after digesting it all and reading all comments etc.. i think the show runners has backed themselves into a corner that they will not get out off. they should cancel s6 and have this as series final. they should of had her leave swat half way through the season so ppl can see what she actually is doing now with helping those girls and of course show chris n street since it has been build up since SEASON 1!!! all the screen time they have shared everything they been through for them now to be together finally, and not even see that does not make sense on many levels. these writers are not great its gotta be said the tan and bonnie stuff has been awful i totally forgot they got married coz last time we saw her she was waving from a car she has not been seen or even mentioned since!! even luca in this scene didnt even mention tan and bonnie lol!!!!! spliting chris and street up wont make sense, killing chris off wont make sense so what can they do. it would be nice if she did pop in the odd episode here and there but i cant see that she left a main roll and with all these goodbyes it looks like she is done with this now. i still question the reason for leaving something is not sitting right with me!
so s6 will be all bout hondo again with that relationship n bloody baby on the way yayyyyy!! he is my worst character in this show all his relationships through the series has had screen time everyone else gets shat on!

Hondo is the engine of the show, there’s no SWAT without him, so yes he will eat up most of the screentime.
As for the other parts, you have to understand this show is about the day to day operation of SWAT. You can’t risk turning this into a soap opera.
I see what you mean about being backed into a corner. They thought about killing her but figured it will ruin the show.. so they gave her a sendoff but I like your idea of the mid season to give everyone a proper send off. But I feel like she might come back once or twice...
I think it feels like Lina wanted to leave. I have listened to her on a few interviews and she wants to write and direct and take on other projects Hard to do when you are working 14hrs a day...
Judging by the msg she left on Shemar's post I think it was her who wanted to leave and based on the farewell they gave her.. looks like she left on good terms.
My issue is you can't break them up cos of how long they took to get together. So she will be off screen for this season.. if SWAT gets renewed for more than s7.. they might have to kill her unless Alex Russell decides to leave... or they could make him like Tan... wife is out there somewhere. Also if Lina has another show that takes off then she can't recur
It's very complicated.. but I am curious to see how s6 goes..
I don't know how much more stories you can get off Hondo.. unless Saint kills Nichelle... that will be interesting to see.
@@HISHAM931 great points... obviously hondo is main lead so will get more screen but to show all of his relationships getting all that screen time they could of gave some of them spots to another character. as i said about tan he seems the most irrelevant character he literally gets nothing and i think thats a shame.
im not suggesting to turn it into a soap apera n make it all about chris n street but for them to purposely build this relationship from the first season to not see them as a couple clearly does not sit right with alot of ppl, all that long ass build is basically for nothing so if she left mid season maybe u could of had a date night at the end of an episode somewhere just to show a little summat. and maybe a few spots here and there show her at that house helping them girls doing what she has to do now considering she was 1 of of the main characters all these years i think thats only fair to do that.. but of course thats just my opinion lol just have to wait now and see what happens right
@@issyikhis3449 yes that would be interesting to see,, tbf there has not been a death since erika n that was around mid s4 so u could say another is maybe due now.. without a doubt s6 is make or break for the show from alot of comments im reading alot of ppl have tuned out now so they really have to pull it out the bag if they are even considering doing more seasons
@@Cyberdyne-Systems-Model-101 in all fairness SWAT officers are less likely to die so death is uncommon but people leaving is common. The issue is how they continue without Chris. Apart from Hondo she had the biggest storyline.. and i will say her character connected the team more than Hondo's. Hondo had his family and friends but it didn't really affect/connect the team. Chris was friends with Tan and Luca...Godmother to Deacon's kid and love interest for Street. So big shoes to fill for new person.
They kill Chris they lose the base that are hoping for some hint of Chris from Street or to see if she makes a cameo. As you said they backed themselves into a corner with the 20 squad is family... very few shows survive a big change.

“Street gets me”; what a great line!!! She finally got true happiness with Street! I’m all honesty, this would have been a great series finale if it hadn’t been renewed for season 6, how do we go on to the next season without Lina, I need more #Stris couple scenes!! The way Hondo says this isn’t goodbye it’s forever-gives me the tiniest of hope that she could be back for a series finale episode whenever that comes….
Well, the only way I see that we'll get any STRIS content in s6 and beyond is when there's a scene or two where the team talks about her and what's going on with the safe house. I don't know if that actually would count though since Lina is leaving
I like to think she's not completely closed the door and would make cameos it can work we never really see bonnie she was once in season 4 in a car waving

Okay, I really hate this now. I didn't expect Lina to actually leave the show (I was actually hoping she wouldn't so we could see where Chris's relationship with Street will go), but now that her exit has been confirmed and it's really happening... I feel like the team will just mention Chris from time to time throughout s6 and beyond. At least the writers finally gave us STRIS. That's a upside to all of this 👍 but that speech from Hondo got me in full-blown tears and I'm still working through it 😭😭😭

@NLTV Yeah, my thought too and i really think that she wouldn´t have let the writes get them back together without any intention to come back from time to time. Everything i heard from the Cast and Staff of this show just says me: They care not only for the best way to make a big buck, but even more for the wish of the fans to be carefull with those flashed out characters. Giving chris and street such an connection again this late before her departure just wouldn´t fit if she will never come back. This is a great show and it seems like they really care about preventing sharp, unfitting and abundant character switches like they happened e.g in NCIS. That series was really really good in it´s first half, but then chaos came into existence. But i don´t see something like that comming for S.W.A.T. This show is a hit, it has great characters who get flashed out in a highly detailed way over a time that just fit´s, nothing to slow, nothing to fast.
The only thing i am regretting about S.W.A.T is that it didn´t even KNEW about it until it already was in it´s 4. season. Just because it was never on TV (as far as i know) here (Germany) and Netflix just got the first two seasons when season 4 was threw it´s first run with only 1 or 2 episodes left.

It is sad Lina as Chris leaving swat. She was an amazing character in the show and it won't be the same without her.
She"ll probably make a few guest appearances in the future hopefully. Chris might need the team to help at some point

People don’t understand how exhausting it is to be on a weekly tv show. You’re on set for 9-16 hours a day usually. 23-24 episodes a year is almost 11 months out of your life. Lina is probably just tired of it. 5 years with that schedule is brutal
And it’s hard for them to take on other projects

At least Stris came full circle. I was so happy when Hondo made Luca the Godfather for the baby. They are so officially family. Luca and Hondo are so tight now! Luca's like the brother from another mother. Congratulations Hondo and Nichell! Everyone depends on Luca. I'm
sure he will get that plus one, because he deserves someone wonderful. Hopefully it will be someone he doesn't work with to avoid the workplace drama and who is "perfect" for Luca. 20 SQUAD!

Even if I'm sad not to have Lina again, and considering that her exit is due to the actress choice... I feel satisfied for this "end", I believe that writers gave me all the scenes I've dreamed about and maybe more ;-)
The morning scene with Luca was even better than expected and also the last scene. That kiss on her head, sooooo sweet and their smiles sooooo cute.
Unbelievable that they are a couple from a single day, they are so confortable with each other.... and Chris? What a change!!!! She's the one to lean to kiss him, she's so smiling!!!!!
Are now clear all the hard effort she had done not to do it before, she probably fighted with this temptation so long due to the work and the rules....
My heart is "in peace" to have seen them together, even if I still hope to have at least some little scenes next season, Lina can be a recurring guest and have a story as Nichelle... this should be perfect for me!

STRIS scenes will basically be less and less (if we get any) as the show continues next fall for s6 and beyond. So we should savor it, enjoy it and take it in while we can

As heartbreaking as this episode was with Lina Esco's departure, I am still looking forward to season 6. Five years ago when Shemar Moore came back to us with SWAT, I was so happy to see him again each week. Then, hearing that Kenny Johnson was also along for the ride made it even better. I have never had two of my favorite actors in the same show before. SWAT made it happen! So season 6 here I come! 20 SQUAD!

c'est triste pour le départ de Lina mais après avoir revu ce final des dizaines de fois, je reste sur ma première impression : c'était parfait ! vraiment parfait, chris et street méritaient une fin heureuse, la porte reste ouverte pour une petit clin d'oeil durant la saison 6 pourquoi pas après tout !

I think the show won't be the same without Lina, and I heard it was close to get cancelled a few times, I hope the producers take this into consideration and don't make SWAT a 12 seasons show, struggling every single year to get a new one. Don't get me wrong, I love SWAT, but It happens all the time, shows get cancelled without a propper end, if they count on it, season 6 or maybe 7 is great to end it, Hondo's kid baptism, Hicks retiring, Stris wedding (although they don't see like a couple into that stuff) there are good ways to end it, with Lina and all the important members of this beatiful show present, of course.
Shemar did 8 years on Young and the Restless and 11 on Criminal Minds. Doubt SWAT lasts more than a few more years
@@Ryan-zt2xw You are right, I quit watching criminal minds in season 3, wasn't my type of show I guess (Shemar did great btw) but I noticed this, in CM the key of the show is the criminal, the crime and how they solve it, not the characters, maybe Reid and Garcia are unique, but everybody else is replaceable, I read about the next seasons and this actually happened, you just say it, Shemar leave after 11 years, but CM was 15/16. For example I liked Hotch, but if you replace him with another serious actor in a nice suit, is the same. In SWAT, the crime is not the key, 20 squad is, Chris, Luca, Tan, Deac, Street and Hondo, we don't care about the reasons why a kid is holding a bomb at his classroom, we care about our favorite squad trying to save the day, we already lose Chris, and they will replace her with another one, won't be the same, and if someone else of the main cast quits like Lina, bye bye show, just think about swat without Chris and Luca.

Sad part is majority of the reasons the show did so well this season was the Stris and Chris fans.. it will be interesting to see how they go nxt season.. they probably got maybe up to s7 if you stretch it.. but the individual growth for 20 squad is done... unless they bring in more recruits or something but can't see any more stories from this team
@@issyikhis3449 exactly, I know the show is about Swat, action, police work, etc. But 30% of every episode is the personal side of the squad, Hondo’s life, Deac’s family, Bonnie, Luca’s bro. And how they interact with each other. But I honestly think stris was the important storyline on this side, the other ones just feel like crap to fill the empty parts. Now they don’t have stris, probably they are going to replace it with Nichelle, but I’m not digging it, never liked their relationship, to me it seems like two people, who are single and getting older, grab the first one they can to start a family and avoid loneliness.

I hope that when the series finale comes that Lina will come back. Honestly if season 5 had been the last one, this would have been a perfect send off!! Chris and Street are definitely together for the long haul, they are so amazing together, and Chris finally realized that she fits with Street. How they make the next season without her? Can't believe this is the end 😞
I'm so upset with CBS right now. They have ruined this farewell episode for me. If something ran over for nearly an hour why the hell not cancel NCIS LA. Swat didn't come on until nearly 11pm which mess up my whole DVR of the episode. So the only thing I got was Stris in bed in the beginning. Now granted that's the best part of the episode but still I felt cheated and I'm so annoyed.

Ok…..I have tried to accept that Lino Esco chose to leave. And I really do wish her the best, but I miss her character so much! SWAT has been one of my favorite shows since it began and Chris was and Street were two of my favorite characters. I’m still missing you Lino. 😢💔
That is my favourite line Street gets me, Chris tells the team in the style they are a couple. Pray writer don't let Street date no one else in season 6 because he dating Chris Off screen I am okay once they are together. True Love and soulmate prevail anywhere whether on or off the screen.

From what I read the writers were not going to put Stris together.. they would have kept dragging it out... luckily for them Lina quit..

I have been following Lina and I think she wanted to do more stuff.. she writes and wants to direct more.. filming 10mths of the yr doesn't give much time for other things..
I think she will could guest star as it's less time on set.. but again it depends on her schedule.
She also seems to have a good relationship with the team... so I imagine that leaves the door open.

It might be nothing but that time Street and Chris were holding hands, before Tan came along, Street told Chris about some ways she can make it up to him which might be a hint she’s not leaving, and then the last scene when Street was smiling hard, you wouldn’t be doing that if the person you loved was leaving, just speculation

Pois é, a pouco li um texto que ela deixou na sua página do Stagran. Fiquei chateado 😡, pós a série não vai ser o mesmo sem ela e o Stret, pelo menos na minha opinião o casal teve um final diguino, e a personagem sai da série de uma forma coerente.

Ela não vai aparecer nem de vez em quando Como casal com Street? Como Anny de Deacon. O fim foi um cala a boca pra gente não resmungar. O casal fica junto no último centésimo de segundo do segundo tempo de prorrogação e isso é um fim digno? As cenas são lindas, mas como Street disse: " Esperei 5 anos". Desde o primeiro dia de Street e Chris, quando ele olhou pra ela, Street ficou doido por Chris. Imagine quanta coisa poderiam ter vivido. E no último centésimo de segundos, eles transam. E só. Nem vou comentar mais. Parece que tudo foi feito às pressas. Lina deve ter avisado que sairia da série com a quinta temporada quase toda escrita. Só pode.

Com a atriz Mônica Raymond, que interpretava a socorrista e Bombeira Gabiela Dawson, aconteceu o mesmo, no auge do personagem na 7° Temporada de Chicago fire saiu e foi trabalhar na série Higthown.
Cristina Alonso vai ficar na lembrança de todos como uma mulher símbolo de superação, altruísta, perseverante, resiliente.
Só espero logo ver a Atriz de volta às telas em outros trabalhos, Um forte abraço Andreia, e vamos ver o que acontece na 6° Temporada.

She will be back on swat in season 6 she won’t be a swat officer she will be on there as streets girl friend and running the safe house Lina character Chris will be on there in some sort of way

There is only so much talking behind that Street can do.. they can drag it out one season maybe 2 but Street will go to every milestone event by himself is unrealistic.. unless Street leaves too.. but this is all speculation

Who is excited for season six
I am not sure I am going to continue watching. No offense but I am not as invested in Hondo’s personal life which is the most the series are focusing on.
They could’ve had Chris stay for example in 20 squad and Jim move to a different team but still working under the same roof. They could have found a way seasons ago.
They found a way in NCIS L.A., for I don’t know how many years. I honestly don’t believe Lina wanted to go. I think the writers led themselves in an impasse with her character and she had nowhere to go with “Chris”.
The only reason to come back is the rest of the team honestly, and to see if Luca is finally going to settle down 😜

Lina asked to move on a year ago, it was her decision to purse other endeavors. Chris and Street would have never been able to work while they were both in SWAT, the way Chris is hardwired she just wouldn’t have been able to let herself do so, it works because she’s not apart of the team.
