I'm Brazilian and I love to drive on good roads. My dream was to drive on these highways in your country. Although it seems that your highway officers are very strict with drivers who sometimes exceed certain limits. But it looks like you were lucky not to run into any of them. Make more videos like this I'll watch them all!!
I have just done a 4 month road trip in USA, 75% of drivers exceed the speed limit and there are not many speed cameras, however yes officers would be quite strict with fines I would imagine

Yes. U.S. Highway 101 is very scenic! I picked the wrong time of year to travel the Oregon/California state line area in May one year. A lot of road construction.
Check ahead. I thought it was weird that it was illegal in Oregon to pump your own gas. But now it is legal in September 2023 after 72 years. Now only New Jersey has that "illegal" pump deal.😮

1:05:45 Pineapple pancakes with coconut syrup is a genius idea that I never thought of.
This is among my favorite drives in real life. Playback at 0.75 speed is an improvement. The roof mount makes it feel like I'm driving a Semi, lower would be much better.
Sadly, the mid-roll ads ruin the experience.

After watching this video, I realized this video really wanted to show the main structure of highway itself. It is a good driving road.
However, they left out all the real beauty. That would be all the many beautiful ocean vista stops that you will find on that section of Hiway 101.
Today’s 101 isn’t anything like it was in the 70s, where the highway hugged the coastline nearly all the way up. Today’s highway is still scenic, but not like it was 40 years ago. It’s built for speed now, not scenic beauty, as much. Won’t waste three hours of my time for this, but I certainly would for the coastal vistas. There are vids of less than 10 minutes which show a lot of spectacular coastal scenes...

I'm wondering how this is filmed? Some sort of mounted camera stabilizer on the dashboard? Hard to imagine someone holding a camera or cell phone for several hours.
The Geek Monster The camera is probably on a gimbal mounted to the windshield or on a secured tripod on the dashboard.

The Oregon coast is beautiful. Unfortunately, you can't see much of the ocean from the 101 because the highway was built far enough inland that the water is mostly obscured by trees. Though, that's fine if you like driving through forest or have the time to detour into the beaches. IMHO, the California 1, both north and south of San Francisco (i.e. Fort Bragg to Point Reyes and Big Sur to Pismo Beach), is the gold-standard for scenery. There's really no comparison.

Florence area was the start and the most northern place was Oswald state park, BUT this was not a continuous drive. Clips were not in order, for some strange reason. The last 4 minutes were 80 miles back down the coast.
Where on the coast was this filmed please?
Start was Florence, OR heading North...but some clips were put in the wrong order so it jumps back and forward up the coast🙄

there's no LIMIT in Oregon, literally the word "LIMIT" is usually omitted on speed limit signs so it would just read for example: SPEED 25.
why would you pick an overcast day to film this video?
Because you can wait all summer for a clear day on the Oregon coast.

For the length of this video, this is a huge disappointment! In three hours, an absolutely spectacular video could have been produced with out of the way vistas of the old 101 coastline. This doesn’t do justice to the area...
