Normally I'd go on about how Childe tried to kill all of Liyue, but then I remembered what Aether is doing right now and that the twins moral compass might not be as good as we think we know.
Considering we are one of the twins that kind of depends on us...with my moral compas Childe is just a bit of a jerk so yeah.

understandable but hear me out, all the characters we are meeting along the way we are developing a bond with them, imagine one day the archons decide to take their livelyhoods and their world away from them and curse them into monsters we see now, and all you could do is helplessly watch as ur powerless to save them, you would also want revenge against the archons as well. aether built tht same bond with the people of khanria and witnessed the archons take away their homes and force them to suffer.
@@mishtrong killing the futui soldiers is very similar to soldiers killing soldiers, it's only bad from one side. Plus they will actively attack you even if you're just walking by so technically you can just not back down if they engage you or if your mission specifically says different. As for the abyss they are now monsters whom would attack innocents so I don't have sympathy regardless of what they were before

Just because he's supposed to be the " bad guy " doesn't mean he's a bad person. Just saying. I mean people who really want to watch the whole world burn wouldn't be sending letters to their family saying that they want to quit their job to accompany someone on they're journey but they can't cause they're job would literally kill them if they tried to quit. I personally think that Childe might as well be mihoyo's best character. I mean he has everything: a sad backstory, a goal which might get him killed but he's still fighting for it, he's misunderstood because of what he does for a living given to which he wasn't even the one who "applied" for the job in the first place, he's a big brother, a son, a comrade, a fighter, a warrior... His family is everything to him and he only wants to protect them while he's bonding with the traveler. I'm sorry but i refuse to believe anything else
With that boy's past, I'm surprised he still love his parents after they kicked him out not a while after he came back from a traumatic experience (The abyss).
i think he ran away from home lol. after that he fell into the abyss met his master trained for "three months" came back and realized it had only been three days and boom
Didn't they just send him off to army. They still love him. They just thought it would be best for him.
I love how Lumine was honest with Childe. I think that shows how deep their relationship is, considering how they are willing to express all of their feelings to each other.
This was a really deep comic, love how it's about Lumine wanting to trust Childe when talks about his home. And than comes the moment of truth for both of them.

That looks like one hell of an unhealthy relationship to me.
This whole glorification of bad guy - good girl relationships everywhere makes me puke. Not if it really was like in these comics (since it isnt good girl - bad guy couple dynamic anymore), but because it is often not like that at all in reality.
I'm intrigued as to why you think this way. Explain it a bit more 👀 also explain why is it so toxic/unhealthy to you,,

1.He is fatui agent, nothing bad, he is only on one organisation with political power, its okay they are respected in other nations.
2.Revived evil god that could kill everyone in liyue, its only for the job? Maybe. But maybe he is changed man later! Its only in the past! Heh. That's something we can easily detach ourselves and easily forgive him because of Teucer(more on that later).
3.Really threatened lumine personally fighting with foul legacy transformation. He became crazy at the moment of using both vision delusion and transformation, they literally fought to the death, not something you can erase with romantic partner.
Being crazy and all can be a way to prevent delusion from backfiring, there is theory that only when your heart is full of hatred using delusion wont just straight up kill you.
The most important thing why people like childe - he is a caring brother, but. Being "all for the family" caring brother etc isnt exactly a redeeming quality. It's something that should be taken for granted that the people we hate and want killed(characters or irl) have people they care about(but isnt the case for most people, and only showing someones good sides can humanize them which is something that is done to childe by revealing he has a little brother). I stand that being a good brother doesnt erase all evil doing, somehow it worked out for the rest of the fandom.
Second looking at them in the comic. Its now a common trope in fanmade comics to have them fight frequently, since it kinda suits childe character to ask for a combat challenge Its something used for laughs, less commonly to foreshadow what fandom think of their future ingame more dark.
Back to comic itself. Lumine said 2 important things at start of comic.
1. "Yield" - there is a possibility, though small for childe to want to continue fighting, making a choice that would backfire and end him. I cant see childe wanting to challenge someone with only wooden sticks, so he always uses lethal weapons.
2. "Thought id have to kill you" - asking for childe to yield, she has that face where she really things this, and childe does too. That they can end it right here and now. both are relieved since in comic they have this special bond, but still. Its kinda intense moment.
I dont know if its common sense or just my opinion but i think violence in romantic relationships are never good. Its okaying with slap on the back, aggressive tickling(even though its a nightmare) but fighting, or lets say workout where both end up bruised so much they need that much bandages. I dont know.
If i had to put it simply, i dont like his character at all, i have natural distaste for playboy characters, he seems like one and thats also one of ways fanmade comics potray him, and they way they do it of course, focusing only on protagonist-chan, which is the case only in fangirl fantasies. But dont get me wrong, he is a well written character with shades of grey, and i really belive. It is his destiny to say: Maybe i dont want to be a bad guy anymore, then heroic death, move on. That also isnt just an assumption, one of his nicknames is Ajax. Just look up greek myth about Ajax the great, he also have brother called teucer. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
Overall there is a bright future for him ingame, but not so much as romantic partner for Lumine, or most girls, not only he would like girl who could kick his ass, he wont hold back and hurt you too.
I probably wont touch on effects that common trope, and potrayal of bad guy - good girl relationships have on minds of girls around the world. Its good when it stays a fantasy, we all have those, but with this one id be careful. Very careful.
