There’s a lot of this that I agree with you. I almost bought a Dark Horse because of you and Darren. I’m a Corvette guy 1st and foremost. Still currently own a 2011 LS3 with only 45,955 miles on her. Love the car to death but could see a Shelby GT500 next to her one day. Not a big fan of what manufacturers are doing. It’s why I love 💕 how Chevy said they’d build as many ZR1’s as customers want but who knows how long that would take to get?
A new ZR1 is gonna take a long time to get all my uncles ordered one and GM is saying a few years tell they see them
Yea I’m sure it will take a decent amount of time. Honest question and I probably already know what you would say but being a Ford guy, would you buy a 2019/20 Shelby GT350 or save some more cash and buy a Shelby GT500? My vette will probably be with me till I die. Still want to do more mods myself on her to be around 650 HP in a manual. I lean towards my next toy to be an auto because a manual is fun in short bursts but need that 3rd pedal in at least one toy.
@ I would go 500 over 350 all day long I would even go dark horse over the 350. That motor just had to many problems

This is about 27 years ago and I raised a Ferrari on I 80 which I don’t know if you know where that’s at and I kicked its ass who is a fox body XCHP Mustang. It was Hella fast. It was even so fast. My friend drove, and it scared the shit out of him.

2022 GT500 CFTP owner here. I plan to keep mine long term 👍 I agree with you, I think the Ford/ Shelby partnership is done at least for awhile. Also, when Ford/ Shelby pair up recently you get the niche line engines -- Voodoo, Predator.

Even if they make another one, it will be ugly if it's based on the S650. There's not much you can do to make those cars look good. The S550 GT500 is a modern masterpiece.

I find that my 2022 GT500 is difficult to control when launching it. It fish tails too much. Got to limit the throttle at the top end until things get going. Then it's an outright monster. Simply amazing.
Got 3,100 hundred miles on it. Pristine condition.

That GT500 is bad ass.. That’s the peek of the Shelby’s for sure.. But I have to say if Ford is only giving them 5.0s to use then it’s not really Shelby’s fault.. I can understand Ford not wanting to make another flat plane crank and having to replace 60% of the motors afterwards… I get that totally but these are premium S650s with body kits and aftermarket parts thats it that’s all.. But again I really think they did the best they had to work with from Ford..

Hey Jake, you just never know what is coming in the car business. As long as the Ford CEO is Jim Farley, he has clearly stated that Ford is not going to build boring cars and trucks. So thankfully he directed the S650 7th generation Mustang build. I wouldn’t rule out a future Shelby Ford GT 500. With the poor sales from 2024 model year hopefully Ford will open the ECU/ECM encryption so we can fully mod our S650 Mustangs. With the biden inflation problems we need Ford to offer better financing since they won’t lower the prices. With incentive financing we can get around the inflation pricing and once the encryption is unlocked the sales will pickup for 2025 model years.

I grew up in a 3 bedroom trailer with 11 people. Got my first job at 15. 29 now. I couldn’t even afford the tires on a gt500. I can’t imagine what it must be like to have a life like yours. Honestly makes me want to put a bullet in my head just by how unfair life can be. I click on videos like these because I’m in love with mustangs but it always ends with me hating myself. Enjoy every second of your life brother. If you had to put my shoes on for 5 minutes you’d understand.

The 15-20 350 is by far gonna go down as the most rare Mustang ever made due to the motor, and pretty sure that flat plane is never gonna be made again. Yes the 500 is a beautiful car, but not even close to a DRIVER’s car like the 350.

These cars are super solid platforms I would just make sure you get one with low miles and that hasn’t been raced cause people can mess things up big time but these cars didn’t really have any problems

my dad had foxbodys back in the day, june 2024 he bought a 2023 gt. he waited 20+ years to buy another one, the right one. it will be mine one day. and i swear i will never sell it. will keep it forever even if its the last thing i own. we keep it garage kept, hasn’t seen snow or rain lol.

Just wanted to bring up the idea of 1965 Shelby‘s they came with a 289 and four speed transmission from the Ford factory, which was a K code 289 high-performance that had 271 hp then Shelby put a better intake and carburetor on it and also added full length headers and the car then had 306 hp🇺🇸

Yeah I think both the S197 and S550 GT500 will go up in value now. I can’t believe Shelby is gonna use the MT82 in the new 350. I prefer the dark horse over that new 350.

I assumed once the s650 was revealed and they showed the dark horse, that they were parting ways with Shelby for whatever the reasons may be to do there own thing, and I think now with the 350 being revealed as a Shelby American product, that confirms it. I totally expect our next flagship ford model to be the Darkhorse Boss or some sort of wild name like that. However with the lack of sales for 2024 they either A. Better make the gamble quick and release it to try to drag interest back in or B. They won’t release a “GT500” successor because of sales falling for even the regular models. Curious to see what’s going to unfold next with the mustang name for Ford

Chrysler actually used the Charger and Challenger to sell a small SUV in TV commercials! They actually tried to sell a small SUV to muscle car fans.

That new gt350 is still a bad ass car but sooo disappointing they didn't put the Tremec and the 5.2!but I especially the trans, the 5.0 is a proven beast so.. still if you bought a performance pack, $59k $10k Whipple $3-5k interior $5k in trunk hood front clip spoiler $2k exhaust $3-5k BMR susp $5-7k wheels tires $3-5k in coolers fans diff trans oil your getting $90k ish that's no installation most can't do then you count the Shelby name certification and value holding, that $100k makes sense to me although still disappointing mostly on the Tremec. The 5.0 is so proven and just as strong as the Predator maybe stronger now even.
The GT500 motor is the strongest one they have made that’s in the mustangs I would say Gen 2/3 coyote are very strong but I have seen people push the Shelby motor to 1300
@ wrong the Gen3 Coyote have the same forged components as did the 2020 gt500 and have held more stock bottom hp than the predator way more than the Voodoo that's just facts, gt500 only had more stock hp because of the blower, the Gen3 are a higher compression engine from Jump 12:1 making them build power quicker and they held up better

If you’re not too far in May 12, I think it is I’m going to all Ford Mustang car show in Fairfield California. It might be too far for you to bring your Mustang down. There is over 150 to 200 Mustangs there and it gets bigger every yearis called the Golden Hills Mustang club.

Ford may not but there is a little company named Shelby American ....a True Shelby comes from them & 1965 was the first year of the Shelby GT350 Cobra Mustang . 65 - 69 ( 70's were actually leftover 69's ) .

My gt goes back to the shop again. Different shop this time nothing like paying to fix the problems that the other shop caused because they want to deny any responsibility.

@ItalianStallion410 took it to shop to get new trans installed they didn't put in the computer to adjust shifts so the spliced the oss wire now speedometer don't work no od and shifts are off. Thought I could fix but weather has kept me from being able to get under it.
Mr Shelby had a higher standard than what they have produced being the new 350 and 500 they should put a stroker coyote with twin turbo setup the they will be king of the road no doubt about that

It won't be the last and the 2020-2022 gt500 prices are going to continue to fall. There's nothing to make them skyrocket in value as production was in the 4-5k range. Add on top of that the amount of people who are in debt and or dumping assets such as cars to avoid debt, the market just isn't there. The amount of listings for gt500's that have sat for months isn't a good sign either.
Everyone could be selling things for different reasons also ZR1 just sold at auction yesterday for 300k I think the GT500 is a much better car

The big question is, "What's the story, Lori?" What is Ford and the engineering team going to do now that we all know people are not thrilled about what Ford has been doing with "Mustang" and the Shelby offerings. BMW has listened to what people want and not just told the customers what they are going to get. Emissions may be changing coarse with room for designing and producing cool cars again.

I think ford will never build another one. I think they lost the naming rights. With the boss coming back and the gtd etc is the first clue. I will be keeping mine forever. I am 52 own several mustangs loved them since I was a kid. My grandpa had a 67 fastback and my uncle had a 70 mach and a 71 mach. I grew up loving them. I wanted a shelby and now I have one it isn't going anywhere. I may add another.

The truck you’re talking about in Germany they said it didn’t do it for the Mustang when they said it was Corvette and I said no they didn’t. It was the Mustang GTD and then they still talk shit and then look what happened last week. Mustang kicked their ass. Mustang was in first and Corvette was in second in the point right now Mustang’s upfront and Corvette second, so tell them to shut their ass up for the Corvette lovers and Ford Mustang’s gonna win the race in March and win the championship.
