He had a great role in the evolution of aviation with his works on aerondynamics with Cohanda. He is also responsible of the use of MHD in hydraulic pumps, but he claims that MHD can used for propulsion and shock waves supression, which is very controversial in the scientific world. Jean Pierre Petit was one of the most brillant mind in fluid dynamics science especially in aeronautical engineering. I'm a former private pilot.
If some people to build starfleets academy or galactic school on extroplanets and motherships, they'll let youth to study MHD and starship engineering.
