    That degree of heartfelt and perfected admiration, with such unmatched depth, on display is like a flawless piece from heaven that seems too good for our fallen world which cuts it off cold in one way or another. Many don't get to experience love like this, yet can have the opportunity to marvel over its existence within another. However, words can't adequately describe the sudden absence and great sadness, to this day, for this special woman to have felt something this rare. No one like them before or since. The most perplexing and heartbreak of a story I've witnessed in decades.

    the strength of a family is not a person who seeks to dominate over the other, but the love deep is in them can share the Common ground and respect for their partner. Sergei had that in abundance. Many times in the videos the commentary always said that Sergei gave her the stage and never tried to out Shadow her or became jealous. Such a quality in a man can bring lifelong happiness and Security in a relationship. I believe if he would have lived they would have been a forever couple. it's easy to talk about caterina's Beauty because she was so beautiful. on the other hand Sergei was drop dead handsome. as all the other skaters and other video they claimed that when they got married they wanted the same respect and beautiful relationship that Sergei and Katerina had. That in itself is a blessing. I love them both. And miss them performing on the ice as a couple. May God bless them.

      Sergei even said himself in an interview a few weeks before his death that he and Katia had deep respect for each other and that he loved her just the way she was. Katia said this many years later after Sergei died, "I always felt very much sure of him, and now I understand, after years have gone by, that this is hard to find in life, to have this... (chokes) well, what a woman needs -- to be sure of her man. Not many women can say this about their man." Such astute words by Katia about Sergei. They would have been a forever couple, indeed.

    “Live each day with lots of smiles. Smile to each other and I say I love you.” 𝐎𝐧𝐞 quote of Katia’s from Celebration of Life skate. They were the definition of perfection. I remember the first time I saw them in person. My friend and I ran down to the tunnel to hand them a stuff Animal at Stars in Ice and a card. I’ll never forget them both waving at us. Was happy I got that chance to see them in person. Was devastated when the news came out. I’ll never forget seeing Katia’s first solo skate and being there. That quote I stated above was the final words after that skate. I’ve never forgotten it nor their skating. There’s never been another G&G and never will be.

    Думаю, что Катя никогда до конца не оправится от этой потери. Есть люди однолюбы, даже если она уже дважды пыталась выйти замуж. Сергей и Катя могут полноценно существовать только вместе. Отдельно Катя-это грустно. Конечно, она продолжает жить, но счастья такого больше не будет....

      I had the pleasure of seeing them skate in person, video doesn't begin to hold a candle to their power and strength. But the thing that really struck me was how silent their skating was, as though they weren't even touching the ice.

    When Katia describes being in labour, she says Sergei asked her repeatedly if she was okay and she said she felt fine, even though she was in pain. Knowing now what happened to Sergei, it makes me wonder if he was hiding chest pain from her. Hard to imagine that he did not endure some pain leading up to his collapse. Perhaps he knew that it would worry her so he never spoke of it. He could not have known the seriousness of his condition. How did he pass those strict yearly Russian physical exams? I wonder if the medical staff knew his heart was not healthy, how could they not? Russia's quest for gold is legendary.

    • @kamwrites
      @kamwrites 11 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      He had recurring back pain. Studies after this documentary showed that he'd probably been suffering from minor heart-attacks several days before his death, but since his pain was fairly constant he probably didn't recognize the symptoms.

    • @patriciarowe3431
      @patriciarowe3431 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      aah ,,,,,, a dear friend of mine went to the doctors for something irrelevant to the fact and through the exam they found a sound in the heart that was not right. When they did a test they found the same thing in her that Sergei had. No warning no symptoms no nothing. I don't know what the term means then heart disease is a silent killer perhaps in that is where the secret lies. All I know that's her condition was found accidentally and both of her arteries were close completely. She had an operation where they cleaned out the arteries and put in some kind of a shut to keep them open. in one video it said that not too long ago he had a complete physical and he was cleared for the Olympic Games. It's just so confusing and hurtful to know that if they would have found that he would still be alive today. even back then the operation was available. It was only a year or two before Sergei past that his father died of a heart attack in his mother's arms. his father not being that old it's a shame that they did not check Sergei as a precaution. the autopsy showed that Sergei had an inherited heart problem. How sad is that

      yoda momma ,,,, Not even!!! be careful what you say and accuse people of. What reason would it be for him to take steroids to be in with. Katarina was just 11 years old when they started skating and she didn't get very tall at that afterwards. Small frame body and small weight. The man was not a wimp. He was very responsible and had undergone physicals to qualify for the Olympics and other competitions. Be careful what you bring to the table at somebody's feet when you don't know anything about their living and life.
