Willing to sacrifice himself for mankind. As well as writing his own destiny even knowing his life wasn't natural. I don't think there is anyone I know who's pulled a 180 the correct way in character development. Only Luke has done it..

A position it held for close to a decade thanks to the combined super powers of being a phenomenal game, and nostalgia
@@8-bitsarda747 I love Trails and just beat the Sky trilogy and am currently playing Crossbell. And in my opinion, the only games that come even close to Trail storytelling are Abyss and Symphonia. Abyss is my favorite game of all time and Symphonia, while a bit old, has a lovable protag who is perfect husbando material. Lloyd Irving is the perfect amount of reliable and stupid. Both Symphonia and Abyss tell a great story about their respective themes, but Abyss just has the better cast of characters. More importantly, Jade is in the game. Just like Crossbell has my favorite cast because Tio and Randy are in these games. I love my Sky crew. I love them all to bits. Especially Tita. But Crossbell has Tio and Randy, which makes them superior. Although Olivier still steals the show in every scene he appears in. What I trying to say is: I'm a huge sucker for Tales of the Abyss and Trails is the new addiction I needed while I'm holding my hopes up for an Abyss HD Remaster someday.
That's what kinda blows me away. I've done all 3 so far, and it's kinda surprising that Abyss has no real PC port or HD remaster. Symphonia got one for PS3/PC, and Vesperia got that big boy HD definitive edition.
Technically it did when it got ported to the 3ds. I'm grateful for the port since that was my gateway into the franchise, but I very much want a full HD remaster or another port to modern day consoles/PC because dammit, I need to see it on the big screen.

Also a nice contrast is how Luke is the youngest Tales MC and Alphen is the oldest. And both are the only games with a definitive romance in it! We need Abyss on modern Consoles! I've only played this game once, and it was 10 years ago when the 3ds port was released... I got literal chills from the big swell at 2:07, brought tears to my eyes and all the memories rushing back. The gameplay may be slightly dated, but in terms of story, character development, music and the use of that music for tone and story telling, no tales game has come close to matching this one, and very few other games have either. I would probably hold this as my second favorite game of all time, and it's very close.

Tales of abyss as in a league of own, it was much better than vesperia/symphonia. I wish I can enjoy another game as much as I did again with ToA in this lifetime. Tales of Arise is very good and I really enjoyed playing it (best i've played in years, enjoyed it more than vesperia imho) but its still quite lacking compared to Abyss in terms of story writing.
The FoF combat style though was annoying to manage I don't enjoy the overly complicated combat system in abyss, but it is the king of writing. Vesperia gets flak for being slow, but Yuri is banned from popularity contests for a reason. It's combat was easier to manage to. Symphonia has great story, and has the nostalgia effect and it's characters are memorable. Especially the doofus Lloyd for always being heroic.

I just haven't got the chance to play Vesperia in the mean time, pls don't spoil me but what is the good side of Vesperia? Is it the plot? the feature? or overall? Getting my hand on that game is kinda hard...
I'd say it's the mix of combat mechanics, likeable characters and decent storyline that Vesperia gets just right. On the other hand, my favorite Tales so far is probably Berseria. It's a hit or miss, but for me it was quite a critical hit. Velvet ftw!
Tales of is never going to recapture a moment like Luke vs Asche; that's just a fact at this point LOL. Paper Mario will never recapture the old game's battle system. Star Fox is dead. And uh, lots more. So many franchises I loved as a kid are dead now. :'D Like the other games in the series are good and all, but moments like this completely blew me away, even as an adult.
If this game taught us anything, it’s not to give up hope. 5 years ago I thought the nier, god eater, and xeno franshises were dead. Nier became one of the most influential and popular games recently, and god eater got everything remastered and a new game, and xeno is going strong. Hell I would have called you stupid if you told me vesperia the xbox exclusive would be re released on ps4 in a collection 5 years ago. There is still hope for abyss yet and paper mario 2

Second favorite tales game after Tales of Vesperia. Sorry Abyss, but nothing has beaten Vesperia.
I just haven't got the chance to play Vesperia in the mean time, pls don't spoil me but what is the good side of Vesperia? Is it the plot? the feature? or overall? Getting my hand on that game is kinda hard...
I'd say it's the mix of combat mechanics, likeable characters and decent storyline that Vesperia gets just right.
On the other hand, my favorite Tales so far is probably Berseria. It's a hit or miss, but for me it was quite a critical hit. Velvet ftw!
Abyss has the better soundtrack but then again, opinions are opinions.
Symphonia its the best tales game...

Tales of is never going to recapture a moment like Luke vs Asche; that's just a fact at this point LOL.
Paper Mario will never recapture the old game's battle system.

And uh, lots more. So many franchises I loved as a kid are dead now. :'D Like the other games in the series are good and all, but moments like this completely blew me away, even as an adult.
If this game taught us anything, it’s not to give up hope. 5 years ago I thought the nier, god eater, and xeno franshises were dead. Nier became one of the most influential and popular games recently, and god eater got everything remastered and a new game, and xeno is going strong. Hell I would have called you stupid if you told me vesperia the xbox exclusive would be re released on ps4 in a collection 5 years ago. There is still hope for abyss yet and paper mario 2
I thought Fire Emblems true spirit died when that atrocity Fates came, but then Shadows of Valentina appeared.
Never give up hope.
This game deserves a remaster.
