We always get snow before Halloween and I remember it snowing on the 4th of July. But Montana is so much prettier than here.

Why would you show temps in Celsius?

Great callout. That was definitely not my intent. I had to go back and rewatch this one to see what you were talking about. It should have shown the screen shot in Fahrenheit, but I am not able to change it now unfortunately. :(

You grew up in Michigan! Did I know that? Ha ha. I lived in Michigan after growing up on the beach. I LOVED the winters! Took my ice skates down to the lake about 1 1/2 miles away by road, and had so much fun perfecting my skating! That was my winter activity of choice!
Driving the first winter was not good, because I had a rear wheel drive Dodge Duster that slid everywhere! Next winter I had a small compact car with front-wheel drive. Yay! 30 min drive to work, needed that traction.
*The right vehicle for Montana winters is crucial too. I know you have them. *grin.
I have my Subaru for my winter driving after my black ice MVA in an older Toyota Camry wagon.
It's April. We've gone from snow to 85 degrees this month. I need cooler! Irises are blooming. We have a lot of Iris picture with snow on them. Fingers crossed!
Great video. Did you get a sun getaway this year?

Haha, I always love your stories and memories. I never had that much fun ice skating. I must not have gotten good enough. It always hurts my ankles. ;p

Hey Janet! Great vid. Probably one of the best related to the winters in FH county. Question…
If you had to guess… What % of the year are you getting sunny and/or partly sunny days on average? I can Google the stats, but what’s your guess if you had to say without looking it up?
My wife and I are lusting about moving there and currently have a family cabin (my grandparents built) in West Glacier on the golf course. So we are up every summer.
Just so curious about winter and the shoulder months and if I would be able to hack it as someone moving from Texas.

Haha, well my initial though was 1 out of 3 but in Winter sometimes we can go a week plus with cloudy days but if we have snow it definitely brightens things up. It's so hard for me to say because I moved here from MI which was very similar but I know TX is super sunny. That said, it's also super humid and you will love the lack of humidity and cooler MT nights here. I just helped some clients move here from TX and they were so excited but they've also lived in CO and CA before so had an idea of what they were getting into. Can you visit in the Winter for a week or two. I know that's not the same as living here but at least it would give you a small idea of what to expect. And, you can try out some Winter activities. Haha, my husband said 2 out of 3. Now he's looking it up. It says 41% so between our guesses.

@@RadiantRealty thanks so much for the input. I think coming up for a few weeks in the winter if not a full month would be a great call and worth the test. Thanks again!

@@KevinFremon my pleasure. If you guys make it up and want to meet for coffee let me know. Happy to sit down and chat about any other questions you might have. It sounds like you have a pretty great idea already with the place in West Glacier though. That is a huge perk!

@@RadiantRealty thank you! Will do. And yes, so lucky to have a spot in West Glacier for our extended family.

'Well the winter tried to freeze him, it tried it's level best at 100 degrees below zero, he buttoned up his vest. It froze clear down to China, it froze all the stars above, at 1000 degrees below zero, it froze her logger love.'

@@RadiantRealty It is a verse from a party song my family would sing in the 1960's and 1970's while living in Olney Mt. when it was a Mill town and Logging town it was always a hit song for the lumberman in those days. This song can still be found on TH-cam called ''Frozen Logger'' by The Weavers
