    Great video! I was just hoping to hear the bolts specs and tighten pattern.

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  ปีที่แล้ว

      The tightening pattern is criss cross. The torque spec is about 10nM (7 ft/lbs). Or German tight if your arm is trained enough 😉

      Yes, you can do the small pan too. There's a separate gasket for it

    Thanks for showing the process. Why put oil in the pan if you are going to pump it in anyway?

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just faster and less pumping needed

    Great video, but the rear u joints do go bad sometimes. I had an 07 x3 completely let go of its rear joint. No replacement available. But no worries, you can buy An aftermarket driveshaft (the entire thing bc they won’t sell parts) for 500 👍🏾

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tips. Old school Bimmers are a little better and stronger built. I haven’t seen u-joints go bad on them much. There’s also another option which is taking it to the driveshaft shop so they can rebuild it.
      I also work on classic Mercedes and they sell ujoints for those

    good evening Vito, have you got idea how much oil need 316i 1.6l need for the auto gear? i just bought for my wife , but the morning i listen somethink like krits krits krits when she start to go, after seconds stop and run spesial. ..thanx for the video

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you hear a noise when you’re driving, it seems like something is rubbing against something. Check you driveshaft or brake dust shields. I don’t think the problem is with the transmission. But it’s a good idea to do the transmission fluid service anyways. For your transmission I would buy about 6 liters of oil

    Hey so I drive a 93’ 318is coupe automatic. Currently trying to just put the atf fluid into the car due it draining out from when I took out the radiator. How would I be able to add this??

    I have a 1998 328is with 166k miles and I’m not sure if the transmission fluid has ever been replaced (probably not) & I heard that changing it out with fresh fluid at that high of mileage can damage the transmission, is that true?
    Subscribed!!(:

      Hi. Thank you so much for watching and supporting. And you must change it. Nothing will happen, just do the same procedure I did in the video. Drain the old fluid, remove both pans (preferably both and both pans have gaskets), clean the pans and mating surfaces, install new gaskets , put it back and refill it. I recommend to put 1 qt of Lucas Trans Fix additive along with new fluid. Make sure the car is level when jacked up and make sure to adjust the fluid level to the right one.
      Change your automatic trans fluid every 40k-50k miles and your trans will last forever.

      It's a 1994 325i, so I think it has a GM trans in it. I don't think it's a ZF trans. What exactly are you trying to fix on yours?
      It's my friend's car. We got it last year because we wanted to save the car. It had a cracked cylinder head from someone overheating it badly. But we fixed her up. I have an E36 playlist you can check
