- hi friends,
it's been a lil while since my last vid. i took a decent break since the terrifying events of mid-march in relation to anti-asian hate crimes & violence (note: not an isolated event, similar incidents have been happening every day for months and months now). honestly, it was pretty dark in my mind for awhile there- a fairly adequate reflection of this past year in general. while i'll never really be fully okay, thank you for being patient with me nonetheless :)
this is a vlog from the beginning of march. i actually wasn't sure if i was going to post it at first, but it brought me such happiness that i decided to do so for myself. i like these memories. i want to look back on them and remember the warmth in them.

it's completely understandable to refrain from making your own educational video about the recent rise in hate. many times minorities feel the need to address the issue to not get backlash when many of us are tired from the constant barrage in news and don't feel the need to put our own input on it. we all wish you the best, christine :) take care of yourself

I live in Portugal a fairly safe country where it is common to welcome all cultures, all races all genders. However, we have also seen some tragic and repulsive behavior in the past year. It hurts to see so many people living in fear. I am deeply sorry for the trauma that you are experiencing and I hope things get better. We must all do better. It's absolutely not your job to educate. It's so unreasonable for people to expect you to go through all of that fear and trauma and then also educate others. Everyone who feels like they have the mental space to do so absolutely should, but the expectation is unreasonable. I'm glad you took the time off and you're keeping yourself safe and healthy. I hope you are okay, even with all of this going on. Take care of yourself and take whatever time you need to process

While I understand the need to raise awareness for the situation I don't think anybody should be pressured to say or make a video of the issue If they don't feel like doing it. 🧡💛🧡 Also having everyone saying the same thing can become overwhelming.
