভাবেই পুরো বিশ্বে ইসলাম প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছে এরকম প্রতিটি অঞ্চলে মুসলিমদের ভেতর সেই অঞ্চলের সংস্কৃতিক পরিবর্তন এসেছে। অর্থাৎ, ইসলাম এর সাথে সাংঘর্ষিক বিষয় গুলোকে বাদ দিয়ে অবশিষ্ট বিষয় গুলো নিয়ে প্রতিটি অঞ্চলের মুসলিমরা তাদের আঞ্চলিক সংস্কৃতিকে নতুন ভাবে গড়ে তোলে। একটা বিষয় বুঝতে হবে, রাজনৈতিক ব্যক্তিবর্গ ও রাজনৈতিক সিদ্ধান্ত বাদ দিয়ে পুরো বিশ্বে সাধারণ মুসলমানদের ভেতর ইসলামিক মূল্যবোধ প্রথম অগ্রাধিকার পায় এরপর যার যার নৃতাত্ত্বিক জাতীয়তা বা সংস্কৃতিক মূল্যবোধ লালন করে।
এখন আসি বাঙালি জাতীয়তা নিয়ে, ধরুন পৃথিবীতে প্রাণের অস্তিত্ব বলতে যদি শুধু মানুষ ই থাকত তবে সেই ক্ষেত্রে প্রাণী বা মানুষ বলতে একি জিনিস ই বোঝা যেত । কিন্তু তার পর পর যদি আরো বেশ কয়েকটি ভিন্ন ভিন্ন প্রাণের অস্তিত্বের আবির্ভাব ঘটে তখন কি প্রাণী হিসেবে শুধু মানুষকেই বুঝানো হবে ? নিশ্চয়ই না , তখন মানুষ শুধু প্রাণী কুলের একটা অংশ হিসেবেই বিবেচিত হবে । মানুষ কে শুধু মানুষ বলেই ডাকতে হবে । ঠিক সেভাবেই, ইসলাম আশার পূর্বে এই অঞ্চলে বাঙালি বলতে শুধু হিন্দু ধর্মাবলম্বী রাই ছিলেন যার কারণ হিন্দু আর বাঙালি কালচার মাখামাখি করে গড়ে ওঠে । কিন্তু বাঙালির ভেতর ইসলাম প্রতিষ্ঠার পর এখন বাঙালি কালচার কে হিন্দুত্ব সাথে মিশিয়ে চিন্তা করা যাবেনা বরং হাজার বছরের বাঙালি সংস্কৃতি থেকে হিন্দুত্ব বাদ দিয়ে যেটা দাঁড়ায় সেটাই খাটি বাঙালি সংস্কৃতি যা মুসলমান এবং হিন্দু উভয় ধর্মাবলম্বী পালন করতে পারবে । ইসলাম আসার পর এই অঞ্চলের মুসলিমরা হিন্দুত্ব বাদ দিয়েছে বাঙালিত্ব নয়। পার্থক্য করতে গেলে খুব বেশি এতটুকু বলা যেতে পারে 'মুসলিম বাঙালি' আর 'হিন্দু বাঙালি' ।

কিন্তু দেখুন আমরা যারা গ্রামে পড়াশোনা করেছি বিশেষ করে ২০০৫ সালের আগে যারা স্কুল কলেজ শেষ করছি তারা অনেক নৈতিক বিষয় জানি এবং পালন করি। উদাহরণ হিসেবে বলি, ফজরের নামাজ পড়ে পবিত্র কুরআন তেলায়ত শেষ করে নাস্তা তারপর প্রাইভেট পড়ে স্কুল কিংবা কলেজে যেতাম। শিক্ষদের পিতৃতুল্য মনে করতাম। কিন্তু এর পরের জেনারেশন? কিন্ডারগার্ডেন এদের ধর্ম কিংবা নৈতিক শিক্ষা কিছুই দিতে পারেনি। এখন তো শিক্ষা বলে কিছুই নেই শুধুই পাশ।
আগে ছাত্র বললে বাস কিংবা ট্রেনে সব ফ্রী কিন্তু এখন ছাত্র বললে পিটুনি দেয়।
আমার ইংরেজি জ্ঞান সীমিত তাই তিরিশ পেরিয়ে ইংরেজি ভাষা দক্ষতার জন্য (IELTS) এর জন্য বছর খানেক পড়াশোনা করি। সেখানে যারা শেখান তারা কতটুকু বাংগালী পোশক কিংবা সংস্কৃতি লালন করেন তা হয়তো সেখানে না গেলে জানতাম না।
আমাদের সবচেয়ে বড় সমস্যা পরের কালচারা ধার করতে আমরা পছন্দ করি। হায়রে বাঙালি?

*'Hindu Rashtra statute draft'* - A group of 30 Hindu seers and experts prepared the first draft of the constitution for the proposed ‘Hindu Rashtra.’ Haridwar Dharam Sansad seer Anand Swaroop released a preamble for the constitution, which states that minorities, specifically Muslims and Christians, will be barred from voting.
A 32-page draft will be presented during the Prayagraj Dharam Sansad, which is to be held in March 2023 in Sangam city. The first draft outlines the major changes in the field of education defense, law and order, a system of voting, and the rights of the head of state.
Another notable aspect of the draft is that it aims to shift the national capital from New Delhi to Varanasi, and also proposes the establishment of a Parliament of religions in Uttar Pradesh’s Kashi.
According to the proposed constitution, the current parliament will be replaced by a 543-member Dharam Sansad. Gurukuls will replace the education system, and all old laws will also be scrapped. Everything will be conducted on the basis of the Varna system.
Apart from the aforementioned features, military training would be compulsory for each and every citizen. Agriculture would be completely exempted from taxes. It is to be noted that during the Prayaraj Dharam Sansad in February 2022, a resolution was passed to make India “A Hindu Nation.”
The cover of the draft depicts the map of the proposed “Akhand Bharat” which aims to merge countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet Autonomous Region, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar that have separated from India.
Swami Anand Swaroop said, “There will be an executive system wherein Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains will all get the right to exercise their franchise. People of every caste will have the facility and security to live in the nation.”
The seer further said that Muslims and Christians will have the right to do business and are welcome to stay in the country, however, they will not have the right to vote.
The drafting committee comprises Swami Anand Swaroop, the president of the Shankaracharya Parishad. Apart from Anand Swaroop, Astrologist Kameshwar Upadhyay, Supreme Court senior advocate BN Reddy, defense expert Anand Vardhan, Sanatan Dharma scholar Chandramani Mishra and Dr. Vidya Sagar are part of the group.

Ahmed Sofa's 'Bengal Musolmaner Mon' pretty concisely draws the long reared pathways of this east Bengal Muslim's psychology; the way it was influenced and shaped from the medieval age to the 90's and I could see some facets or interpretations which were drawn here in this video which have quite a bit of similitude akin to Sofa's essay.

I remotely don't have your intellectual caliber but I have thought about this for years. I remember the unspoken words during varsity days that in order to prove myself as a "oshamprodayik muslim" i was supposed to attend puja mondops around university halls and were supposed to attend "mongol shovajatra". I grew up in village in the first decade of my life. i can't remember any "mongol shovajatra" as some precondition to celebrate boishakh. but within 1 decade it became "hajar bochorer bangali oitijjho". even the boishakhi mela became secondary ingredient of boishakh. if it were named "anondo shovajatra" instead of "mongol" ; it could be a celebration for all. no it had to be "mongol" shovajatra which is directly contradicting to the first and foremost condition of Islam. And cultural elites will demand Muslims to compromise their base of the faith to achieve "purity" as Bangali. the dilemma and frustration an average bangali muslim has to go through -even a hindu person with sympathy would feel some pity for bangali muslims if they could realize

Here's a hypothesis: a person has successfully embraced their own moral code only when he can comfortably be somewhere with a conflicting moral code. For example, if the Hindu person happily attends his friend's eid celebration invitation (without eating meat there) or a muslim attends the 'mongol' shovajatra with his hindu friend, because deep down both of them know that supporting the other person or enjoying the moment will not damage their conviction in their own moral codes, without thinking that their moral code is superior than the others. (Of course people have their own personal choices and should not be judged based on what they decide to do or not do as long as it doesn’t harm others.)
But here's this thing, mongol Shovajatra was actually started by Muslims, based on the Bengali New Year celebration which was also found by Muslim ruler, Akbar! Which technically means you're following your own culture and religion while you're taking Hindus in your religous festivals yet you're not participating in their religous rituals at all

1. I will be true to myself what I want to be. I won't let the surrounding and people defy me.
2. I will be humble and flexible. But I will also be intolerant towards anything that conflicts with my moral code.

*'Hindu Rashtra statute draft'* - A group of 30 Hindu seers and experts prepared the first draft of the constitution for the proposed ‘Hindu Rashtra.’ Haridwar Dharam Sansad seer Anand Swaroop released a preamble for the constitution, which states that minorities, specifically Muslims and Christians, will be barred from voting.
A 32-page draft will be presented during the Prayagraj Dharam Sansad, which is to be held in March 2023 in Sangam city. The first draft outlines the major changes in the field of education defense, law and order, a system of voting, and the rights of the head of state.
Another notable aspect of the draft is that it aims to shift the national capital from New Delhi to Varanasi, and also proposes the establishment of a Parliament of religions in Uttar Pradesh’s Kashi.
According to the proposed constitution, the current parliament will be replaced by a 543-member Dharam Sansad. Gurukuls will replace the education system, and all old laws will also be scrapped. Everything will be conducted on the basis of the Varna system.
Apart from the aforementioned features, military training would be compulsory for each and every citizen. Agriculture would be completely exempted from taxes. It is to be noted that during the Prayaraj Dharam Sansad in February 2022, a resolution was passed to make India “A Hindu Nation.”
The cover of the draft depicts the map of the proposed “Akhand Bharat” which aims to merge countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet Autonomous Region, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar that have separated from India.
Swami Anand Swaroop said, “There will be an executive system wherein Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains will all get the right to exercise their franchise. People of every caste will have the facility and security to live in the nation.”
The seer further said that Muslims and Christians will have the right to do business and are welcome to stay in the country, however, they will not have the right to vote.
The drafting committee comprises Swami Anand Swaroop, the president of the Shankaracharya Parishad. Apart from Anand Swaroop, Astrologist Kameshwar Upadhyay, Supreme Court senior advocate BN Reddy, defense expert Anand Vardhan, Sanatan Dharma scholar Chandramani Mishra and Dr. Vidya Sagar are part of the group.

The well thought out questions you have raised and the antagonistic traits you have brought out between Muslims and other religions are eye opening. I wonder if it really matters who follows what religion, or any correlation between Muslims and Bengalis? Don't you agree that discrimination is an old primitive approach to exploitation use by wealthy people? I think many nations have integrated the culture, the moral code of different nations, just like the concept of an electric car is inherited from a gasoline car. There's nothing wrong with that, it's how we maintain and improve our version of culture that matters.
I believe that cultures are interconnected with the political system, ideology, morality, education, law and order and political economy. These are the factors that are deeply in trouble in Bangladesh. Hence, when these factors become even more negative, Bengali may one day disappear. Thank you, looking forward to your next video.
