He must have played the piss out of that guitar to wear a hole in it like that. I see a whole room of guitars behind him they must not get played by the looks of that Takamine.

Unfortunately this didn't answer how it got a giant hole in it.

It is very soft cedarwood, and as he was playing a lot on the streets with it, where you play the guitar much harder to get heard, it just keeps degrading from play.
