I am originally from Gillam and I remember taking the train to Swan River before Via/CN changed the route in the early 80's. This brings back lots of memories. The train from Thompson driving of supplies to communities like Thicket Portage and Ilford.
Very great video! I see my friends in this video. I remember I took a train from Thompson to Wabowden when I was 8, bring the school trip. Trains are my lifelong transportation, took lots of trips to Ilford many times.

Various animals tried to swim to the bottom of the ocean to bring back dirt to create land. Muskrat succeeded in gathering dirt, which was placed on the back of a turtle, which grew into the land known today as North America".

Your right it is a very beautiful place with incredible people. I have been all over the world and I consider my visit to Thicket Portage one of my most memorable trips.
My first ever train trip was to Thicket Portage from Thompson in third grade. So cool to see it again!!

Cool, ya its a different life up north and I will never forget these communities. I got to visit Gillam for a few days, wish it was longer.
My grandfather worked at CN Rail before the Hudson Bay Railway, he was a conductor for 30 plus years, he retired some 25 years ago

the train stops once on Monday nourthbound, twice a day, Wednesday, Friday these trains go north and south and once on Sunday going south
