Biden administration ‘terrified’ of war’s impact on election prospects: Analysis

- Rami Khouri, a distinguished public policy fellow at the American University of Beirut, says the Biden administration is concerned that its support for Israel will impact their hopes for re-election in the 2024 US presidential race.
“What’s fascinating here is the involvement of a third party, which is the United States. This is [a] war between [the] United States, Israel on the one side and Hamas, and other armed groups, on the other,” Khouri told Al Jazeera.
“The US is worried about many things. They are terrified of the Iranian-Israeli exchange of fire, even though they were both controlled. They are terrified of a wider war in the region, with the impact of this on oil flows, investment and global trade. It will be [a] catastrophe.
“The US government, led by the Democrats and Biden, are terrified of the impact of this war on the election prospects in November. Polls show 81 percent of young people, 81 percent of all Americans, not just Democrats, between the ages of 18 and 34, think that the war is being badly managed and they disapprove of the way the war is going and American support for it.
“This is a huge thing for American politics. And they are finding that… they don’t have the same clout that they used to.”

Many years ago, I was in India with a group of Armenians and a Palestinian, and we shared our lives. He had to go back to Palestine to protect his people and I got into an argument with him. He finished with frustration saying, "You know nothing!". And he was right. I wish I could hold him now like a brother and say "You are right".

I also have no respect for all these countries (including my own) that just keep saying "there must be a ceasefire". And then the killing of sacred lives continues, then they say it again, killing again, they say it again, killing again, then they say it again as the lives are torn apart or starved to death for lack of aid. Have we done our bit by just regurgitating the same request over and over again, maybe to pat ourselves on the back for having tried to do something.

Unfortunately few good rabi here and there(Shmuley excluded) , JVP, B’Tselem can’t turn the tide as the majority of juus are giving full support to this jennusite and then they complain of antisemitism. The world reaction is about deeds . If the bad deeds were executed by the russians ,chinese, romanians, or or the world reaction would have been the same. In this case we have witnessed some really bad deeds on both sides one deed worse than the other. No one can convince me that if at least thirty percent of the juus would have intervened and opposed the incomprehensible vendetta against innocent lives by the Isl government some sort of agreement couldn’t have been reached to stop this madness.

Every time when you see the US sending "aid" to Israel annually remember the "aid" is the US paying Israel for returning the Sinai peninsular back to Egypt.
