Event: Vanamahotsav Celebration
Introduction:
Vanamahotsav, is an annual event celebrated in India to promote afforestation and protect the environment. Our school, enthusiastically participated in this noble initiative in collaboration with forest department of Bihar.
Objectives:
1. To create awareness about the importance of trees and forests.
2. To encourage students to plant and care for trees.
3. To promote environmental conservation.
Activities:
1. Tree Plantation Drive: Forest Department officials from Khizersarai and Atri, Students and staff planted 30 saplings in the school premises .
2. Essay Writing Competition: Students wrote essays highlighting the importance of trees and wild life. The winners are 1st Vikram Narayan - IX A,
2nd - Harsh Raj - IX A
3rd - Mohit Kumar - IX C
3. Poster Making Competition: Students created posters emphasizing the need for environmental conservation. The winners are 1st - Ribha Kumari - IX B
2nd - Siddharth Kumar -

4. Guest Lecture: A guest speaker of forest department Mr Giri delivered a lecture on the benefits of afforestation.
Outcome:
30 saplings planted
Increased awareness among students and staff about environmental conservation
Enhanced sense of responsibility among students towards protecting the environment
Conclusion:
Vanamahotsav celebration at St Thomas English School was a resounding success. We pledge to continue our efforts towards environmental conservation.
