How the guys were cast, I do not know, but I do know I have only seen such chemistry between two actors in the Hong Kong film, Bishonen. Addicted lyricism is something to behold. I feel that a second series is not possible because no production house in China will make it which leaves Taiwan or Korea which may well but both of the actors have moved on since 2016 to mainstream movies. Perhaps they found their happiness in the stars and I would kill to interview them to ask what made it the way it was... I found its dynamic of sensuality something so beautiful to behold. I will read the book. Addictive, really...

I watched this series a few times. Especially the two main characters did a great acting. I dont know whether they are gay or hetero, and I dont care. But the emotions they put into it is amazing. Whatever, I am convinced that they had/have a special relationship that lasts forever. Even these old, stubborn, narrow-minded politicians can't change that. Where is humanity and freedom ?
I think the comeback of bao's ex-gf would be the best conflict and added challenges in bao & gau's relationship. Season 2 must be continued please. Such a fan of this drama. I love it. It has to be with the same original casts (all of them) for the continuance of Season 2. 🙂

The disaster would be to release it with different actors, unless it was so very cleverly done. It is the chemistry of two talents who had never acted before and a director who had never directed before. Many components made it unique and when the Ming dynasty is taken away, it is hard to replace.
This series is being shown in thai...so I hope they will atleast show us the season 2 of this series in thai language.....they can request them the rights❤❤❤.
