Its so beautiful how chess can generate hours upon hours of content on this channel, with a single game giving eighteen minutes of careful analysis of strategy, tactics, alternate moves, etc. Good stuff.
Love all your videos but in particular these deep dives into interesting games are so fantastic! Love the way you think about them, learn from them, and present them.
Only feedback I have to an otherwise great video would be to, in some way, flash the board at the end when mentioning the blundering moves in the tale of the tape. At least for those of us who have yet to develop that memory for whole-board recall.
10:42 That Nf6 continuation is pretty cool. It gives me a lot of appreciation for Giri's play. It's a position where you'd probably see the solution quickly if it was presented as a chess puzzle, but it would be much harder to see during the game, one of those lines where my brain would want to short-circuit it away as untenable... and abandon the entire winning line. Sometimes the tactics that don't appear on the board are just as pleasing as the ones that do!
the visualization required for giri to see this is crazy. At any possible moment there could be all sorts of sacrifices to save Gukesh with the rook or minor piece and giri would have to see that the three pieces vs queen is winning.
17:15 hmm what about knight C6, if queen captures the rook, then ND8? Queen is somewhat short on squares and have to waste at least one move to get back to the game while black can make use of the second rank with the rook + bishop.
Why aren't there more views already? It's been an hour and not even a thousand views, despite having half a million subscribers. Is youtube algorithm punishing this channel or is it broken?
Subscriber count says nothing about how much a video will be viewed (and according to the CEO activity doesn't either). I'm not sure how this videos view count will differ from his other recent uploads, but I suspect not so much.
13:53 can't figure out how queen takes bishop doesn't work out for white. And how black is winning. I'm a very low lever chess player, just want to what I'm missing.
Black can just play nc6, and it is two bishops and two minor pieces that are well coordinated and defend from all of the nasty mates, against one queen and one rook. Winning material advantage.
Damn I'm psyched you're doing these regular uploads of GM game analysis again
This game reminds me why developing pieces early is so important. Thanks Jerry
Thanks for posting Jerry, so happy to see you and John producing content more regularly
Hey Jerry! We are all happy to see you more often. I follow you since 2012!
I loved your longer anlysis videos, but I enjoy every video you make
16:19 the legendary queen passant
Thank you for releasing more of these analyses! I love the format and your voice a ton

Great video Jerry, thank you

Great game and great video, thanks Jerry!

Great analysis. I hope you do more game reviews from these major tournaments. Very clear, instructive commentary. Thanks.
Amazing game, felt like watching Tal. Congratulations to soon hitting 500k Jerry, well deserved.
Another solid one Jerry.
Absolutely loved it

Hello Jerry, I hope that you will cover world events and not be limited to just one match. You are the owner of the best channel for me
The use of the iqp to start the attack and dismantling of the king side was very instructive for me in this video, thank you Jerry.
Great video as usual, keep up the good work Jerry

Maybe it was prep 😮
Wonderful game.
Jerry uploaded, it's a good day
Thx fir video jerry
Man I was about to put the phone down and go to sleep. Rip waking up in time :/
It is only 20 mins long stop overreacting
@@ayushpegu527 ok cool dude
I've got to about 1800 from playing and learning from chessnetwork
He is a great teacher
Anish is on his Dubov behaviour.
Thanks Jerry. I’m leaving this comment to help you in the algorithm…
Much more instructive than...
At move 17 for black what happens if Nd7 first?
nice
When black rook took D4 then black rook to D1 is checkmate for the White Queen was even brought out
17:15 hmm what about knight C6, if queen captures the rook, then ND8? Queen is somewhat short on squares and have to waste at least one move to get back to the game while black can make use of the second rank with the rook + bishop.
after Nc6 white can play Qf5 and black has to give away their rook with either Rd1+ or Rd6 to not be mated immediately
@@zoe7696 oh I see, thanks. I just thought is there any way for black to get back into the game if queen captures the rook on a8
@@AhmetKartal it should still be totally winning but Qf5 is a lot simpler
Black queen side knight and rook looking very cold and lonely this game, very instructional thank you!

Nah, but he wasnt very active, and the algorithm rewards activity i guess
That would be logical most of the times

Jerry is OG, he deserves more attention
False dichotomy. 🙄
Giri wins... this is exceptional...
Is it?
