Nick, thanks, although my comments were from quite a long time ago now, so they may have appeared 'late' and not newsworthy. If you want to try to show the floodlights, again, then the best way is to view them along the longest, shallowest trajectory, which means you should fly at one of the NW/NE/SE/SW corners and look diagonally across the stadium to see the top front edge of the walkway through the trusses. They are in groups of 3, generally along the East and West stands and groups of 4 or 5 along the South and North stands' walkways. You can actually see them from the South or North as well, if you look to the side and well behind the Giant Screens.
@@misterdroneuk Hi, Nick, yes, indeed they were but not for the first time. I commented about them before all of you went on the tour, so pointed them out multiple times on a few channels. Cheers Nick. Great work as usual. I'd love to know when they're going to sort the end pieces for wrap-around sections of the north stand. They've been exposed for ages and it's at odds with all the smart brick and steelwork around it.
Hi Nick, great piece as usual. I was wondering if you could possibly confirm if the Everton way was inspired by the Celtic way at Celtic Park, and if there where any communication between both clubs regarding it. HAIL HAIL UP THE TOFFEES
Hi Nick, Question regarding the brick facade; what’s the reason for the black cladding on the exterior and the differing distances between the brick facade and black cladding. Thanks, and keep up the good work.
Only just picked up on the blue flags/stones that are to represent water. It’s the dock water isn’t it ?? I’ve followed the original dock wall that’s visible from aerial view above the fan plaza turning left towards the north stand just next to the pump house Brilliant sorry for being so slow on the uptake 😂😂
you can see the floodlights clearly on your tour video (4.05 on the 'inside tour only' version) attached to the pitch side of the maintenance gantry. Also in todays video we can see the final bits of roof trim being added to the diagonal gap in the east stand polycarbonate sheets (both ends)
Hi Great video, would you ask what they’re going to doing with the fans ashes that are in Ernes placed in Goodson park ground, are they being moved to the new stadium?
Hi Nick, Great video as usual. The roof seems to have a few stripes on it, with there being slightly different colours in the long strips that are on the top (if that makes sense). Will there be some sort of finishing spray applied to it so as to make it all one colour?
Have followed your video's since day one and enjoyed your excellent content and the high quality so keep up the great work Nick! Not sure if this has been asked by anyone before, but why are the see through panels on the east stand barrel cladding not uniform. There are four same size areas towards the south end and only three areas towards the north end which are not the same size. Might seem a trivial point but I would have thought this should have been a uniform pattern. Makes me think they must have put a few wrong cladding panels towards the north end instead of the see through ones. Apart from that, it looks brilliant and well done to LO'R for a fantastic and fascinating construction sequence.
Not a mistake, part of the design. The air exhaust vents are placed over extractor fans from hospitality/kitchens. There did appear to be an extractor fan where they haven’t installed an air exhaust vent, which was surprising. Does look odd.
Hi Nick, again another great video, with you saying how big it was being inside on the tour do you think the club got the actual stadium size correct or like myself and many other’s still can’t understand why they didn’t go for 60k plus?
Personally, I think the club made a big mistake not opting for 60,000 when you consider there are 34,000 Blues now on the season ticket waiting list. Apparently, the club commissioned a ‘specialist’ consultant to investigate the optimum capacity and the conclusion was around 50,000. There was a fear about empty seats. They massively under-estimated the fan base, unfortunately. I can’t see the government changing the law on safe standing.
The barrel cladding is fantastic and makes such a difference to the overall appearance of the stadium. Is it just me or is there a shaded section missing from the right hand side. On the left of the stand, there are four shaded sections but on the right, there are only three.
Awesome work as always, Nick. On the barrel cladding for the East and West stand, do you know why they have those patterned clearer looking sections? On the East, I can count 4 towards the NE end and 3 randomly spaced out ones towards the SE. However, on the West, there seems to be much more of them potentially running the full length.
They’re air exhaust vents. The number and location of each is linked to the extractor fans under the cladding from hospitality/kitchens. The west (main stand) has more extractor fans from e.g. more kitchens, so has more air exhaust vents compared to the east.
I have one question: Why do the South Stand, the home end, have gaps on either side of the goal at the front? The whole of that end should be a solid wall of Blue at pitch level!
@@DuncTheBlue1878 This will upset a few. That terrace should have gone to ground level with seats and safe standing. In fact, I cannot understand why there is no safe standing in the upper tier if they want to create a wall for the home end. Also, why is there no safe standing option on the North lower part of the stand?
@@Tinhead777 Yeah, you’re right, it will upset a few. However, wheelchair users have every right to be at pitch level in the home end. Apparently, as part of the club’s many fan surveys, they calculated the number who want to stand throughout the entire game. This is why they decided to have the upper tier of the south stand and the entire north stand as standard seating, rather than rail seating. North east corner lower tier will have rail seating for the away fans (you probably know this).
@@DuncTheBlue1878 Is that a legal right? People have a right to easy access to designated areas of the stadium. Also, those areas would be the best option for me, so yer, having spent my time in the Street End, especially in the late 1970s/80s when we stood on the terraces, I would want the experience, but I am disappointed the South Stand is not what was promised.
Nick, been keeping track of the stadiums progress on your channel since I live in Texas, USA. Nice one mate! Q: Do you know where the team buses would drop off the team on match days? Looks really narrow on both south/north stands. Cheers
Two options for the team bus: on calm, sunny days the bus will drop the players off at the front of the west plaza terrace, between the steps and the water channel (middle entrance). On bad weather days, the bus will stop at the northern entrance to the tunnel under the west plaza terrace (close to the north west corner of the stadium).
My understanding from previous video comments is that the team buses will travel under the North stand overhang. This looks narrow from the drone footage but there's enough room for a 2 m wide personal pathway adjacent to the south stand and a 5 m wide vehicle pathway. For comparison, Queensway tunnel lanes are 9 feet wide (2.7 m). Kingsway tunnel lanes are 12 feet wide (3.6 m).
