New bands, more modern music, etc. Either way, there was a ton of garbage pre-2010s too, and there's plenty of great anime that don't necessarily follow whatever it is you consider 'mainstream favorite.' You just need to be watching them instead of whatever it is that's the most popular and talked about.

This is my favorite song by Sunset Swish. The lead singer has a very beautiful voice, but I believe they stopped making music 5 years ago.
