In today's video I take you to the incredible Great Wall of China. I have been to the Great Wall several times but this was my first time at the Simatai area located outside of Beijing. The views at sunset were incredible. During the video I also share with a little bit about the wall but didn't want to show too much as I want others to be able to experience the amazingness that is the Great Wall.

We have to meet someday soon. The bus took us straight from Tianjin to GuBei so no city time this trip.

It’s done through a WeChat group. They are called CET. They are based here in Tianjin and do some day trips as well as some longer weekend trips as well. Very casual. Provide transportation and some food but mostly on your own to explore which is what I love.

A Wall alone build like a fortress is really incredible. I was in Dandong before at the wall but this piece looks also amazing. I definitely will explore more areas from that wall

@@JohnThomasAbroad it's roughly 300 km southeast of Shenyang but with the train it's very fast. The part of the wall is called The Hushan or Tiger Mountain Great Wall (Chinese: 虎山长城; pinyin: Hǔshān Chángchéng) and you can easily look very far into North Korea.
looks amazing, I love seeing it snaking off in to the distance behind you :) haha trying to get a good thumbnail, I know that feeling :D I look forward to visiting China soon :) consider a phone gimbal, Dan has a big heavy one for his camcorder but I think you would enjoy walking shots and so on :)
Thanks. I have a DJI pocket that has a gimbled camera on it that I should use more often. Thanks for the reminder.
@@JohnThomasAbroad I have considered one myself but Dan does the overview shots and I do the details so non gimbal is best for me, its a lot to do on your own.
