- One thing I will say about Journey to Batuu's build and buy mode is it's big! But at what cost? How much of this stuff do you think you'd end up using?

So, as a Star Wars fan myself, I have to say that I'm regrettably disappointed with this pack. I was very hyped for it, even though the majority of the community was hating it. But still, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and was excited. But watching the Game Changers play really let me down to see how many shells and rabbit holes and how all of this makes me bored. It had lots of potential and, sincerely, I'm very sad. But I still think I can find use in the build/buy and clothing, if I want to create a dystopian story in the Sims... like Hunger Games and stuff. Maybe that's something that will interest you too, to make a let's play of this sort... I think it can be quite interesting!
Same. I was excited about this, but the gameplay looks meh. However, I'm definitely going to be using the BB for post-apocalyptic settings. I love those.
You should see James Turner and Deligracy play them.
I was thinking something along the same lines with the dystopian future idea. I prolly won't buy it until it goes on sale though.

I have few questions I need to know for Sims 4 Batuu dlc
1.Will i be able to use my lightsaber in battle outside of batuu in your sims homeworld??
2.Are lightsaber have their own Skills or is it skills based on fitness skill or does it not matter??
3.Will i able to use my starwars droids outside of batuu ??
If everything is limited to Batuu im not buying i would want to use a droid AnyWhere Any World, and Lightsaber spar AnyWhere Any World
I want to redo that underground shelter from Strangerville with all that clutter and decor items. I think there would be some great post apocalyptic or cyberpunk builds to do with this!

IDK I just love the B&B items

As for the small dining tables and chairs, you can use them to make a themed restaurant. In Oasis Springs or New Crest.
That’s what I was thinking. I’d never use any of this stuff to make a house for my Sims to live in (except in Batuu but that doesn’t look like it’s really possible) so maybe a themed restaurant. But I’m not getting this pack.
Yes. I'm thinking these assets are great for a themed bar, movie theaters, and arcades.
I really hope people don't buy this pack JUST to own every pack. Only buy it if you like it, and even then you should wait for a sale because it's not worth full price.
I'm buying it. Cause I like Star wars. N I'm all for sales. I didn't want university at 1st. Then it went on sale at Target, so I picked it up. I ended up liking it more then I thought. This pack, is like Strangerville to me. I really wanted that pack, paid full Price, n use it alot.

I would love a garden-plants-Nature pack where everything is peaceful and neutral tones. Not like romantic garden I think that pack it's very fancy and I Don't know, more like botanic witchy, herbs and that stuff xc.

So... no bed, no plumbing, no kitchens and an archway that looks much like the jungle adventure one... Why so many bars? Why cant the huge bar backing things be counters or something ? I can usually find stuff in BB that makes me want to get a pack, but this is the one I’ll be passing on, even though I like star wars... At least a bed would’ve been nice for a Star Wars fan’s room... :(
Kitchen and bed I don’t care but imagine bathroom set with this build style :(.
After playing Star Wars for 2days. I noticed there are alot of usable stuff in the pack. I noticed on the what's in the game videos, they only showed Half the stuff. Like No One showed the 5? Tile wide arch way. I'm like I can finally finsh my one build with this. Also Strangerville n Get to Work go really well with this pack. Also if you like to do Parks, gardens ext, there some really cool tile choice in the pack. Don't go off the game play videos. It's only a part of what's there.
It seems like we get a new bar almost every pack. I would be very surprised it we don't get one.

I forgot which pack they are from. Or how about the EL ones, with the shower from University.
There are a few things I can see myself using, but not enough to make me want to buy the pack. Thank you for the detailed look at everything!

I see steampunk builds, evening using stuff in Harry Potter builds.
A couple of these pieces seem like they would work in an industrial home/apartment.
I was holding out hope that the build buy stuff would be worth it, but it really doesn't seem like something I'd enjoy. I hate not looking forward to a pack, but hopefully I find the next one interesting! Thanks for a thorough overview!

Considering that there is nowhere to build in Batuu, it would’ve been good if they’d made some of the build/buy items more useable in everyday builds. Other than in Strangerville, everything will look so out of place. Disappointed :(
the flooring and lights are really the only selling point for me. I'm a big star wars fan but will defo wait for a sale before buying
I hate to say it...but I'm really liking the build/buy catalogue. The colour palette fits well with Oasis Springs/Selvadorada/Strangerville. That mix of chunky tech and chunky old-school items complement each other really well. I can already picture any number of builds I could create using this, mixed in with that! That coppery lights though! The wallpapers and flooring are also really nice. It's definitely not for every build, or every builder...but I can see myself using it.
yes! and it’s a huge catalog too but the pack as a whole just sucks. i love this design style tho
@@MargieLeigh3 "Sucks" is perhaps a bit harsh. There are people who really seem to be excited for it. I'd rather just be happy for them and let them have this. I'll probably get this on sale at some point, for the build/buy. I do agree that nothing else about this pack excited me personally. :-)
Keita Darkwolf i agree! it’s not my type of pack so i’ll get in on sale/in a bundle. it’s fine if other people are happy with it, i’m glad they are, but most simmers & star wars fans aren’t happy with it which is why i said it sucks lol

As a star wars fan, the hover craft is really cool xD. As a sims fan... I don't think I'll be buying but that corner booth - I love!!! I was waiting for some more corner booths as there's not that many in dine out, shame we get one in a pack I'm not going to buy :(. Thanks for showing us the items
I hate to admit it but I actually like a lot of this stuff. The glowing tables, and the windows are my favourite. The lights are cool.

Think out of the box guys. You could use the items for steampunk or industrial builds.. mad scientists and labs. Forgotten temples of sims history past. They don't have to be "SW only items" you just have to think of things that just aren't "every day" looking. :)
I am looking at the stuff and starting how I would love to make a steampunk house. All the steampunk cc I find crushes my games so I am very excited about this pack.
Exactly! Even used in small doses for “normal” builds these items are incredible. I don’t understand all the comments about it being unusable. I’ve never been excited about so many of the items in a pack before!
Loving the grungy feel to all this. Probably not useful if you're build a pretty house sort, but I love doing historical, grungy post apocalyptic builds so they'll be lots of fun for me but can see it's not everyones cup of tea. Loving the stone stairs & paving for gardens.
The hover looks like they just used the same script as is used for the pool floats we got with Island Living and not like it’s going to be adapted to cars. That would also explain it not having any interaction since you’re not just going to sit and float in a vehicle.
It'd be hilarious if you could pop it on the ocean in Island Living and it works the same.

I actually like the aesthetics of the items, and together with Strangerville and items from other packs it would definitely be possible to build your own sci-fi, dystopian, or steam punk world. However what's missing is a world in which that is actually possible without constant broken immersion because of random NPC's, cars, or trams showing up. I wish they would have included that with the star wars pack. An empty world similar to Newcrest, but with different options how the world outside the lots looks and what kind of NPC's show up. That would be good for all sorts of gameplay from historic to sci-fi.

Is the Sabbac table in the activities section? I love that the doors just open, I can use them when creating a handicapped accessible build I wish I had doors like that in real life. Thank-you for going over the build and buy mode items so well.
The build and buy mode is perfect to live my dystopic bunker fantasy
You can use the tool mod by Twisted Mexi and scale down some of the items or turn them around and such to make other things from them. Like that large thing from the cantina looks like a steampunk chandelier, you can turn that upsided down and make it look like a city outline and put that in a garden, with scaled down cobblestone mats to make a path to the center of the garden.
I like all of the sci-fi, steampunk looking stuff. It makes me inspired to build a Strangerville inventor's lab or something. Not at full price ofc, but I don't hate it.
ngl I'm excited to build some cyberpunk builds with these assets, even tho I'm disappointed this pack is Star Wars themed.
The number of items seems higher than usual.
I think it'll be one of those packs that will get drawn on for bits and bobs in creative builds in general. It's one of those that will grow in reputation in the builder subsection of the Sims community not for it's theme, but for the creative ways they use the objects in other projects.
As someone who bases their houses on their sims (I.E my vampire sim lives in a gothic mannor, next door to a mermaid who lives in a summer style house, next door to a witch sim who lives in a Hogwartian style home in the same neighbourhood) this is great, I'm gonna have my Star Wars sims live in a styled home, I'm not mad about it, this stuff looks great.

Even if you wanted to make a Star-Wars themed build somewhere like Oasis Springs, it's possible to do it with basegame, strangerville and get to work. Simproved just came out with a video showing her speed-build of Batuu without the use of the Star Wars pack. So... Idk.
Literally just came here to see the build and buy since the pack is on sale right now and I don't know much about Star wars but I want to have all the packs. I probably will buy it since I like to do industrial/bunker style houses and the items could work there. Probably will never play with the actual pack jedi thing or whatever it is XD

I love steampunk and post-apocalypse gameplay and builds so maybe a third of the items in this looked like they had some potential to me. If they came in a stuff pack (Steampunk Stuff - yeah!), I'd be so hyped for this! But the giant Star Wars items and the notion of having a Star Wars world in all my saves are super off-putting. Not to mention paying the price of a game pack when there's literally no gameplay that I am interested in. It's such a shame.
The debug-items are really cool

I hate how often Sims 4 doesn't let you build in pack specific worlds. It just doesn't make sense to me. Like you, I can't see myself using many of these items in a regular neighborhood build.
"Can't ride around in a landspeeder" Yeah, one of my biggest disappointments when Sims 4 released was the lack of transportation. Well, there were many disappointments, so.....
I rarely play TS4 because TS3 just has so many more options for gameplay, even after all the packs EA has released for TS4. When you create a new iteration of a game series, I expect more options, not less. But that's a different issue.
If I played TS4 more often I might consider this on sale. But I really doubt it. I appreciate your thorough coverage though. Thanks so much.

I like the bar, but not enough to buy this pack. First pack ever that I won't buy, going back to Sims 2. (Yep, even bought Katy Perry's.) They totally dropped the ball on this. It needed a lot more usable build/buy to make it worth my time.

Thanks for the overview! I definitely feel like some of the bigger decorative items could have been put in the debug category instead of normal build/buy. I agree with the items being sadly over-sized and clunky. Compared to the Eco Lifestyle assets these almost don't look like they belong in the same game and that makes them more difficult to use in other builds. I'm also a little disappointed regarding new gameplay objects. In this overview there doesn't seem to be a single unique gameplay object? Sure there are the Sabacc tables but we already have game tables in game so it's not really new. That's truly disappointing to me. I do like the floors, the crate shelf, the plants and some of the wall decor pieces though. I'm sure there are creative builders out there that will come up with super innovative ways to use a lot of this stuff and I can see it used in steampunk-y builds. Not that useful for more "standard" gameplay, but that's not surprising to me. On the flip side: at least we didn't get a new toilet! 😂
I have..... many mixed feelings.... I kinda wanted a baby Honda sort of crib maybe..... definitely more furniture type options.. maybe a speed racer type kids bed? Idk oh well
I really wish we could turn the pack on or off because I really would love to have Star Wars peeps wondering round my world. I want to see if I can get Kylo Ren and Rey to come and visit me and then move them in so I can play them and make them have babies lol

I was so hopeful to have a new life state. But was sorely disappointed by the reviews. I won't but it full price. I'll wait until it's super cheap and only for the CAS and objects. I will probably never even got to Batuu because I don't like all the quests. I like doing my own thing in the game.

Nothing about this pack seems like it’s really geared towards anyone. Like star wars fans don’t get the full experience of building on batu or the potential game play. And then the regular sims players don’t have items that are versatile. This seems like a really poorly done cash grab and it looks like it’s going to flop in my opinion

tbh the quality of the items matters more than the quantity of them... i'm a huge fan of star wars but after watching game changers' videos about the pack i have no interest in buying this at all
i'm a huge fan of the grunge aesthetic, but i don't think build mode alone is enough for me to want to buy this pack. i really hope they won't be dissuaded from future grunge items just because people are disappointed in the pack as a whole, though. for me, at least, it's the break in immersion combined with the subpar gameplay that is the most upsetting.

From what i saw of the gameplay and Build Buy this pack is the only one that does not contain anything i want, so its a no buy for me and i am not even tempted. Back when my first pet stuff released i didn't buy it first but in the long run i wanted some things so i bought it. So i am quite happy that it turned out that way for me but at the same time its sad.
I do alot of evil/rusty scientist or inventor type gameplay so some of this stuff is reusable but it really would've been better if they made the gameplay itself more "generic scifi" than specifically Star Wars. Still don't want this pack.

Thanks this was what I was waiting for as a builder. I could use 5 or 6 of these items for my industrial builds but I wouldn't buy it right away. I would never build a star wars themed build so what I'm get for the money wouldn't be worth it.

I really appreciate you going through the build/buy item-by-item! I knew I wasn't going to buy the pack on release day since I don't care for Starwars at all, but I was on the fence if I'd ever buy it if it were on sale and this showed me that there's nothing useful here for how I personally build/decorate (not to yuck anyone's yum - if this is your aesthetic, stand in your truth). I will say that I'm a little disappointed because I've bought every Sims pack and have used all of them (even My First Pet Stuff for children's bedrooms), so this will be the first and (hopefully) only one that always stays grayed out in my game.
this will be the first positive thing I will say about this pack, but I can't wait to see what people will create with this build stuff.

This is not just Star Wars - we can use for Steam Punk - End of World kind of game play no that is not for every one but Heck Yeah I am SO here for it.

I like your assessment of the items, and I would like to say, if some of the decorative storage items can be used as storage that would be good. You can build a warehouse and use some of the crates for that.
I'm like I'm using that chair in my Bus n Train builds. I'm using that in my Harry Potter built. 14 mins into video. Omg I can do steampunk with this pack. Yeah I've already building, n don't have game yet

This pack is so helpful for someone (like me) who likes to build fantasy lots, speacially steampunk themed! Also it matches so well with jungle adventure! AAAAA
Agreed.. we already have so many 'normal' furniture that look very samey so it's nice to see something more quirky for fantasy builds.. I think some of these look pretty industrial too and can be statement pieces in more regular builds too

yes im disappointed in the pack but looking on the brightside it would be cool to make a kid/teenager's room that's star wars themed with some of the small items like the helmet, banner etc. but yeah.. still rather have cars/better babies/farming etc. xD
I may want it to redo the desert or one of the worlds I don't use much into an alien/sci-fi world. Me & my droid doing a sci-fi rags to riches? I'm more Star Trek than Star Wars but I'd like livable sci-fi world. I could use Strangerville but don't want the story there intruding. I think I would like this pack better if it was an integrated world. I know that would come with the hazard of the Star Wars characters bleeding into the others... but I don't care... theres's already aliens and if a player doesn't want that then don't buy the pack or turn it off.

Literally nothing in this pack is versatile, except the tile. Cool. Glad I already made the decision not to buy this pack. Star Wars does not belong in the Sims.
Finally, a build/buy review! As a builder, I think there are a decent number of useful items in this pack. Definitely a pack to consider... when on sale of course!
This pack is perfect for most of the builds and storylines I tend to make, but I'm on the fence because the gameplay seems meh and the world isn't really buildable (although I think you can edit some of the lots in freebuild?). I'll think about getting it when it's on sale, I guess, since I KNOW I'd be using the build/buy and CAS items constantly.
