Brightly coloured red paint, well maintained stairs, yeap definitely "looks" abandoned...🤔
Lol compared to most shrines, this one definitely did look abandoned and it mostly was. I think you underestimate the ability of the Japanese people to keep things looking nice for years after they've touched up the paint or maintained it.
