Oh if you liked The Hobbit, you will REALLY like the Lord of the Rings. All other fantasy series are really just copies of that and nowhere near as good. The language is almost Shakespearean, and the backstory, the nice long denouement, really a pleasure.

Okay this has definitely convinced me to pick it up as soon as possible!

I'm not a big fantasy person but I love the Hobbit and the LOTR books. I used to reread the hobbit every year during the first week of January. I haven't read it in years though. I think I hit my reread cap lol.

    R. F. Kuang does pronounce the "a" in "Babel" like the "a" in "babble". Note that the interviewer starts with a different pronunciation, but changes after the 1st time he hears the pronunciation of "Babel" by Kuang.

In my opinion, what Tolkien built it's something else you don't see often. ❤ I'm really glad you liked it! 🤗 I haven't finished it yet although I have seen the movies multiple times and read the comic of The Hobbit. Also, I am going to make sure I will finish this month book and try to be more active within the bookclub. 🫂

I completely agree with you about Tolkien, truly one of the most influential writers not just in fantasy, but in broader literature. And you’re too kind! Can’t wait to read with you💕
