Love my one of these. Like you say, love having rhe radio on in the background whole im working or reading. I've taken this radio for weekends away and irs perfect.
Hello from Brazil here! So glad TH-cam recommedend this to me! I love this kinda of gadget. Reminds me of an old Philips iPod Dock I had back in the early 10s (my father is has it and uses it) -- I loved it, but the lack of basic 20s features makes it a hustle to use these days. Nice to see a company building something nice like this! Liked your review with attention to detail, if I could i'd totally get one of these to put on my bed shelf and would use it daily. Unfortunately, 99 GBP converts to a whopping 715 BRL, which is prohibitive to say the least 😅 Also from a quick research I found it impossible to find around this side of the Atlantic! But anyways, I'll keep it in mind for when I meet Europe (I hope I have some extra cash for this treat by then). Subscribed!
Great to hear from you, and thank you for commenting! It seems Roberts is mostly available in the uk but try searching for the sangean ddr-7: I believe Sangean manufactures most Roberts radios nowadays and they are a very well established company that I think are more widely available in the rest of the world. The sangean ddr-7 is basically the same as the Roberts Petite but in slightly different packaging - I should have discussed this in my video! Let me know if you can find one and if the price is more reasonable 🤞👍🙂
Is it possible to have the display showing the larger clock when the radio is not being used? Like in the thumbnail for this video? I’m struggling to find any evidence that it goes to a large clock display. Also, can you leave it connected to power at all times or are you expected to always run it off the battery?
It does show a larger clock in standby mode but only when plugged in and charging. This must be to save battery when not plugged in. I suppose it can be left plugged in. I’m not sure if that is bad for the battery over time or not but mine is plugged in a lot of the time and it seem ok so far 🙂
Is it better than JBL tuner 2 radio? I'd rather have line-in than headphone jack. Why did they change it 😕? I would connect mp3 player or even a CD walkman to line-in.
I haven’t heard the jbl tuner 2. I’d have expected the jbl to sound ‘bigger’ for sure but have read some reviews that say it sounds really tinny, which I was very surprised to read. I mean, this Petite 2 sounds fantastic but it can’t compete with something like, say, the jbl flip6 so I’d have expected the tuner 2 to have proper jbl sound quality in it 🤷♂️
I’ve had 3 of these (2 of version one and this new Petite 2) and never had an issue with Bluetooth: I’d send it beck and get it swapped for another one 🤷♂️👍
John Lewis has an exclusive variant in a burgundy type colour, and only that particular colour was on sale at £69.99, just purchased it despite it not being my preferred colour just for this discount. I am hoping it’s worth the investment given radios are generally cheap

That’s great to hear! Definitely still a valuable place for a dedicated radio in my life! This little box is great for trips away! 👍👍

@@accoutrements4469 thanks very much for responding. On that info I am going to order one. Cheers.
Hi is the cable type C to C or C to A?
Is it better than JBL tuner 2 radio?

Does it connect to wireless earbuds?
No, apparently not: that would have been a good feature. Maybe in version 3…??? 🤷♂️
The Bluetooth didn’t work on mine so I send it back,
I’m still considering picking up another one .
I just got mine today, my bluetooth doesn't find any available devices instructions aren't great on how to use Bluetooth.
@@MarkB-dj4xs that's a real shame! Are you going to return it or keep it?

I reckon burgundy would look verrrry cool on this radio! And that was a good price you got it for! Nice work, I say! I hope you’ll enjoy it! 👍
Thank you so much for just saving us £30!
I had a look and they’re all sold out now! ☹️ Looks good in that colour!
They are back in stock now!
Oh nice! Thanks for letting us know! How are you liking it???
