It's hilarious that the fastest way to defeat Cerberus is by spamming water blasts on him. Literally giving him a bath is optimal.
with all those sand, Grandpa is definitely a ground type so of course water would be super effective--

Its even more Ironic considering when he taunts you after act 1 when you have Posaidon boon , Chronos says "What are you gonna do? Pour water on me?".

On the topic of Bouldy, I found it very funny that he is now overgrown in green. You could probably call it moss... and you know what they say about that? A rolling stone gathers no moss, sadly Bouldies rolling days seem to be over!
The moss also looks like beard and hair

@@thekidhaku4910 Bouldy is always there he's just kinda hidden by Cerberus, and i'm pretty sure Cerberus not being there is a random occurence.

So you know, in the final area the more doors you take the more enemies spawn, so even though Hade's room itself is "free" time wise, it means that there are going to be more enemies in every room after it slowing you down.

@@justarandomdood Melinoe mentioned it at random when I was waffling between express route door or triple coin door. Something about having to face more enemies with each non express door

is it confirmed that Melinoe meant that more enemies spawn, or could she have just meant that more rooms = having to kill more enemies?

Gotta love speedruns where making the game harder means going faster.
I'm not really much of a speedrunner, though I do love speedrunning in general. Watching Haelian do this run live kinda sparked a bit of interest on my end to give it a shot. I'm far from perfect and could definitely grind out a better time, but so far my PB is 11:17 which i am extremely happy with. I don't need to compete on a WR level pace or anything but if I can do a sub 10 minute run I'd be even happier still.

The builds are definitely good insights for just good builds for an easy run instead of just trying new stuff out or doing fated tasks
Fresh file runs are also looking so cool if even more rng heavy lmao. No one has done a first run clear yet as far as i can tell, but even when someone pulls it off it'll probably still be slower since you don't unlock hammers for the first couple runs. Plus, I'm sure in different categories people can do some wacky shit with Echo. She wouldn't define runs since she's so late, but I'm sure she can do some funny shit
Just saw a fresh file today actually. I think it was posted 3 days ago. I don't have the link atm, but should be easily discoverable with a quick search
@scatmanjohn15 I've seen a couple fresh file runs, but I haven't seen a first run clear yet. Can't find one, but I was also only lazily searching and TH-cam search function is ass so who knows

really good stuff : D you've got good execution regardless of rather or not you're "mimicking" almost every speedrunner is mimicking something they've seen in some way : ) i'm sure people appreciate the humility tho you did pretty good for someone who is also talking to chat the entire time lol, chat is a handicap all their own, vow of chat should be atleast 8 fear.
Hi, Haelian, just wanted to express my gratitude for your videos, after learning from you i finally can encounter Kronos on my 15th night. I haven't been able to defeat it yet but hope will.(ps im sooooo dumb at games like this since i rarely play hackandslash or roguelike games but im quite enjoying hades 2)

I did just a bit under 8 with Hera cast and Apollo special (saw it somewhere on youtube before). but it requires a lot more rngod . not only for boons and hammers but also for rooms. it works the best if you get a lot not armored skulls in last biome

Thanks so much I used this build (- the white antler) to vanquish chronos for the first time! I was stuck for a while but it helped a lot.
The fact that you have to disable heals and stay under 30%hp as one of the most important part if u want to speedrun is actually crazy

Hey man this vid enlightened me! I just beat 32 fear with that aspect. Spamming heal when you're low is so good, and the special damage with double moonshot is INSANE! Just played super safe but wouldn't have even known how good it was until I saw this.
kinda oot but what do you think is the easiest set of fears ? i want to farm nightmares but i'm still struggling to consistently beat chronos even in a no fear run. the fear system looks really punishing.
God that staff and hammer upgrade are way too op... i imagine they will add line to that hammer upgrade that says "all your projectiles deal 50% less damage" or something.

Holy cow that damage was nuts. Funny timing because I just got my 2nd clear today and it happened to be with momus and double moonshot.
Momus was my first weapon to max out. Sometimes you just want some dumb fun.
my first time playing hades, on my 5th night. i made a build very similar to this, i had no death defies. and i almost downed chronos, he has like 20% from death. and ive never played hades 1. the absolute OP of the special spam was wild. its why they reduced its distance drastically.
How is Haelin able to mash Staff Special so fast? My thumbs hurt from watching this lol

Do speedrunning site rules allow for you to manipulate the run for the on-screen death? To influence Echo's Boon Boon Boon and/or Nemesis' keepsake.
I wonder, does the Poseidon special scale with the power from the aspect here? Because if not, why isn't it better to put like Aphro on the special for the higher multiplied damage?
Can someone answer for me in the final biom, what is the difference between a gate with a roman numeral and a gate with a god or shop or whatever? What do you gain or not gain by going the numeral vs the normal gate?
Numeral just progresses to Chronos (the numbers count down). The other doors are additional boons or power ups you can pick up, but don't get you closer to Chronos.
going to numeral gates is how you get to chronos, other chambers make it take longer to get to chronos
the longer you stay in Tartarus the more enemies spawn. so you can detour for boons and stuff or just take the numbered doors so you don’t have to fight as many enemies
at least, that’s the impression i got about how it works. could be wrong
The numbers are the “express route” and you must take them to make it to the final boss. Anything else is basically you fishing for more rewards.

In the phase 2 fight, you'd probably have enough dps to trigger the half health invulnerability which would cancel the instakill.
Just had a double moonshot, rapid moonshot, air quality, posiden special, chain lightning, support fire run with momus absolute insanity
i laterally found this double moonshot posiden combo first day lol i beat kronos with it i was like it might get nurfed and i was like na nobody knows about it

Is there a reason you chose this build over the build with a faster time? Also in Ariadnes room you could have hit an enemy out of web to get knocked below 30 then worn the highest amount armor.
What build? This is pretty much considered the top build at the moment.
It always impress me when people finish the game faster than I can clear the first biome.

How come you ended up with so much Max Health? Where are you getting it from?
Splash on special from Poseidon is basically a free run win, especially if you get double tracking shot from Daedalus.
Hades 2 appears to be water soluble, like the Wicked Witch of the west.

I have almost defeated chronos with the fire goddes boon that does fire damage with your special and afterwards i got the duo boon with demeter that doubles the fire damage that is on an opponent if you inflict freeze on them
And then here I am, still not beating chronos although I reached him on my second run and almost any run after.
The aspect of managing low health is interesting, because Pokemon speedruns often do that too for the starter’s ability
Why dis the time stopped when picking up boons and moving from one zone to another? That does not seem fair. I always thought that the speedrun time starts when starting the run and stops when completing the run and should not be stopped otherwise. Is that a built-in timer mechanism in Hades 2?
Yes it is built into the game and pauses during certain moments, same as Hades 1.

why do you need divinity, just for potential poseidon boon damage increase compared to rare and common?
It's just slightly more valuable than the other options me thinks but it's early days so nothing is set in stone.

The messenger arcana for miss chance and The lovers arcana for resist the first 3 hits against bosses

Just a WARNING dont try this build with the Sorceress 1 Arcana Card equipped its seizure inducing with flashing lights every second you spam the special

arachne along with all story rooms and a few others are considered free rooms because they pause the in game timer. for speedruns you almost always take them because you basically get to skip an encounter

Any reason not to take that archaic seal from the well after Nem, almost immediately after the sirens there was jerky - could've had sweet +40% D through Cerberus 🤤

What if you wanted to use Evil Eye for Chronos? Does that count as unseeded?
Evil eye is still less damage than antler. +40 crit rate is just really broken.
After one day of running i got to 11:52 unseeded... Damn its hard

Why 23 fear? Won't that make your run slower by putting more obstacles in your way?
He explains it at the end but certain Fear effects actually help the run. Faster enemies means they also spawn faster. No healing means he's better able to keep his health under 30 to activate Artemis' keepsake for 40% crit chance. Vow of Forsaking helps thin the pool boon for a better chance at Poseidon Lengendary (which didn't appear this run, but that's the idea)
I don't understand you show you don't have "The titan" card equiped but you start with 70 hp, how?

Why Poseidon's special specifically?
big damage plus aoe on top of being spammy with the hammer. kinda just covers literally everything.
good casts are also great but optional. hestia/(spoiler blessing) homing are pretty great!
His boons work really well with weapons that hit fast
i discovered this build on day 1 and somehow its so popular.
I found the core of this in tech test and loved it, pos special and double special hammer is just free wins, haven't used it much since launch though as staff rarely is the "thirsty" weapon for me, it's always axe or flames

It stops thw in game timer. He is running the speedrun using that timer instead of real time.

If the switch can even handle the game with its garbage processor. (Played hades 1 on switch, switched to pc since a few months)

@r00fles idk man... botw was crazy optimized and has way less amount of entities (enemies + projectiles + objects) on a screen at a single time.
My previous laptop (tried it for fun) (Intel i3 + 8GB RAM) which is still more powerful than a switch struggled a lot and dropped a ton of frames playing some of the busy areas in this game. (On the lowest graphical settings)
So idk I don't think the switch could handle the game in its current state. Maybe supergiant can make it work but then there def. Needs to be some performance optimization if they want to.

have to say Hades 2 is pretty good sequel to the first, the boons in the hades2 are really rubbish and the single dash with sprint is crap too. the magick/omega attacks add another dimension that isn't fun but other than that the game is enjoyable
