I remember everyone dancing like this. It was the style so no one thought anything of it. Funny that looking back to other eras than the current, styles of dance, hairdos, clothes etc. look like the olden days. I love all the differences but boy times just moves on and reality always changes!
Strong beat of mid 60's Motown music- would take you over. Well done in this clip. Even with no back story, the record replays because there was no stack of 45's - so play the best record you have. It was real and immediate.
Shame that we hardly see men dance anymore. Not surprised really with all the negative comments from women making fun about they way men dance. Just let people be and enjoy themselves.
Edie never had anyone with a clear enough head around her to save her. Then again addiction is so difficult to crawl out of I don't know if she had the strength to save herself.
Edie is the one to watch here! Gerard’s dancing is unintentionally hilarious, but I give him credit for the effort & not being afraid of looking girly.
I love this song but the 1971 Stanley Kubrick version is a whole lot better. Greatest film by the greatest director. The greatest film of all time no doubt.
The people living off Warhol's fame are trying to convince us that Warhol's awful and unwatchable films are wonderful, and that we don't understand what Warhol was trying to do. Keep trying.
@@Marcel_Audubon To this day, as a 77 year old man - he's still the most handsome guy in the room. We're friends with Gerard and see him a few times a year. My wife has a crush on him (ha!).
I've always thought that Warhol exposed how shallow and transactional American Culture is by producing cheap shallow images. But I just inherited a 'Blue Marilyn' print so I guess I'll have to refine my point of view.
His energy is amazing and she is so beautiful …
Gerards dancing totally personifies the 60s! 👍👍👍👍

That’s right baby boy, dance and mean it. He’s the bomb dancer! Loving EDIE ALWAYS AND FOREVER. 👯♂️👯♂️💃🏽💃🏽🕺🏽💃🏽🕺🏽💃🏽🕺🏽💃🏽🕺🏽💃🏽
they were they same age ... now he's 74 and she's forever 28
Marcel Audubon did you see Stanley Kubrick’s 1971 version of what this film is based on?
The One Man Army what is it called?
Warhol died in 1987.
eugene brodeur The "he" in question wasn't Warhol, it was referring to Edie's dancing partner -- co-star here, Gerard Malanga.
Gerard and Edie - true classics
Edie was a bit restrained
Gerard and Edie got moves.. Remarkable!

Gerard X Edie 😍😍
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm dancing like Gerard Malanga in front of my boss after I say I quit my job
Gerard is getting down lol 🕺🏻
😂😂😂😂
It’s like watching wind up dolls coming to life.

I love you!
It’s not just women lol. Men like to make fun of each other a lot and call each other feminine and gay just for expressing themselves.
Hi Numbers
Que lindo bailaba Malanga!
His name was *Gerard,* not Gerald. 😟
Go Girl!!!
get with the program
Nobody ever talks about how outrageously attractive he was. A list actor looks
He was gorgeous!🥰
Watching Factory Girl right now, Thought I'd come here to check out the real footage.
yeaaaaaa
As well as providing Jimbo with his best known look , he was the inspiration for Bez and the guy in Madness !
Edie never had anyone with a clear enough head around her to save her. Then again addiction is so difficult to crawl out of I don't know if she had the strength to save herself.

nothing unintentional here
😍😀
Gerard x

In the film "The Warriors" (Walter Hill, 1979), "Nowhere to Run" has a new version, performed by Arnold McCuller
King Amoeboid hahaha, nobody here seems to know the Anthony B. novel from which "Vinyl" was [incredibly, insanely loosely] adapted.
His name is Gerard, not Gerald ffs.
It's like watching a squirrel having a seizure. At least Edie is there to rest my eyes upon with her grace and beauty.
I thought you meant Edie
This is pre-MTV?
Uhh. Yea way Pre. There was no MTV on the 60s or 70s. MTV didn't exist until 1981
This would be unwatchable without Edie to gaze upon!
Dianthe Harris Skurko have you seen other versions of A Clockwork Orange which Vinyl is based on.
Indeed I have.
Edie is lovely but personally, Gerard is the one I like to gaze upon--wild, golden-haired sexy beast!
@@meganhussey972
He definitely had some thrust in him. Did he have any children? Is he gay?
@@blackmore4 I googled him I think he has a cat Sam XD
Edie still steals the show and she doesn’t even have to get up. 😂
Gerard’s trying too hard. He lacks rhythm.
All of Warhol's films suck.

@Thom67 What a moronic comment. Not much going on between your ears, is there.
Factory Girl portrayed him as a very handsome man, in actual fact he was quite the opposite.
razorblade smile11 Strongly disagree.
google his pictures - he looked like a movie star himself and much better looking than the guy who played him in the movie

He was handsome
That's your opinion. I thought he was 🔥
