    This is another homemade digital clock. I designed it with Fusion 360 and printed it on my 3D printer. It took many hours of printing. I've also created a new Android App that you can use to control it (more info on GitHub). I've used the same controller board that I've made for my other digital clock. At daylight it's not very bright, results are best at evening.
    Arduino (Nano)
    Bluetooth module: HC-05
    Real time clock: DS3231
    LED strip: WS2812B 1 meter 30 RGB LED's
    Temperature and Humidity Sensor: DHT11

    This is one of the best clock I have ever seen. Earlier was also from the same author but this is truly amazing.

    Simply amazing! I am fairly new to the Arduino, and still learning the basics.This was a very inspiring example of what can be done with the Arduino, a 3D printer , and an App.

    Thank you. You really perked my interest in this. Not only the electronics side but the 3D side. I am looking into the anet a8 as that seems to be the most fun to build and modify for some fun. I love the stuff you do, thank you very much. I wont be able to do so till maybe around xmas.
    Thanks again. Love that cnc machine and the 14 segment display. try the 16 segment and lets make a digital clock out of that.

    Can't help but watch this video, so smart using autdesk fusion 360 like a pro. I can't wait to print this to see how big it really is.
    Still looks awesome. Thank you.
    So did you upgrade your power supply and added the fused outlet/switch combo?
    Did you add the external MOSFETs? I might just for safety. Looks like I am going to print a ton of stuff :)
    I'm excited.....

    What would be cool is to add some coding so that you can set night hours for the clock so when it’s like 8 pm till 6 am (or what ever you set, it only lights up soft colors or dim colors or if possible dulls the leds

    If you download the app, are you able to change the color of the "scoreboard" sides? Like to differentiate the teams?

    Aren't the dots in the middle supposed to blink in synchronization with the seconds on clock mode?

  • @grumich4084
    @grumich4084 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Oh, that's good. That's REALLY good! About the only thing I'd add is to make the 7-segment's, uh, "segments" stand out better; there's a sort of "light bleed" between them and parts of the background. But outside of that, it's quite impressive, including the different displays (time, temp, etc.). "Ya done GOOD!"
    (And wouldn't ya know it? I left my 3-D printer in my other pants! But once I get it out I'll get RIGHT on it!) :)

    • @grumich4084
      @grumich4084 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I like it "except" for that light-bleeding. And I've seen other ones that too could use a bit of work to make or minimize that object's "bleeding," in both light and dark. And as I recall it's more evident in lighted rooms; my GUESS is that's because of the ambient light which makes the room brighter so the LEDs get dimmer in comparison. But that's really just a guess (although it happens to US ALL the time; The words ""snow blind" are there for a reason, after all.) It "seems" possible to remove some it, but it might not be a "trivial" fix.
      At one time I thought about building a clock just like that -- it seemed rather "simple." Yeah, right. Just LOOKING at the work Leon did and it's clear this ain't "simple" at all. (Hmmm, maybe THAT'S why I ask "Alexa" to find the time for me now.) ;)

    Hi Leon. Awesome work!
    Can you please advise what filament you used for the white diffusers? Is that PETG (for transparency), or just thin layer of white PLA, or ABS? I thought maybe natural, but your GitHub mentions "white".
    I suspect low brightness is due to such large and bevelled segments. Perhaps needs 2x Neo’s per segment to drive these 3 dimensional diffusers, or just go for traditional flat-faced (non-bevelled) side-enclosed segment diffusers. But then that would mean it’s no longer “3D” :-)

    • @LeonvandenBeukel
      @LeonvandenBeukel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1
