We sang this hymn as the last song at my beloved grand mother’s funeral a couple months ago. What a blessing we were able to do this for her. It brings uncontrollable tears to my eyes.
Mine has passed while I'm still young but her making me go to a good ole Baptist church growing up that sang these, kept them in my heart and is the only way for me to truly feel worship anymore. God bless her and I pray I see her in Heaven, but she was a complicated person.

This is a song that helped me to remain faithful to the Lord while I was in prison. We sung it several times while I was down. It is awesome that it's on here! Praise God!!!
As an appreciator of both, I say avoid that moral high horse. Christian rock that glorifies the name of Jesus can be as powerful as hymn. God is far more dynamic and understanding of the hearts of his people than a mere cardboard cutout of what people think a Christian is. I don’t mean to get so passionate from your comment, but you can trust God has his people in it on the hymn and rock front.
Love this song, especially the last stanza, which replaces and old version. What touches me in this stanza is the revelation Jesus gives us of the oneness of His body and freedom from indwelling sin. Finally, the call to come out of Babylon into the glorious church. I am praising God for this victory in Jesus!

Visited a friend out of state this past weekend as her grandfather wasn’t doing well. I am not religious, but we sang this to him after the church service we had Sunday morning and he was mouthing the words as everyone sang. He passed this morning and I’m back out of state. Listening to this to honor him as a preacher, father, and grandfather, and as a final comfort for myself

I was raised going to church every Sunday at a major denomination (I won't mention which one) but as an adult I found myself going to church because I was supposed to, not necessarily because I wanted to. Then, during a very dark time of my life, an old friend whom I hadn't spoke with for years reached out to me an extended the offer to have me come to their church service for a visit. Adter that, Church became something i looked forward to every week and my faith grew stronger and deeper, and 6 years and 4 months later, I accepted, with tearful eyes, christ as my one lord and savor, and i was rebaptized in the river. Praise God
I was raised in the church but was given a works based, social gospel. I was not saved. I lived a dark life into my late forties then Jesus, called me to Him. I now follow Christ and know Him personally. I am saved by His blood shed atonement on the cross. God is good, and long suffering. Hallelujah!

John 3:16-17," For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." Love others as you want to be loved, forgive your enemies and seek Jesus with all your heart. This is what I am reminded in this song. Jesus loves us ALL, even sinners and unbelievers. Today, February 10, 2013, I helped carry my beloved uncle to his final resting place. This was sung as a solo at the gravesite. I love you, Uncle Johnnie.
When I was at Marine boot camp, we used to sing this almost every Sunday at church. It never failed to move me. Reminded me of being at home...I'm not much for church anymore, but this hymn will always lift me up.

I say this song is awesome because it tells how God gave his life so we could be free from sin we are all still sinners but he died so we could repent of our sin I thank God so much for that he is holy

Hi ,I used to be here I grew up in the church and this song was sung in the days when bro Daniel Layne was the still the leader I have always had high respect as it was felt clearly that he had a burden to show love to the world and to be a light were there was darkness. His voice is the one starting this song .
I look forward for the days when the love and the anointing will be there like it was in those days, then it would be hard for me not to return home.

Right out of Revelation, "PEOPLE COME OUT OF HER" Referring to the symbolic City Babylon, City of sin. COME OUT OF HER PEOPLE, COME OUT AND KNOW JESUS AS YOUR SAVOIR! Way back in 1988 our boy leader suddenly died in Boy Scout Troop 350. We sang this song at his funeral. My asst. scoutmaster belted this out with the worst voice I ever heard. It still sounded beautiful and I will never forget it every time I hear this song. Praise the Lord RIP Allan
