That has to be one of the most relaxing tutorials ever. With the music and song birds in the background it was intoxicating. Jelena, it shows your great skill to the masses so beautifully.
I just looked at the pic of the final results from the link provided in the info for this video, and the look of it being three different colored ribbons braided together is GORGEOUS! I love it. Well done, thank you for sharing the video of how it is done, and the link to the pic of the results of this video.
@@helencoote2827 Thank you soo much!! And sorry about that, I really should realize about the drop-down button, most of the time it totally out of my peripheral vision 😋
This looks like a homemade kumihimo "table", exactly what I envisioned I would like, as holding the discs would be hard on my arthritis! If you purchased it, I would love to know where!I am new to this art form and have so enjoyed the fact of so many videos on youtube, to help learn.......thanks for being so generous in taking the time to video and post!
This is so beautiful! Do you have a video or instructions on how to make the braid on the right? I have been trying to this out for quite a while and am not advanced enough to figure it out by myself. Again, just beautiful. I will try this! Thank You!
i wonder if using wooden bobbins or finding a way to add weight to the plastic ones would change the tension enough so you wouldn't have to snug up the weave after every repeat :/. other than that this is the loveliest and easiest to follow kumihimo video i've seen so far.
The braid on tre right is a Kara-kumi one... You can find instructions in Makiko Tada's book "Comprehensive treatise of braids I -- Marudai braids" Or at groups.yahoo.com/group/kumi2/ in "Files" section (SasanamiDiagram16bobbin...pdf) You will need to join the group for accessing the file.

It would be nice if the original set up was shown and then what the braid actually looked like.

There I was watching, fascinated...waiting for the final result.....!

Yes, if you buy a professionally made marudai. But, a homemade one like this can be made quite inexpensively.
You could get a stool and drill a hole
