The RJM is based on the original Naill chanter Roddy played since the 1980's. Naill's standard design is the result of the company's evolution incorporating influences from Jimmy Macintosh MBE, Murray Henderson, and the Lee brothers (Jack and Terry) to bring the chanter in-line with today's trends (pitch, ergonomics, etc.). I believe there are a few minor differences between the RJM chanter and the original with the obvious being the exterior design. I understand the differences between the standard and RJM are significant on a specification level. Both are fantastic, though.
