- DOLCE AND GABBANA IN FLORENCE: A HOLIDAY FOR THE EYE AND THE SOUL
Prof. Lubomir Stoykov, Chairman of the Academy of Fashion, commented on one of the most stunning outdoor fashion shows:
"The most famous Italian fashion duo Dolce and Gabbana continues to arouse admiration both with their unique collections and with the extremely attractive way of presenting them. At the heart of their style are ethnic values and postmodern eclecticism, and pop culture fetishes. One of their most dizzying fashion shows - that of their haute couture collection, spring-summer 2021, was inspired by the Italian Renaissance and Florentine culture. It could hardly be found in a suitable place for this purpose from Villa Bardini in Florence, where 89 outfits were presented in compliance with the prescriptions of the health authorities and impressive guests from all over the world - a fantastic explosion of colors, prints, embroidery, lace, 3D flowers, feathers, tulle and beautiful appliques and decorations. A celebration for the eye and the soul and a shining example of the renaissance mission of contemporary Italian fashion - in one sentence we can summarize another powerful cultural, aesthetic and artistic message of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana!”.

Villa Bardini, with its monumental garden and its panorama of Florence, hosted the Alta Moda fashion show.
Received in concession following the inheritance of antiquarian Stefano Bardini, Fondazione CR Firenze restored the marvellous space filled with statues and artistic and architectonic artifacts, rich with history and beauty.

Good Lord these D&G alta moda shows are in a league of their own! It's like this is some special spring festival held in some far off realm where queens of different nations are invited.
Stunning. Magical. Probably the most beautiful D & G show ever. Can only fantasize about wearing such garments.

What beautiful clothes and beautiful fabrics I love
The music brings back memories of riding on a carousel as a child, there is a definite mid century vive to the collection. Beautiful indeed, but I couldn’t stop thinking when the fall of one of those models would happen, I’m glad there were gentlemen catchers on the sidelines. Nonetheless beautiful 🥰

Now that’s a tricky runway! Kudos to the models managing all of the stairs. This is so beautiful and romantic it brought tears to my eyes.

Such beautiful designs ! I loved a lot of them. Flowers, elegance, so delicate.
THE most stunning locale I’ve ever seen a fashion show presented in. And the clothes, with all those retro-inspired looks, was so visually wonderful. I kept thinking to myself that I could just see Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly wearing so many of those looks. It’s so well choreographed, it’s mind boggling. Nice to see that the show producers thought of model safety and didn’t have them tottering down and up all those stairs in the 6” high heel shoes that are de rigueur in so many other designer’s shows.
Was it just me, or was anyone else reminded of Frida Kahlo when they saw the beautiful floral headdresses? I do have to say though, that I wish they would of had closeups of the outfits as it looked like their was a lot of beautiful embroidery work.
The movie music is to die for. And the show is off the charts. Seriously dangerous for the girls though. One slip and you've got a broken ankle. And the boys couldn't help.

Dolche Cabanna fashion wear, fall 2021 very beautiful beautiful florals and textures and sheer fabrics combination. Also accent hats made of flowers and fishnets , and colors Grey's yellows black with bold bright colors, and neutral color lace fabric dresses. Greens colors so nature on display so awesome. So creative. I enjoyed this collection and walking on stairs outdoor s green scenery a unique setting too.
Love the showmanship, the history and the agility required for this performance.
I guess, when it comes to flowers and feminity, it goes with everything. Beautiful collection. Music is very beautiful, too.

Despite of the clothes, in my humble opinion, I think it is a crime against these ladies to make them go downstairs and then up stairs risking an accident trying to look glamorous in such a runway.
Honestly I just couldn’t with the circus music.
I agree with you both, anyone who's ever held a camera or organised staging for literally anything is clutching their pearls at this ridiculous ho wrangle. The steps are stupidly dangerous, you can't even see the damn pieces, the lighting and angles are hot garbage and the music is beyond shrill. Shame on whoever put this together- you suck!
The models only saving grace is that they were not made to wear 7 inch heels...I guarantee there would have been falls everywhere!

These guys are amazing, this is art . I dream one of this dress lovely show.
A festive flavor filled the audience's senses. The pallette of dramtic colors, and designes caused the eyes to dance with delight ! Each piece seemed to be a signed masterpiece. I imagined all the different settings in which I would wear these gorgeous expressions of beauty. The splash of metallic sewd the the pieces together. The strong introduction of flowers and lace brought my mind to a romantic ,impressionistic Era ,a mood I think we are all ready for.

Gowns were gorgeous giving me “GiGi” vibes! Wish the show hadn’t been on those stairs though. Would have liked to have had a better look from different angles and feel a lot of details were missed because of the stairs.
Dolce & Gabbana reminds me a lot of Carmen Miranda's looks.

These outfits are so abundant visually. I envision a rich classical opera production with such aesthetic. Highest forms of art deserve highest quality costumes and opportunities for visual artistic expression. As a member of the public, I'm feeling excited to be expecting such grandiose productions in my imagination, while becoming part of that show. The human spirit is grandiose, profound and vast. That's why we enjoy lush forms of art and we feel 'in the right place' observing others' Glory /as Ancient Greek philosophers have been teaching us/. Gloria - it's inherent in human nature; and is a result of group /'team'/ efforts, based on inspiration.
