I had a son who suffered from depression and I was always worried about him around winter time. Use daylight bulbs to mimic daylight because your apartment is relatively dark. Physical activity/exercise will also help.
We are 10yrs in Canada, for provinces where there are a lot of snow and temp is very low, it's really hard to fight seasonal affective disorder or sad, so we decided to relocate in BC, and you get what you pay for, no regrets and enjoying life here with milder winter, we rather have rain in winter than massive snow, and even extended winter for some provinces...physical activities or a hobby that you really enjoy will help
-Focus on positive ideas and be around with people who have same disposition as well - make a goal that will benefit yourself and your family -pray and be thankful -exercise ( gym or simply walking) -vit D the higher the better -i did work alot at winter time so im out most of the time Different with small kids Take them out to do winter sports Ice rink are free in communities to enjoy so invest in a pair of skates. Eat healthy more on soups Good luck and cheers

Happiness is a choice talaga at hahanapin at gagawin talaga natin sya. Hindi sya basta basta lalapit satin. Kailangan labanan natin mga feelings n nagpapa down satin. Mahirap pero kailangan kayanin. Habang wala tayong mabigat n karamdaman o mahal natin sa buhay, I guess dapat dun palang isipin natin na blessed tayo at dapat maging masaya tayo. Kaya mo yan lalo na ikaw ang padre de pamilya. Sayo mas humuhugot ng strength family mo at basta magkakasama kayo gawin masaya ang mga araw araw. Pag sa negative feelings tayo naka focus, na mi-miss out natin maraming bagay.
Tinatamaan din kami ng lungkot ngayong Pasko tapos araw araw na ulan. Usually ginagawa namin nagpi-play kami ng happy songs sa bahay or nakikipagkita sa mga friends para makalabas labas naman. Merry Christmas sa inyo! 😊

Vitamin D na medyo mataas pa units bro. And magnesium ok din. Malungkot talaga like last year ngayon kasi mgssnow na at wala masyadong sun. Just always pray bro. Importante kasama ang family at brighter future.
You have to be strong for your family hindi makakatulong ang gumawa ka ng lungkot. Just be positive at wag magisip ng mga bagay na madedepress ka. Work lang at ipon ka at tipid good luck sa inyo.
Brad, you have a family here, you can overcome SAD through them - seriously... Ako andito mag-isa dati, over 20 yrs na ako dito, naranasan ko dinaraanan mo pero never ako nag vit-D. Yung lamig makes it worst - alam ko asan ka naglagala sa may Dixie/Brampton/Mississauga haha. Ok lang yan, you'll get over the hump... Worst comes to worst, idaan sa kaibigan at kung wala, idaan sa paguusap at spending time with your kids ☺︎
Try mong mag take ng magnesium supplement, makakatulong yun, sa Costco ako bumibili mas mura. Regards sa family mo at God bless you all......from Toronto
I'm sorry to hear you're going through a tough time, brother. Maraming nakakaranas nito dito sa Norte Amerika (S.A.D.), till dumating ang Spring time, balik na sila sa dating sigla. Wala akong S.A.D., pero I do experience the "winter blues". I do 6 things para malabanan ko ito. I'll tell you ang isa sa mga ginagawa ko, ito ay ang... I take walks. Mapa sa abalang kalsada ng Toronto o sa mga trails/natural areas (marami nito sa lugar natin, maaaring hindi mo lang pansin). Subukan mo umpisahan ng maikling lakad.. 20 min, 30 minute walk. Musika sa tenga, o mainit na kape o (matcha) tea... Kung sa tingin mo na you need to see a doctor, seek one asap, brother. Vitamin D helps. Ask your doctor how much is the right units for you, iba-iba tayo eh. I take 5000IU/day. Make sure you talk to your wife about it.. You'll be alright. Lakay ☕
