Yeah. I don't understand what so many people like about patina. But as I tell DD Speed Shop and Casey's Customs, it's your truck. Patina means it's starting to rust away to me.
To each their own! It is definitely starting to rust away, but through out this series you will see that i take every panel and strip all of the rust off of it, coat the inside of each panel and preserve the outside with sealant/clear coat, therefore, i believe it will last another 60 years in its current condition. I also explain why i decided to go with a patina look, a major reason being the amount of work and money to fix it enough for a paint job, then after all that time and money, it blends in with every other restored truck and loses it’s originality in my opinion. Those are a few reasons i went with the patina look! Thank you for the view and comment!
Man I was excited for you but you lost me at patina rust sucks cheep paint looks better than rust come on man if you gonna work on it invest in a little sandpaper and paint
Thank you for your support and watching! I plan to do the clear coat over the cleaned up original paint (well whats left) and the surface rust for the time being. I have never done it before and I feel like it will have an interesting outcome for only $100. This is only the first phase for this project and chances are that when/if I do the trailblazer SS swap, I will repaint the whole truck at that time.
G'day awesome project mate
