  • A 76-kilometer-long tourist road leading to the Utsukushi-ga-hara Highland Museum in Ueda City
It is one of Japan's representative "sightseeing mountain roads" connecting Chino City and the Utsukushi-ga-hara Plateau in Nagano Prefecture.
The name "Venus Line" is derived from the image of a goddess in the shape of Mount Tateshina along the road[3], and was chosen in 1968 as a nickname for both the Tateshina Toll Road and the Kirigamine Toll Road, and has been used continuously since the roads were opened to the public free of charge.
The road can be roughly divided into four sections, each with different characteristics: the Tateshina Highlands area between Chino City and Shirakaba Lake, the Shirakaba Highlands and Kirigamine area between Shirakaba Lake, Kurumayama, and Kirigamine, the winding road section between Kirigamine and Ochiai Ohashi that passes by Washigamine and Chausudake, and the steep and highest section between Ochiai Ohashi and Utsukushigahara Highlands. The road is made up of roads with different features.
I like to travel by car and motorcycle, and this is a video of that time.
