i remember having to clean the magnetic heads with a q-tip and alcohol...when the first digital recorders came out, it was quite a sensation...now they do it all, and more, on their iphones...but i have noticed...the smarter the phones get, seems the dumber the people get.
I regulary clean the heads on these, they tend to get dirtier as the tapes are pretty old now and leave residue. Yes, the masses are being programmed to dumb down and consume quick thrills over and over.
