So for the basher which is 25% listed, the actual chance for the first hit being a bash is actually ~8.5%, 2nd hit being ~17%, 3rd hit ~25.5% and so forth with each hit that does not bash. The chance resets back to the 8.5% upon getting a bash. PA's ability is also PRNG, and as such, you can "prime" a critical hit on your next attack. The longer it goes that you don't have a crit, the higher chance the next hit will cause a crit.
That's terrible. So the game is literally lying to the player about how items and abilities work........ and you have to go to third party wikis to find out how it actually works. What an absolute joke.
@@MrXaoras Converging probability is still a different mechanic with implication on gameplay. You can "stack" crit chance on creeps before blinking on enemy hero. You would never know to do this just from info given in the game. You literally have to go to third party site to find out.

PRNG is a healthier form of rng implementation as you are less likely to go for long periods without a crit. Old players knew about it before wikis too, so its not like you wouldn't notice from simply playing the game. The chance AVERAGES out to what they listed, so they aren't lying.
I think the big thing here is the fact that basically no one on your team tried to kill Medusa so Medusa just farmed freely for like, 30 minutes. Meanwhile everywhere you went there was a team waiting for you. Also you did try to chase down enemies a bit too much here. Both Windrunner and Hoodwink has great escape options, and without some kind of CC you couldn't catch them, as they could CC you and keep on running.
he has good mechanics but really bad game sense, naturally, since he was new. this kind of thing takes hundreds if not thousands of matches to really get down.
E is also good when someone chasing you since you can disjoint them and all target/vector spell will cancle so the caster has to find your hero icon and try to target you again. E can detect enemy invis or smoke nearby anytime there're and enemy nearby you 3rd will be cancled. E allows you to go jungle and farm without detect from creeps.
I keep seeing grubby blinking on his allies to get to an enemy, even though grubby is close enough to blink to his enemy. Doesn't get thr bonus at speed or lifestyle if he does that.
Grubby reminded me other music packs exist in dota. I've been using dire shred pack for years. Earlier this week I started just putting all my music packs (minus some bad ones) on shuffle. Much more enjoyable. Nemestice music pack and this years TI music pack are phenomenal.
Fun fact, her skills used to be very basic warcraft 3 abilities, so it was pretty cut and paste. Q was simply shadow strike. E was simply evasion. R arguably still is a simple crit, but it used to have the exact values of blade master's crit.

I think that Medusa was a returning player. If you come back from long ago all your heroes are level 1, that system didn't exist when I played. Storm spirit was my best hero, 200+ games 68% winrate, and the hero is level 1 like I've never played him.
You should switch PT to int before casting skills (you already know it). It helps to save a lot of mana. Esp when you're farming jungle and hve almost nothing to do but increase your efficiency

You should try to play like this dusa a couple of times, and see if this carry style fits you. PA is also a very farming heavy hero, but if you like to brawl more you should try bristle back, chaos knight, razor or slark as your go to carries after A to Z
When you were reviewing this character in demo mode, it reminded me more of Zeratul in HotS than Maiev or Illidan. But she combines traits from all of them.
The thing is phantom assasin is dependant of items so you should farm in early help if needed badly but always farm first. When you have your items ready with bkb then go clashing. Support enemy heroes are squishy so you can get deso early and phase boots. You dont need threads you have second skill that gives you attckspd. Phase boots, deso bkb. And your choice just add damage damage damage you can 1 shot team with stiffling dagger
Boots depend on your build, not because you have w. If you rushing deso and try to have early chase and kill type, deso+phase boots = chase , more dmg in early fights. Treads+bf for farming those extra atk spd is very useful for farming ancients, and tread switch early before you get bf is useful, since you have bf you more likely to farm more and have more items, so your playstyle wont be chase and kill, it would be more like burst with dmg and atk speed and get out
If you start losing lane as a core u better change item queue to cheaper item like wraith band for 1 or 2 to be durable in lane pahse and ask support to stack cuz you have to farm up or join other lane fight to get more gold and exp after tp to other lane you can clear the jungle while take your own way back to lane or even ganking other lane again. That medusa really know how strong he is when the time comes and items that required in team fight unless you dont need to pop up in team fight. It's really good thing to know when is your timing, when will your character will be strong especially with combination of items + teammates +enemy level + enemy items. Sometimes you dont have to finish the item like orb of corrosion its 800 gold you can get only 300 for-3 armor and get wraith band instead or even saving 875gold in early game just to get ring of health to get perma regen on your hero which lower the cost of cunsumption items.
basically in such matchups you need to know exactly when to stop farming, for pa its usually deso bkb 25 minutes then go win the game but learnin gthese power spikes takes alot of experience
This game shows how big a difference good farming practice on a carry is. No matter how many kills you got as PA, it was not worth it, you could have went top and farmed as much as Dusa had and forced their enemy to rotate to deny you. Top lane was free for 30 minutes was very painful to watch, because those creeps dying without allied heroes around set your team back further than many deaths. In higher tiers of ranked you will see that it only matters more, If you win fights without taking objectives or creating space for your carry, you will ONLY lose matches.
The 3rd skill of P.A (Blur) when active makes she impossible to see even to Wards, and it keeps her invisible also when u are attacking non heroes units. When You have Aghanins, u can Spam ur E and keep invisible, making her almost impossible to Gank. She is my 2nd favorite hero (my 1st favorite hero is Sniper :) - My nickname in dota is Xerife Patinho, i'm Divine 5 playing almost only with sniper)
u killed their courier and still stand in their jungle... lucky u didn't get punished. joined fights that you shouldn't have joined and didn't get punished... u positioned yourself badly so many times and got punished very few times, and u were screaming team... u should acknowledge when bad positioning is your fault and no expect any help.
Stifling dagger is great for enemy range heroes so you can farm safely max stifling first then just farm battle fury early jungle mode or the build phase boots deso paper heroes
You played with the mindset of a pos 3 or 4, you were looking to fight and make plays. When you play 1 prioritize your farm. Only fight if its a really good fight where you can get kills, and its close to you or a tower you can TP.
This might be ur comfortable farming and suitable hero for you tbh grubby, if you play safelane and im pos 5 or 4 i would try to make space for you to farm Hope we could play together in some pubs 😊

Nope, for 2 reasons: 1st reason is money - PA needs deso to fight and/or battlerfury to farm. Some builds skip Bf to go straight deso and fight, or if you a maniac like Zai(think him or Crit) that when play pos 1 PA go straight Madness like a psycho. (he did that one game on stream by snowballing early fights, idk,, not good sample size). 2nd reason is diffu is just not a good counter vs dusa, she has too much mana and she gets mana very easily with snake to the point that diffu just doesn't do much against her at all. Use windranger ult with Diffu, one of the fastest att speed in game and she still barely does anything due to Dusa's huge mana pool and items powerspike wise. I debated my friend about this and we tested different stages of powerspikes and at diffu just doesn't feel worth it on its own and feels even worse when compared to a maelstrom or another better item that you could get since it is so expensive.
Problem with diffu is price and that it is reliant on attack speed. Magina works against her cause he is % based mana break rather than a fixed amount.
Medusa is a smurf, Since grubby perform better than guardian on many heroes specially Nagasiren, he will be matched with similar skilled enemy carries, Unfortunately people with that micro skills are usually Smurfs!
This games proves, that Dota 2 is a resources games. Imagine you all fighting but never get ahead in gold and xp. While medusa just farm lane creeps and jungle. If you just farm early grubby you have many items like him and this game should be even. Remember what Ceb told you, farm just farm until you hit your timing
Medusa plays how carry is meant to be played. Dodge fights, leave Lane early when Sup is griefing you with EP, know hero and power spikes. You'll get that down too, and then you are easily out of the bracket in the future.
that's 100% a smurf, with this farm pattern, while hitting all the right timings for stacks without losing 1 respawn, using manta, one time in ancients he was farming and he saw heroes on the map and stopped mid ancients to start pushing top, 5k at least player
This game was winnable, only if this was like your 20th PA game and understand how to farm with her, what items to rush, where to be at certain parts of the game. But that dusa was likely a smurf or sniper trying to counter you. Team was decent, you had a pretty good impact, dusa just ruined the game.
every medusa is going to look like a smurf under these conditions if nobody cares to ward her jungle or gank her, the spirit breaker never even bothered contesting her splitpushes for example
That statement at the very last seconds of the video that you needed to "avoid all fights" is not true. Dusa didnt avoided fighting, she was trying to get kills whenever possible in early game. The difference is that because you are playing those heroes 1st time you dont know what are the limits and you overextend a lot on every single hero you play and that result in your deaths. Dusa didnt died single time in this game, you had 3 deaths by minute 10. Thats at least 2 deaths too much at that point for pos 1 and thats not becase you fight too much but because you dont know limits of your hero.
Well you are looking it wrongly. Phase gives you sticking potential to attack to not body block for hits higher dmg on dagger as well as better burst on blinking when you already have attack speed.
She has low base attack damage, a huge attack speed steroid (more than a moonshard), a pseudo attack speed increase through stifling dagger, a multiplier to all physical damage dealt (coup de grace) and is all about bursting heroes. The diminishing returns are huge when you already have ~200+ attack speed through abilities. There's a good reason why the item build on PA is all about stacking as much attack damage as possible (and trying to not get kited). I could give a much more detailed answer if you want but that's the short version anyhow.
No offense to grubby but pa is the perfect hero for the extreme tunnel vision he has. Whole team fighting? Grubby is creeping. Barracks dying? Grubby stealing their ancient camp. The lack of awareness and positioning usually triggers me but on pa that doesnt apply lol
I agree, the ability to one-shot enemy support is just so bad if PA can kill supports just by staring at them that would be a little bit better, might considering playing her
PA Q does a small amount of damage to enemies, W increases your damage slightly, E does nothing, and R does a moderate amount of damage to enemies some of the time. There aren't heroes in the game that rely more on items than pa in order to have an impact in the game. if you gave every hero in the game 1000g and level 6 they would all be stronger than level 12 pa with 4000g.

This is bad advice. The BKB isn’t the problem, the problem is missing the power spike, and most of that comes from playing the hero at the wrong pace. PA with deso/Bkb at 25 minutes is scary af. PA with deso/Bkb at 35 minutes is just sad.
Grubby, you spent 15 minutes without going to the free farm top lane after t1 got destroyed. It is not optimum to do that. You should always look for safe places to farm before bf, deso and bkb.
your team composition was really bad for mid game team fighting as much as you guys did, not good magic damage burst, kinda of a greedy comp. their draft was much more cohesive. also, take a look how much sense medusa's farming pattern makes. shove waves, clear neutrals, shove wave, clear neutral. Pos1 players do best not playing the reaction game and more the "item timing" game

That’s so important for PA. Tread switching is the difference between barely sustainable and constantly buying regen or going base.

Battlefury desolator abyssal bkb thats it. those 4 are core items for PA
OMG playing PA and this is the most team fighting I've seen grubby doing, more even then on pango and going for a Medusa he can't kill

MOM is risky on her, it has always been like that since dota 1.
Dota plus suggesting basher instead of bkb against that line up is one of the many reason i dont trust it.

This game was winnable, only if this was like your 20th PA game and understand how to farm with her, what items to rush, where to be at certain parts of the game.
But that dusa was likely a smurf or sniper trying to counter you. Team was decent, you had a pretty good impact, dusa just ruined the game.
every medusa is going to look like a smurf under these conditions if nobody cares to ward her jungle or gank her, the spirit breaker never even bothered contesting her splitpushes for example
That statement at the very last seconds of the video that you needed to "avoid all fights" is not true. Dusa didnt avoided fighting, she was trying to get kills whenever possible in early game. The difference is that because you are playing those heroes 1st time you dont know what are the limits and you overextend a lot on every single hero you play and that result in your deaths. Dusa didnt died single time in this game, you had 3 deaths by minute 10. Thats at least 2 deaths too much at that point for pos 1 and thats not becase you fight too much but because you dont know limits of your hero.

I never understood the phase boots on PA and some other carries that depend heavily on attack speed. If someone can clarify I would be grateful.

Well you are looking it wrongly. Phase gives you sticking potential to attack to not body block for hits higher dmg on dagger as well as better burst on blinking when you already have attack speed.
She has low base attack damage, a huge attack speed steroid (more than a moonshard), a pseudo attack speed increase through stifling dagger, a multiplier to all physical damage dealt (coup de grace) and is all about bursting heroes. The diminishing returns are huge when you already have ~200+ attack speed through abilities. There's a good reason why the item build on PA is all about stacking as much attack damage as possible (and trying to not get kited).
I could give a much more detailed answer if you want but that's the short version anyhow.
No offense to grubby but pa is the perfect hero for the extreme tunnel vision he has. Whole team fighting? Grubby is creeping. Barracks dying? Grubby stealing their ancient camp. The lack of awareness and positioning usually triggers me but on pa that doesnt apply lol

PA Q does a small amount of damage to enemies, W increases your damage slightly, E does nothing, and R does a moderate amount of damage to enemies some of the time. There aren't heroes in the game that rely more on items than pa in order to have an impact in the game. if you gave every hero in the game 1000g and level 6 they would all be stronger than level 12 pa with 4000g.

This is bad advice. The BKB isn’t the problem, the problem is missing the power spike, and most of that comes from playing the hero at the wrong pace. PA with deso/Bkb at 25 minutes is scary af. PA with deso/Bkb at 35 minutes is just sad.
Grubby, you spent 15 minutes without going to the free farm top lane after t1 got destroyed. It is not optimum to do that. You should always look for safe places to farm before bf, deso and bkb.

your team composition was really bad for mid game team fighting as much as you guys did, not good magic damage burst, kinda of a greedy comp. their draft was much more cohesive. also, take a look how much sense medusa's farming pattern makes. shove waves, clear neutrals, shove wave, clear neutral. Pos1 players do best not playing the reaction game and more the "item timing" game

Thankfully we didn't watch the game from the Medusa pov, would've been the most boring game ever. The rest of the match was pretty entertaining, the game just ended early by a ddoser.

medusa 170 cs more than your entire team. You said she is obvious smurf yet you don't report her as a smurf. This is why dota is dying - smurfs ruin games more than 50% of the time.
